I hated this when I first cracked it. Didn’t revisit it for a while (2-3 months). Once I revisited it, I actually really liked it, the bitterness mellows out and the sweetness really comes forward. I’d love to see a follow-up video in 3 months revisiting it. Cheers fellas🍻
garrison brothers has always been a fav, discovered them years ago when I lived in louisville. hard to find in the other places I've lived since. definitely recommend trying them out!
Don't get me wrong, I love watching episodes with bottles that I will never see, but, man it goes up a notch when you can play along and have the bottle to sample; playing the do you see what I see, do you know what I know, do you smell what I did game. This is an amazing pour!
I was with a group of friends enjoying some whiskey. My friends kept saying the whiskey reminded them of me. I was feeling very complimented until they said it was because the the whiskey was very dense.
Love Garrison Brothers ever since a Texas family friend introduced it to me, no other Bourbon is quite the same. (This same friend would say you either love it or you hate it, the comments here seem to display that sentiment). It would be awesome if you guy's reviewed the Garrison Brothers Cowboy, don't see too many reviews of that!
Cool vid, interesting bottle today. Would you guys be interested in doing a vid on a few oak forward bottles, then comparing. Could also try different irish pot still line ups etc
I think Heaven Hill has pot & column for Evan Williams, but I think I don't think the pot distilled version is available to the public/they're experimenting.
$250 for this is crazy. Here in San antonio, it's around $188.99-$199.99, depending on the chain store or mom and pops. The only bottle I recall being $250 is cowboy if I'm not mistaken, and that's their blantons in a way or their most prized whisky. Then, for $350, you got laguna Madre.
Lot 40 column distills then pot distills their 100 % rye whisky. Is that what you were hoping to try to do? Or distill batches separately to taste the difference?
Balmorhea definitely does not go for 500-1k on the secondary. Retail is under $200 and I can’t recall ever seeing it for more. Nor would I pay any amount for it. I’ve tried multiple times to enjoy this and just no. On the other hand cowboy bourbon and Guadalupe are fantastic and I would gladly pay retail for them. Maybe even a little more.
@@kvetcha That red flashing intense glow you perceive is my profoundly embarrassed face. You are correct. Now excuse me while I go hide my head in shame.
Garrison Brothers Balmorhea and the annual Cowboy Bourbon are absolutely delicious if you enjoy high proof juice. If you can find a single barrel/barrel proof in your area, I recommend you give it a try.
Its a windbreak plant from the landscaping world that got delivered to supermarkets by mistake, but since it never wilts or turns yellow, the whole produce department looks better, even if nobody buys it
This is a reason I watch these videos, to learn of new things I may like or may not like. Not a fan of oak forward whiskeys, so Garrison sounds like a pass. Thanks gentlemen
The Cale I know is from Alaska. SMH and is tall like Rex and bald like Daniel. Actually he prefers to say that he is just taller than his hair…Alaskan’s…
The Boys reactions, constant random evolution of the flavors, and the repeated comment of needing "to be in the mood" made me realize this is a whiskey I may need to skip
Funny that you mention all of that church grooming stuff. I recently was about to apply to Garrison Brothers. The receptionist lady there sent me some paperwork to fill out and I noted the preamble that came along with it and how God was the most important thing to all of them and that was enough for me. I don't do religion in any way shape or form I find it to be the house of Hippocrates. Don't get me wrong my aunt is a Catholic nun. I don't mind what you believe as long as you're not hurting other people but I do mind when you make it and edict that everybody has to have a similar mindset. Yeah that whole mindset is the reason why I don't eat Chick-fil-A or shop at Hobby Lobby or participate with any other Corporation or business that makes that their number one functional edict. That being said I wouldn't drink Garrison Brothers if it was the last bottle in existence.
This takes the cake…for THE MOST HILARIOUSLY RANDOM AND OBSCURE START to a review video ever!

“You know when you smell the bung hole and it makes your eyes water” “are you describing me” “ smells like stranger danger” comedy gold.
These are my favored gay couple.

I’m a Garrison Brothers fan in General so this video really has me looking forward to trying this one.
Garrison Brothers are one of my favorites. To bad I can not afford "that bottle" Thank you. Once again AWESOME review.

*a minute in* YAAAAAY it's storytime with Daniel again!!
*a few minutes later* Dear lord...
Thanks for the video as always 🥃
Liked and shared!, Love when the talk is about the whisk(e)y being tasted.
This is one of my most favorite bourbons. Then I got the Cowboy Bourbon and that is even better.

Happy Hump Day MB's
That ravioli dish sounds delicious!
Rex: I promise not to groom you.
Everyone: Don't make promises you can't keep.
GOOD MORNING YOU MB'S.... 🥃
Damn Neal! Heck of a donation.
I think Heaven Hill has pot & column for Evan Williams, but I think I don't think the pot distilled version is available to the public/they're experimenting.
How do I get werther candies and oak on mine?
Walnuts are also stone fruits btw :P
Nice

Hopefully going to check out the tasting room by the end of the month. Hope it’s open after all the property damage from the freeze. Cheers guys!
The real question is what cologne triggers Daniel?
Lot 40 column distills then pot distills their 100 % rye whisky. Is that what you were hoping to try to do? Or distill batches separately to taste the difference?
Serious Time with Daniel New channel?
3:15 a gold star magnificent bastard
I hope lots of people buy this. And don’t buy scotch/single malts. So the scotch/single malts will be left for me 😃🥃
Wow 😮
Figures, I passed on a bottle at retail today.
Was the Magnificent Bastard who donated the bottle intended to be anonymous? I don't believe they were ever introduced.
3:45
I suffered from Balmorhea just last week.
8:03 -- Daniel is having a Martha Stewart moment there :)
you should name the hybrid column still pot still mix "Stranger Danger"
"Somebody would smell the bunghole and whoa!" - Dan. I know it's childish but that is my middle-school humor level.

That is a crazy ass story so sorry for that experience Daniel! Hopefully Rex will decide he doesn't like to smell like grooming lol
7:33 challenge you to film Daniel preparing that recipe.
In Ireland, kale lettuce is called rocket. So, the word kale may not bring to their minds a name.
I thought Rocket is Arugula?

@@no2all no need for that!
That GB is hard to love.
It has a medal around it. It has to be good 😳
"Smells like Stranger Danger" -line of the episode haha
Posted 27 seconds ago! Lol....
Daniel's butternut squash needs brown butter
I get a mcdonalds sweet and sour chicken nugget sauce on this one
Balmorhea is good but for the price a good barrel pick, cowboy, or Guadalupe are better.
Yeah, I think we need to charge Daniel for this one.
Smells like stranger danger

Kale did not become popular as a superfood until Pizza Hut( the number-one purchaser) stopped using it as decoration around their salad bars

Don't sleep on this one. It's really good but you have to like full flavor/barrel proof type bourbon
One run pot still and one column still
Ya gotta
My bottle got great until it was 1/2 empty about 9mo after I opened it. If anyone want to pay that much call me 😊

"I do a dude"
memories of church band again?
For a second, I thought this was “Diarrhea Bourbon”.

Good to know I can avoid GB's overpriced whiskies. Makes me wonder if there's an intentional 10% upcharge.
@@ryand7764 someone's going to pay their tithing.
Stranger Danger Cologne. Bottle it & sell it!
Balmorhea is going for a grand….nah, Guadalupe maybe.
Tripped over this bourbon review to hear a story of a pedo experience.
Daniel says he was groomed then later admitted he does a dude. 🤣🤣
Lol very random take to describe a smell lol
It's an okay whiskey but not at the price they are asking. Sorry, it's not that great of a whiskey and the price is too high for the quality.
Sounds like an overpriced and over hyped bourbon
