Been super impressed with the Wessex instruments. Played a Wessex Tenor Horn at NABBA earlier this year and loved it. Expected the price to be in the $3k-$4k range as it played like the other horns priced at that level...shocked at the actual price.
As a tuba player who greatly admires horn players, I've always been fascinated with the wagner tuba. I hope to see you use it in a loop or multitrack someday! Wessex is awesome, too; I have an XL (big BBb tuba) and I've been trying to save up for a Bombino (small Eb tuba). Wessex may have amazing pricing but it's still a tuba, not exactly something you can impulse buy. xD Great to see you back!
MikuJess My Dolce euphonium just got sent in the mail today! I can't wait to finally play a compensating horn. If this turns out to be good, I'll definitely be getting more from them - I'm a low brass player in general, and I'd love to get a cheap Bb tuba, and symphonic and jazz trombones.

How do you like the XL? I was thinking of purchasing one but they're unavailable now. Big sound?
I played the Wessex Wagner Tuba at TMEA this year. Loved every minute of it. As a low horn player it's really nice to have the trigger play pedal C. Not that I need help, but it's super useful for bass parts and makes that pedal range much more viable. As far as the high range, it's definitely harder to play high like you said, since it's a bigger horn. There are tuning issues, sure, but for $850 it's a hell of a horn.

Thanks for posting this. I've been thinking about getting a Wagner Tuba after years of wishing I had one and had no idea this was an option. Looks better, if only slightly, than the ebay option for not much more.

anything you know about piccolo horns?
They sound terrible, impossible to tune but they're a funny joke.
I purchased a piccolo horn a few months ago. It's not great; I let my 9 year old use it to learn on until he's big enough to hold a full size.

BroBeans | Manufactured in China. If I understand correctly they’re stencil horns made by JinBao, but they do upgrade and improve the instruments.
Does it come with a mouthpiece?
I have no idea but if you’re a horn player it doesn’t matter because you already have one
Are fingerings the same as French Horn? I’m looking into getting one but I’m worried about having to relearn my fingerings and stuff.

Rafachafa Since the Wagner tuba is tuned in F/Bb, like a double horn, the fingerings will be the same.
Learning new fingerings isn't hard at all, you get used to it quickly
Do you play any Euph? If so, if you could review Dolce or Festivo from Wessex that would be really cool!

FhornPatrick ah, shame! My first thought is how you'd never be able to do anything fun like Drum Corps or Brass Band but then again I'll never play in an orchestra!
JCON mellophone is basically a marching horn
No No played with the wrong hand, wrong mouthpiece, wrong type of valves, and less range
can be played with the same mouthpiece, I don't know where you are getting the less range bit but i still have pretty similar, if not more range on mellophone. Yeah its played like a trumpet but its in the key of F like a horn and its basically like a substitute for a horn in most marching bands. Correct me if I'm wrong but i'm pretty sure that's correct

Kim Jong Un long tones! Always long tones, don’t rush into playing pedal notes, practice a note till it sounds decent before further expanding your range

Mouthpiece matters !! Must get one w extra deep cup - it really helps (and of course the opposite, for High Horn players)
