Shanahan is the one coach Belicheck couldn't figure out.
I would say Coughlin gave BB a harder time.
Jester shark Coughlin only played Belicheck a few times. Shanahan played him almost every year and beat him almost every time
Doesn't really matter when Belichick has 7 Super Bowl rings.
Shanahan won one more game than Bill did. Mile High Advantage. A lot depends on who the team was. No doubt both are great coaches, but the goal is not to beat one team, the goal is to get to the Superbowl. But Belichick got his revenge by sending Josh McDaniels to Denver.
It’s because unlike say the 90 Bills, or 01 Rams, or Peyton Manning Colts, Shanahan teams stuck to the running game.

Bill Belichick is my favorite. Just the way he holds himself the way he controls his team. How every year he sifts through all these players and get what he needs out of them. He is just dead serious his players know it. Also great segment with Mike Shanahan, it's segments like that one is the reason I listen to you Colin.

Bill Parcells. Two Super Bowls and the best coaching tree of any coach in history other than Paul Brown (including Bill Belichick, Tom Coughlin and Sean Payton.
Dr. Fritz Fassbender, Bill Walsh has a much better and bigger coaching tree
Walsh's tree may be bigger with more coaches that worked under him, but Parcells has more Super Bowls under his coaching tree than Walsh (10 -9). And if you want to go further: You can add Nick Saban's five national titles being part of the Parcell's (and Belichick) tree. Make no mistake: Bill Walsh has been one greatest and most influential coaches ever. I just think that because he has way more coaches in his coaching tree they haven't been quite as successful in winning titles as the coaches under Parcells / Belichick. And so I give The Big Tuna the edge.

Mr. Cowherd, you ask questions to get answers to support your opinions and not to uncover real truth. And if Elway loved Shanny so much then why hasn't he invited him back to coach. He certainly has had some openings!!!!!! Colin, a real true interviewer would have asked that EXACT question. But he did not want to put any pressure on Shanny or hurt is reputation.
Elway wants a yes man for his coach...Shanny wouldn't do that.
