They should have called this Oil Barron Bourbon for how much they charge for the stuff. No Cowboy can afford it.

Bought a bottle of the 2019 Cowboy on sale. It is a BEAST!! Not for the meek. Agree with Sara, a few drops of water are GOOD!

The Balmorhea and Single Barrel cask strength are my favorite with the single barrel being the best I’ve had so far.

My favorite Garrison Brothers has to be their 107 proof port finished still.

Being right down the road from garrison. In fredericksburg. I have had a lot of there products and find that it’s just too much. If they used 53 gallon barrels maybe it would be less harsh. But yea I’ll take iron root or treaty oak any day. And soon luckenbach road will have there product in bottles as well. So look out for that.

I haven't had iron root and treaty oak was very mid for me. Garrison Brothers is switching over to 53 gallon barrels but they haven't had any of that whiskey release yet.

Right on. Thanks for doing this review.
Maybe one of these days I'll be able to afford to drink like this without causing a divorce.

I have 3 different bottle of Garrison Bros at home that I still need to try. Have to look at the proof of those bottles. They are pricey. but will have to taste and test. thanks for reviews cheers

Went to Garrison Bros in 2021. It's a great distillery experience, but I wasn't a fan of their Bourbon line up. But, definitely worth going there when in Austin

Ironroot and Balcones seem to be able to price their product within reason. And for this reason, I'm out.

Love and enjoy Balcones and Ironroot more than Garrison, for half the price.

Garrison makes some quality whiskey, but it's expensive even here in Texas.

Great review. Since you're doing some Texas stuff I'd love to hear what you think of the Balcones Single Pot Still Texas bourbon or the Balcones 100% Rye. Cheers!

I haven’t had the cowboy bourbon but I did buy the single barrel and wasn’t that impressed. It almost tasted like a hotter version of Jim Beam white label and for $120+tax (in Texas) It should have been better IMHO.

Don’t sleep on Still Austin Whiskey Co. Just started releasing some 4+ year old single barrels. I don’t get Garrison, absolutely zero value.

Agreed. Texas bourbon is not for me.

Well, here’s the thing, we do enjoy it. We would love to own a bottle and would happily drink it. Now, the reason why we don’t own a bottle is it’s over priced to us.

It's not bourbon if it isn't from Kentucky. Sure you can call it what you want. But if on the label doesn't say distilled in KY, it's just a whiskey.

@@TravisG88 Ask any Kentucky resident if they'll buy a bottle of bourbon if on the back of the bottle says; Distilled and Bottled in Indiana, Texas, or any other state. Even if the bourbon is distilled in another state but bottled in Kentucky, I will not touch that bottle. Unwritten rules about buying a bottle of bourbon topple your facts for Kentuckians, because we know better. So if you think you're drinking labeled bourbon not distilled and bottled in KY, I hate to break it to you, but it's not bourbon, LoL.
My definition is facts and does not over ride your opinion results found on Google.
