WHAT IS TALK HEATHEN?
Talk Heathen is a weekly call-in television show in Austin, Texas geared toward long-form and on-going dialogue with theists & atheists about religion, theism, & secularism. Talk Heathen is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.
The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop & support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing & friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of government-religion separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists & to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

The yelling, the rambling run-on sentences and his insistence on using "evidence" of observing the universe with our naked eyes? Yes, that is painful to hear. Observable evidence was what led many people to believe erroneously for centuries that the sun orbited the earth rather than vice versa.
The hosts were very chill about it, so props to them.

700 billion people gives us 183.8 sq meters per person. Or about a quarter that if you only count land area.
So we’d all have elbow room and could walk around. But alone time might be an issue. Lots and lots of skyscrapers could alleviate that problem.
However, given our current limits to resources, the population would be rapidly falling. Thus that area per person would rapidly increase.

Probably like that episode of Star Trek where the masses were so crowded there was standing room only. Can’t remember which episode that was. I just remember the scene with crowd outside the windows just bumping against each other.

Pertaining to the “Hakiem” call you guys should be able to realize when you are talking to someone who doesn’t have the same level of vocabulary as you do and talk at the same level. He kept using “analogy” incorrectly and misunderstanding your points etc because you guys weren’t using very very basic English. Also when you made jokes or other non related comments to the side, everything was going over his head, confusing him and making it worse. He started getting offended because he couldn’t follow anything you were saying. Next time you have to talk to callers like that with much more basic language and logic.

I'm going to have to disagree. If you're a willing participant in a call on a show like this you should probly have your ducks in a row. You should probably have a little bit more knowledge about the planet and the galaxys at least enough terminology to know how to have a rebuttal. I'm sure that they heard the misuse of some of his words and they were bigger people as to not make fun of him for that.
I laughed when Hakiem responded to their apology for being antagonistic with, "No pun intended." It's like this guy just vomits whatever buzzwords he remembers hearing at some point in his life and expecting it to make sense.

Hakiem's reasoning started to sound like "I think the husband murdered his wife, my evidence is that she is dead, therefore the husband MUST have killed her." "we have a stack of red and blue cards. It's hidden from view. Would you believe me if I said the top card IS red? No? Ok, does that mean you are definitely saying the top card IS blue? No? Ok, then rejecting the claim of red is not accepting the claim of blue, it simply means it's indeterminate because no evidence supports either claim until we look."

1. I am not in Europe, I live in Colombia, SouthAmerica, 2. My sickness, I would try to do the best to explain you what it is, so bear with me, I have a arteriovenous malformation in the left thalamic part of my brain since I was 10 years old, I suffer from depression and hard ass migraines that made me faint (what I called crisis), my right side is mess up, like I cannot move it as my left side, I have to use a brace to walk, I suffered from epilepsy, I was taking 28 pills daily and thanks to my mom and my sister I am not taking anything right now, I receive pension due to the fact that I was working and then the crisis came and I couldn't move my right side, I couldn't even feel it, the neurologist told me that I couldn't play anything at all not even chess, cause that would make me stress therefore my malformation would explode, I am retired due to my sickness and I am working as a streamer and I am kinda of youtuber and well I am so sorry but I had to tell you where I am coming from and I had to tell you a little bit about myself, I hope that I answered every single question.

He really got lost during the dice analogy and stopped listening. He was just being quiet to show respect and kept answering yes until it was his turn to talk. Everything went in one ear and out the other. The answer that he needed to hear is that we are a product of a bunch of chaos that happened and over a long time it settled this way. As we evolved we learned to study and label events like time and days and stars and star positions. I think the guy thinks that everything was as is all at once like during a human lifetime.
