    We finally made it to Texas! This is a vlog + review + jiu jitsu training! We review a Garrison Brothers Store Pick with our new friends over at Reding Martial Arts in Denton Texas. As far as we know they are the first Martial Arts School to do a barrel pick! These guys were awesome and it was an awesome trip! Thanks for taking the time out of your day to watch this!

    I have a bottle of the pot still bourbon from Balcones and I’m trying to understand Texas whiskey style more so I can enjoy it. How is it that the hot Texas weather can pull lots of barrel flavor in a short time, but still have that harsh flavor of alcohol that is typically found in young whiskey? It seems Texas style whiskey matures quicker in some ways but not in others? Is there a catch 22 in Texas whiskey aging? I love your channel, Thank you!

      @BourbonJunkies  Před 3 lety +1

      Because normally it is young whiskey, it gets so much barrel so fast that they can't keep aging it.

      @@BourbonJunkies when I hear someone say Texas whiskey ages quicker, I think its BS and misleading. Because it doesn’t at all. A 2 year old whiskey still taste like a 2 year old whiskey, regardless of the hot Texas weather.

    3 mins in and no footage of Dan’s body cavity search, and Shawn wasn’t driving a convertible Miata?
    Curious if the feet smell influenced tasting notes, and why did that guy hate Balcones?

    Was that one of those kung fu ninja tojos?? Did they have one of those "flying guillotines" like in the movies? I've only had one TX bourbon and it has lots of great flavors but at 24 months, it could use another 6 to 12 months to better round out. Good to see you guys getting on the mat and learning to snap off arms and stuff.

      I'm sure Mark and Larry both can pull off some fancy shit. Us however need everything in slow motion.. That Garrison pick we got is by far the best Texas whiskey I've had.

    Agree with the cinnamon note but every Garrison product I have tried has a strange cardboard note on the finish? Is that what you are calling tobacco?

    • @BourbonJunkies
      @BourbonJunkies  Před 5 lety

      Hahaha now I have to try this and think cardboard to see if I get that
