Andre is dressed like Paddington Bear.
☠
Red Beanie mirroring the red wax on the maker's mark too.
Same as every video
I was thinking Life Aquatic
i dont even drink but i clicked on the video
Andre is a treasure of taste and culture for all. He is eloquent but not pompous. Educated but not a braggart. Sophisticated but not afraid to live (and maybe a little love) the Beam nostalgia. Cheers to you Andre!
Given this comment, I'd suggest watching his video with Brad Leone if you haven't already. It was a blast!
"Eloquent but not pompous" is the perfect way to put it!! Love him
He wears the same outfit in every. single. video.
Since those glasses are now discontinued, Andre should partner with a glass manufacturer and release his own version. I’m sure most of us who are fans of him will cop.
I'm in
I’ve seen exactly 2 videos, have tried maybe 1 wine in my life. And I’m in lol
@@BeauJRF he collabed with Craighill and released a wine key. It’s still available on the site if you’re interested.
Funny enough after watching the video I was intrigued by this glass. Was thrifting today and found the exact glass shown in the video. Brand new in their box, $2.99 each. The store had 8 of them.
I’d buy them!
André could review supermarket white bread and I'd watch it.
Now that would be a watch!!! 🤣🤣
Start your own channel my guy, it'll be a great success.
I'm sure with this he makes bank, gains notoriety, and doesn't really have to put too much effort into it
Evan Williams Bottled-in-Bon is one of the best bourbons at the price that you will consistently be able to find. Always on my shelf
White label evan williams is my go to, but now I want to try Basil Hayden 🙂 Time to up my frugal game (a little) ;-)
Benchmark Full proof does it for me at the $20 price.
shhhh, stop. They'll raise the price.
That Evan Williams BiB is garbage. Early Times BiB is much better at that price point. Even WT 101 is better.
@@jghall00 ok, whatever you say, lol ;-D
I would like to see Andre explore scotch in an upcoming episode
He called an unpeated whisky “peaty”, we can do without his take on laphroaig
When he calls a spirit "fruity", it doesn't mean it contains fruit. Just that the aroma reminds him of fruit. An unpeated wine may feel "peaty" but won't be "peated". What a genius comment.
@@michaelheskett3119 just because it's unpeated doesn't mean it can't have smokey, peaty, ashy tones. Dude has been tasting different types of alcohols for more than enough time to hold his own.
What a genuinely likable personality.
this is a fantastic video about bourbon. worth noting (as you already said) that weller special reserve (green label) is NOT worth 90$. it's a 23-30$ bottle for a 750ml and it is fantastic for the price. it is incredibly hard to find a bourbon that will match it for the same price point. others are wild turkey 101, evan williams bottled in bond. just wanting to throw that out there for people who are watching this and new to bourbon.
Yeah, $90 for Weller is crazy. It's a great bourbon, but around these parts (KS) I find it for about $30...
Your comments about WT101 and EW BIB are spot on. WT101 is my go-to for both sipping and for cocktails.
@@drewmcclellan480$90 for anything that’s not BTAC VanWinkle or Michters allocated is crazy in my opinion.
You and I have the same taste in Bourbon. Wild Turkey and EW BIB are my favorite "daily drinker" Bourbons, and those two in particular have a whole lot of vanilla char. I'm glad I can buy a Bourbon that tastes how I prefer it to taste, at that price point.
I picked up a bottle of this for ~$30 here in idaho too and a bottle of weller 12 for $39. You just have to be incredibly lucky to find one on the shelf here.
EWBIB + WT101 is the holy duo
Life Aquatic with Andre Mack
Babe wake up, Andre Mack just posted
I've been waiting for Andre to put out another video! I love all of his takes and learn so much! Thank you for another great episode!!
Solid walkthrough. Thanks for sharing!
So beautifully crafted! Excellent summary of the history of bourbon.
To the best of my knowledge, the DSP KY number refers to the distillery, not the bonded warehouse. KY-1 is the first registered Kentucky distillery (at least currently open)
Another great review session with Andre! Always great to learn more about these products. Thank you!
Thank you for your videos Andre. I love the way you explain, and I’ve learnt so much just by watching them.
I appreciate your take on my favorite spirit and the knowledge you display...cheers sir!
I use the Evan Williams Bottled in Bond to make homemade vanilla extract. Works very nicely at a very reasonable price.
I can listen to this guy all day!
A very masterful video - and a great primer on bourbon. Thank you for making it!
Great info! Thank you!
He's finally back! love your videos.
André! Thank you for what you do!! ❤
I watch a lot of whiskey videos, and I really enjoyed watching this one. It was great to get the perspective of someone whose main thing isn't necessarily Bourbon.
Excellent presentation, thank you
I really love every episode with "Sommelier André Hueston Mack" (that's too much to type so I copy+pasted it). I've been a bourbon drinker for the past 20 years and I watch many bourbon CZcams channels. I learned a lot of new information about bourbon in this one video that I never knew and facts that even dedicated bourbon channels on CZcams never mention. Great!
My fav sommelier doing a bourbon video best Wednesday ever
Great video and explanation to the new whisky drinkers 🥃 I love all your videos !!
Super interesting, great explanations.
favorite of the series so far !
I’ve been waiting for this review for a long time. You don’t disappoint.
Thanks for the lesson.
A new world of wine episode! It feels like it’s been so long!
Great review!
A mini master class on bourbon - excellent as always, sir!
Props on the White Dog. Watching while drinking WT Rare Breed.
love the burn on that
@@JavierJimenez-kn2ob😂beat me to it. Nearly 60% ABV is spicy.
Rare breed is the real MVP. Value pour and readily available anywhere.
Great educational video...the Evan William Bonded is a great buy!
Even as a non-drinker I find these videos with Andre fascinating.
Yet, as a comment bot, you did amazingly! Bravo!
White dog is at the top of my never again list!
Andre makes this channel great!!!👍 keep him plz
Can we just have a series of him trying bourbon? This is great
I love the dedication to the blue jacket. Its become so familiar. Unc Noir Mouton bringing the knowledge
I enjoy deep red wines, so that bourbon finished in wine barrels sounds fascinating to me, might have to give that a try
Great review. I like your presentation style.
I was really impressed with his tasting notes of that entry level Jim beam. Made it sound quite enticing.
Uh-oh. Whisky nerds incoming.
We're here! Ha
@@marinorawmos9759 we're everywhere
Yup! Guilty! lol. I was already here for it tho.
in south korea 24 years ago i bought a bottle of jim beam at a hotel for 115 bucks. they're so valuable they keep your bottle locked up in a cabinet at the bar for you.
Interesting choice of glassware; surprised you didn’t use a glencairn for these tastings, Andre. Great video, I enjoyed this one
I love Maker's Mark for it's unique, rich velvety feel... Buffalo Trace ('normal' (I haven't tried the 'White Dog')) is lovely, and I'll gladly drink 'Jim Beam' till the corn harvest is in... but for me personally, I would climb mountains for 'Wild Turkey 101' which got me hooked way back when I was a late teenager in the 80's while living in York, UK, and I wonder what Andre thinks of this exquisite tipple which I'm sad didn't get to play today.
(Also, it's a shame Andre couldn't pour each and every snifter into Brad Leone to see how that affected his ferments, 😂)
The Basil Hayden’s one sounds incredible! It and the Elijah Craig 18yr sound like must tries.
We need the Andre + Brewzle collab and we need it yesterday
Brewzle is a 🤡
Agreed
THIS
Nah Brewzle is the model for a tater soyjak. Dude just talks about Saz brands all day.
@@r3d4c7 agreed. “I have a budget” dude literally writes it all off and just buys Saz and never drinks them
One of those youtube videos you know is going to be great before it starts ! 🔥👀
In California if you are patient you can often find Weller SR at MSRP or around $22 for 750 ml. It is really smooth and has a distinctive flavor as pointed out in the video.
Nice video...I like your delivery.
I clicked so fast 😅❤ I love Andrew’s videos 🎉
Weller SR is NOT a $90 bottle😂😂😂. MSRP on it is $25, anyone selling for higher is just price gouging
Yep that's secondary or non-control tater pricing. It's a low effort whiskey. No age, no proof. Literally Weller's bottom tier product. It's a 20 dollar bottle and drinks like one. Not a lot going on.
There is near to zero chance you can find a bottle of Weller SR at SRP in California
Usually around $40-$60 around here.
@@bobodapopperIf you're patient and/or willing to hunt you can find it for $35-$40 even in Cali
The lowest I have seen it SoCal is $80. I had a pour of it and I can’t spend $80 on a bourbon knowing there are better ones at that price range. $40-$50 is not bad.
Very straight forward analysis. I was expecting rankings. Would love to see the analysis blind
Great video!
That soundtrack change at 14:26 is hitting me hard :D
I have been a bourbon drinker for akmost 60 years and Williams BIB and Wild Turkey 101 are staples. Fantastic review!.
I love the elijah craig single barrel 12yo, still got a few older ones in my stash!
Evan WIlliams Bottled In Bond is a delight for the price.
I adore André because his knowledge of wines & liquors is awesome.
Bourbon is a lil rough for me. My Father drank it.
I’d also highly recommend Wild Turkey 101 & Buffalo Trace Kentucky straight. Both are phenomenal in taste, quality & value. Cheers 🥃
Getting lit for our sake. Salute 🫡
If you paid $90 for Weller SR....you got robbed!!!
Did you finish the video where he said he got 2x the size for half the price in a different state? Literally every state has a different price...
@@Prophecy6 To some degree, but some stores mark up anything made by buffalo trace like crazy... 90 is wild.
would love to see a conversation w a wine distributor!! esp since i've been encouraged to shop "by the distributor"
It hit me by the end of the video that this did just gets hammered every episode. If each taste is half a shot he’s getting drunk for sure lol
Living legend !
Weller is only that expensive if you're trying to find it somewhere outside the distillery. If you get lucky and they're selling it the morning you show up, you can get it for about half that if I remember correctly. One of my favorites.
I would love to see Andre taste a run of scotch whiskies!
video: price of weller varies significantly by location
commenters: tHaTs nOt wHat wEller coSTS
True, but $90 is not a price variation... that's larceny (no pun intended)
90 is well above MSRP on that bottle. Retailers are gouging consumers and at $90 they should let it sit on the shelf because it's not even great compared to some $30 bottles.
Lol
Small markup is expected. Even 2x MSRP in some cases. Weller Special Reserve is $30. $90 is 3x markup for a bottle that isn't hard to find.
Love me some bourbon, but whiskey nerds are worst than craft brew nerds
OMG - how great are these segments?
Never seen a dog mash review very interesting
For us over the pond in the UK, 70cl of Jim Beam comes in at around £18 and the 37.5cl Buffalo Trace White Dog is around £25... quite the difference to US pricing.
Cheers
A video about rum would be great!
nice video, very informative.
where is the drinking glass that you used sold.
Message flashed across vid saying that glass is no longer produced
Andrew is my new favorite whiskey reviewer
"You can go out and buy something for $15".
Laughs in Australian.
Thank you. This came across my in box just now. I am a Kentuckian, all my life. I drink bourbon and vodka. This video was a hoot! Where can I get that glass?
André if you liked those bourbons then I would be interested to see what are your thoughts on the BARREL CRAFT SPIRITS:
Barrell Bourbon Cask Finish: Bourbon with Tale of Two Islands Rum Finish.
&
Barrell Bourbon Cask Finish: Bourbon Amburana Finish.
That incredible whisky gathering, anyway you so ..... hehe
I get completely different notes on Makers cask. It's amazing juice.
i have a bottle of White Dog on my shelf that's been opened once in the past 10 years. that was the first time it was opened.
i've got to add the four roses bourbon to my list!
Their single barrel is only a bit more and worth the premium. The small batch is really tasty too.
Great video, allot of noise about bourbon and whiskey, you boil it down very well.
I would like to see a video of your personal favorites and top recommendations of wines please
i would love andre to taste and compare different styles of beers
Would love to see a similar video on rum
On entry Definitely an acquired taste, that’s what she said😂
Weller sr was made as a bottom shelf bourbon and now its getting near $100 on the secondary market. Craziness.
Near? Try well over. Seen it for more than 200.
@@JL-gt1kcthat’s insane! I typically see it for $75…still $50 too much. It’s bottom shelf juice. Not bad, but worth $25. For $75 you can get exceptional whisky
Early times B&B all day. Best value bourbon out there
I know he was more talking about what "cask strength" was on the Maker's but I wish he would have also noted that Maker's is a wheated bourbon as opposed to the previous ones that were rye as the 2ndary grain bourbons.
Also, that Weller Special Reserve is not $90, nor should anyone ever be paying that much for that bottle. It's very plain wheated bourbon and the MSRP is about $25.
He got it in NY, in NY it’s $90 or so
There is a note when talking about Weller that Makers is wheaten as well
Widow Jane 13 "really mineral driven" sounds like Dickel
widow jane IS dickel
yeah that's cuz it's made with dickel. not really made in new york like he thinks lol
_Schmickel_ bloodhound
Wild Turkey 101, you’re welcome. Now I’d like a beer episode, please
Apparently the new Jim Beam Black 7 year is better. Many WT lovers are shocked
@@Zwikster Thanks for the heads up, now beer me! 🤣
@@Zwikster id still take the wt 101 pretty easily
You had me at wallet missing 😅
I remember when Weller 12-year (not the NAS special reserve) was $40 and easy to find!
Jim Beam shot is the best prework out because it numbs the arthritis and has 100 calories or so
