Yeah i didn't like 7mm. I went with 024 valves. Much better for daily
7mm's are just too hot for my air setup (for now)
@@slowaf12v I more just didn't like how it was so easy to spin wheels off road. That initial jolt as you let out the clutch. Didn't bother me on pavement but on dirt it sucks. If I started out on a hill in (first/second) it would wheel spin to easy and if it was muddy I might even get stuck because of it
I could start in low alright on dirt with out tire spin but I hate having to do that.
Now that doesn't happen anymore. Installed 024s and 7x10s I need more air tho as well. Want to do compounds but may be a year before I can afford it

Tell me about the 191's you had.
I just installed 191's, bosch 5x14 injector nozzles and a 60/67/12 hx35 today. I am still getting a couple of kinks worked out but not sure how I feel about the 191's yet
191's are not nearly as hot as 7mm or .025's you should see the hx35 light very quick with that setup!
What would be the easy way to gain 100-150 foot pounds of torque out of my stock 1997 3500 12v p-pump? I need a little more power for pulling my trailer but still want to keep it reliable? My truck has factory egr valve ( California ).
Egr Delete for sure would help! Afc Adjustments, Delivery Valves...not gain HP but, would also recommend governor springs
@@slowaf12v can I use an exhaust brake with an automatic transmission; or is that just for trucks with manual Tran's?
@@MarcoRodriguez-lr2xtyou can, but you have to have a lockup switch for the convertor and need stiffer exhaust springs.

Do you lose any reliability in this power range? I'd like to make in the 450 range for a build I'm doing. What do you think about mating to an NV4500? Truck will be daily, tow, trail rig
With a good clutch an nv4500 will be fine! Maybe Weld the 5th gear nut though
Agree, good dual disc clutch that comes with the 1 3/8" input shaft, get the 5th gear nut kit, if that still blows, just build it with a full spline main shaft and add a cast iron tailhousing makes a big difference and make sure to fill 1 quart over factory recommend fill is standard practice with 4500s

If you go off calculators how do you figure you're getting 450-500hp? I'm not being an asshole in the slightest, honest question. My 66/74/14, stock dv/injector/timing (until I get a trans) truck runs 15 flat at 96 with a trans slipping hard into 2nd off a 5psi launch. According to calculations I'm at maybe 380-385whp. Like I said I'm not trying to be an asshole by any means, I just don't see the mid-low 15s making almost 500 unless you're not talking WHP. Sweet build, cool to see the other dinosaurs still tearing up the streets 👍
My calculations would be strictly crank HP, with components of fueling and air at the time of filming 400-450hp would be where I believe the engine was at HP wise, I apologize for the confusion...thanks for watching
Stock injectors and such you won't see much faster than a 15. When I had stock sticks with a 60/67, 4ks, 215 pump at 18°, afc stuff, hot rod lift pump and lines, could only hit 15 flat(built 5spd ceramic south bend). Once I went to 5x14s and bumped timing to 21° and retuned afc, I was able to hit 14.7 all day. Once I went with a 62/67 size turbo and again retuned the afc I saw 14.1-14.3 depending on elevation and temp. That's a long box 4x4 extra cab scaled at 6900lbs. Translates roughly to high 400s hp. To crack 13s, could maybe bump timing a couple degrees, maybe go bigger DVs, Might crack 13s. You need about 525+ HP at that weight
Also not being a jerk but a 66 mm turbo with stock fueling and timing doesn’t make much sense, and you might not be making 380.
My truck is 480 HP and 1050 TQ at the wheels (chassis dyno). Bring your truck to my shop and I’ll help you.
@ericdelanoy5896 it was a temp deal until I got a trans. The turbo gave out so I went with what the setup I wanted and ran laggy fueling and timing lol. Truck ran 14.8 with that setup
