    In this video we take a look at how to add readouts for telemetry, channels, switches, and more on your home screen. Hell, you can even have multiple screens. This video comes in response from a viewer's question, asking how to display the aircraft voltage on the home screen. We look at how to do that and more.

    Thanks for mentioning the AIN2 voltage input from receiver to receiver. I blew out all the servos on my plane when I got voltage measurement working great on my R8 Pro then tried the same thing on my SR6. It seems that on the original Archer receivers only the Pro versions can take full Vbatt. I blew out another set of servos thinking that the red wire from the AIN2 cable was what I needed to connect to my battery, only to realize that was SBUS power (5v) and not the AIN2 pin. Thankfully I only destroyed a handful of cheap servos and not the receivers.

    I am trying to get telemetry data from a chain of SBus sensors (GPS, flight battery current sensor, etc.) through my TD SR6 to my X20 HD. My question is: where do I plug in the head of the chain connector and where in Ethos do I configure the string as SBus. I notice that if I touch the RX1 TDSR6 in the RF System page, I get some tantalizing options, but I can't figure out the details. Any help would be appreciated...

    • @MrD
      @MrD  Před měsícem

      These sensors are usually SmartPort (or FBUS). So they should daisy chain together. Then plug in to the SmartPort (S.Port) connection on your receiver.
      Then on the transmitter you’d just need to discover new sensors on the telemetry menu.

    • @bilbag911
      @bilbag911 Před měsícem

      That's the problem: neither my SR6 nor my SR18 have an S.Port connector, just connectors marked 1 through 6 (or 1 through 18)...

    • @MrD
      @MrD  Před měsícem

      You should be able to assign one of those ports to SPort. It will be in the receiver options.
      With the SR6 it’s on the white connector on the top. From the left, you have - + S. S is the SPort connection.

    can you do one on the new X20Pro AW on how to adjust the gimbals to 45 . i cant seem to find anywhere saying how to do it

    • @MrD
      @MrD  Před měsícem

      I don’t get what you mean about setting the gimbals to 45? The pro radios are basically the same. The only difference is a couple of switch and slider types, an extra haptic motor, and a different function for one of the external antennas. Other than that, they’re identical.

    • @jjames5928
      @jjames5928 Před měsícem

      @MrD their not identical according to the website.
      X20ProAW and X20Rs use MC20R gimblas wich are adjusted front the front but Nobody has put out information on how to do it .
      The Standard X20pro uses the MC20 gimbals They are not the same gimbals according to Frsky
      They can aperantly be set from 45° to 60° without the use of a stick Limiter kit

    • @MrD
      @MrD  Před měsícem

      @@jjames5928 ah yes, I see the little holes. Sorry, I don’t have that radio or those gimbals. So I can’t offer any advice.
      Personally I’m not a fan of front adjustment of gimbals. I’d rather take the back off once. Than have the holes on the front all the time, inviting dust and debris inside the radio.

    • @jjames5928
      @jjames5928 Před měsícem

      @MrD makes sense. We'll hopefully some info comes into light. I prefer to have my gimbals go to 45° or somewhere in between
      I think once I have them set I'll use a very small amount of Goop and plug the holes to prevent debris from entering the internals

    Request to lua script developers: It would be great to have a widget to display number of satellites. This would enable a quick & easy way to know when you get enough satellites to enable inav to arm. . I cant see this as a telemetry value so this must be some internal data format not available to the telemetry values list. There are many parameters available on say the yaapu full screen lua script that do not appear on the telemetry list so many of these would be great to have as individual lua widgets such as distance to home or glide ange to home etc. If these appear in the telemetry values list you could also get Ethos to play these out as audio when you have the goggles on. Maybe there is a way to already do this. Anyone know how to?

    • @MrD
      @MrD  Před 6 měsíci

      What telemetry are you using? If this is INAV over SmartPort. The number of sats are in the Tmp2 sensor. The last 2 digits are the satellite count.

    • @spjv01
      @spjv01 Před 6 měsíci

      @@MrD I'm using INAV over SmartPort but Tmp2 sensor does not appear, neither does the Tmp1. I'm getting temp1 & temp2 sensors but these are set to temperature but the readings are nonsense. I googled the INAV sensor list at inav/docs/telemetry_md and I found that also missing was 420, 430, 440, 450 & 460. I'd particularly like to get 420 as this is distance to home but I've since discovered that this can be got using a calculated sensor using the formula 'distance'.

    • @MrD
      @MrD  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Tmp 1 and 2 are flight modes and GPS respectively. It sounds like the sensors may be being renamed somewhere. Tmp2 should be a 4 digit number. The first is a bitmask for the GPS status, the second is the quality, and the last 2 digits are the number of satellites. I’ll investigate and see what I can find.

    Great video I learned a lot, but I have slightly different scenario. My balance connector is currently being used for Fpv equipment, and three out of my four telemetry wires are being used for telemetry currently, so I do not have a black wire which is already being used, I assume the A2 wire will go to the main battery positive. Is that correct? thank you for your time. This particular subject is not well covered. Kiwi4. czcams.com/video/CWxakfTs71w/video.htmlsi=eKcdqMTrNJgygnGj

      Yes, AIN2 wire to main battery positive, the - to the main battery negative. That’s all I’m doing with the balance cable adapter. Just make sure the AIN2 on that particular receiver can handle the full battery voltage.
