#Prometheus #David - Krátké a kreslené filmy
The design team for the Prometheus deserves an award. It's the coolest looking spaceship I've ever seen.
The Use of a Glass structure around the Bridge of a Spaceship doesn’t seem practical because of integrity issues against Astroid debris and during re-entry into a Planet’s Atmosphere
@@PHN-2024 Cool and practical aren't always the same thing.

Prometheus while not a great “ Alien “ movie is a Sci-Fi classic in its own right . One of the most visually stunning SFX movie ever .
Agree on all counts. Own it on Blu-ray.
Exactly 💯
Yup. Awesome ship design too.
It's different.
An exceptional alien movie
1:27 that is the best pilot deck I ever seen. Very logical way to see all-terrain and make sure you know where you are headed.
I heard they designed the ship like a beatle, imagining that the bridge of the ship is kind of like the head partially concealed by large overhead armor plating. I think the underslung bridge makes the ship incredibily unique, practical and beautiful
@@budja1501 and no seatbelts. Very logical
@@chandrakant1479 But what would those be useful for? _safety?_ that’s an absurd notion
@@budja1501 Sure. But it is the captain who asks everyone to buckle up in this movie 😝
@@chandrakant1479 lmao
Man, the thought of landing on a planet while knowing you are one of the only human that ever travelled furthest in space, and upon landing on said planet, you found an artificial structure/objects, that you 100% sure aren't human-made, because again, you're among the 1st human to have travelled there, is so staggering.
Exciting and terrifying because you don't know if that civilization that built them are benevolent or hostile and if they are the latter what do you do if they come after you? Even worse if they seek to obliterate your homeworld (Earth)....which is actually what happens in this case. But ya I'd be freaking out if I was on that ship and saw those weird buildings. It'd be fascinating to explore at the same time.
Another part of me would be like we better gtfo. Actually a situation like that would be ideal for drones/robots to explore first in case there is something dangerous there. Who knows if it's carrying deadly pathogens or creatures. It's insane to send in humans first. I think one day this will happen, maybe hundreds or thousands of years from now when our descendants travel to other star systems.
Yeah ... and then they get depressed and one of them stats to get drunk over it. And I was thinking, what the fuck is wrong with you? You made one of the largest discoveries in human history! Sure not what you hoped for but still.
And then you find giant human head
The problem is that we, the viewers, are familiar with the Star Trek universe and how they handle a potential first contact situation. It doesn't help that David and Weyland had their own agenda that doesn't align with the stated mission of exploration.
Then, your geologist loses his mind, followed by the mapmaker inexplicably getting lost, and when they encountered the Hammerpede it endangered the entire mission.
@@StarrDust0I wrote a fanfiction about how Picard's Enterprise would have handled a possible archaeology mission that turned into a recovery mission, 250 years after Prometheus.
I love this scene SO much, you're basically on the most awesome camping trip with the best possible RV ever!
With people you can barely stand.. just like irl 😅
I can never get enough of this MAGNIFICENT spaceship!
if you like huge spaceships and like games, play Star Citizen, you can own a frigate 20 times bigger than this ship, and ofcourse, pilot it into space!
@@heoar12 The game that was supposed to be released in 2014, but $400 million and 8 years later still doesn't work?
@@TheInfamousMrFox - I don't care if it takes 20 years to complete. if I can land a Prometheus sized ship on another world I'll be living a dream. 🙂
@@hycron1234 Have you tried Elite Dangerous?
At least that works.
@@hycron1234 Then you'll like Starfield once it comes out. Player's starter ship resembles Prometheus.
Such a shame, this movie started so well.
This scene was so incredible.
right they should add one boob scene or something
I blame Damon Lindelof, lazy f'ing writer that guy...
Another scene that was incredible was David in the orderly of the alien ship... the stars constellation scene was mesmerizing.
yeah - the writing is so bad in this one
@@rockpadstudios Good actors and actresses... yet if I recall the ending was a real dud
The Prometheus is a pretty badass ship.
Indeed, but too bad she wasn’t armed with some kind of defense system, ei: ICMs. But for not, as she was strictly a research/exploration ship. Should she had been armed, she and the last of the crew would’ve survived.
The concept of the movie and vfx is just sooooo good that even with the horrible execution, the movie is watchable.
Humans landing on a planet that had habitants, even the thought of it is surreal.
This movie is sick, you guys are just too dumb to understand it. Lucifer was made from the gods due to human temptation, it was perfectly executed. The actual bummer is that covenant couldn’t properly follow up thematically
So many issues with this movie, but you can't deny it had some great visuals in a lot of places.
Man i wish mankind can ever build such a beautiful spaceship in the future.
“Prometheus was punished by the gods for giving the gift of knowledge to man. He was cast into the bowels of the Earth and pecked by birds.”
-Oracle Turret
My favorite ship of all time
This really could've been a masterpiece. A revised Director's cut with deleted scenes and the extended interaction with the Engineer could fix it up a bit. And that's ok! Ridley's Director's Cut of the original ALIEN improved it drastically!
Give it to Jack Snyder. He'll do the job.
4:05 I don't know why, but I fucking love this line
“I’d be delighted…”
We know David 😅
This movie and its sequels could have had so much amazing storytelling potential, too bad they botched it all.
This landing is more realistic than that of the moon landing haha
I should receive my model kit of this ship this month. She will be at the scale 1/1000. I'm soooooo excited.
I love the design of Heliades-class space exploration vehicle USCSS Prometheus!
One thing I never understood is that they landed Prometheus on the surface, it would be foolish to land a spacefaring ship with its inter-stellar engines on to the surface of a planet, it’s always better to keep the mothership in orbit and use smaller landing craft.
If we're going to start talking logic in this movie, we'll be here a long time. Looks pretty though. Maybe just turn off the sound.
You have watched too many starwars movies
What makes you think they didnt switch the engines to "Atmospheric"? This is no Imperial cruiser - and the ship is small enough not to need to use a smaller craft....and leave planet surface....
Aliens: sulaco on orbit around the moon LV-426 and run away due to inminent thermonuclear explosion, something you don´t know the first time is rare that it turns out well and less a stronger, faster and posibly smarter extraterrestrial creature
your mom used a smaller landing craft
This movie is dope as hell, dont care what anyone says
I don't remember understanding this movie very well, but I do remember it looked fantastic. It had a lot the first movie's look, but with the occasional splash of color.
Say what you will about the writing, characters, and story(because there's A LOT to say about those aspects) but if there're a couple things that Prometheus does manage to nail in its own right it's atmosphere, art, and music.
One of the many: "could have been great" movies. Some nice clips remain.
Also, that's how KSP should look like.
That Lawrence of Arabia quote is funny because Michael Fassbender bears a striking resemblance to Peter O'Toole
Only people who hate this movie are clearly the ones that lack imagination. This movie was a masterpiece. They could do a whole movie based on the engineer's orgin and I wouldn't be mad 🤷♂️💯
That's what I was expecting when the second part was brought up but nooooooo HC fans wanted blood they got it.... sigh
How am I just realising what a great Ozymandias Fassbender would make??
That is one damn fine looking ship. Wouldn't mind commanding one.
Lol youtubes like “landing” lol
beats crashing for sure
Ya know, it was ridiculous. But I thoroughly enjoyed it at the cinema. The 3D implementation was the best I've seen.
What a good movie this could had been.
I really liked this movie's world building. I kinda have a thing for making up sci fi terrestrial planets, and this really caught my full attention
One of my favorite scenes of all time. I want to try to recreate it in Unreal Engine.
Cant believe this is 10 years old
I love the starship.
I wanna watch more cool movies with cool starships.
Movies that have to do with space exploration, mystery and cool starships with a detailed environment.
Most modern hollywood movies with spaceships are often too dark tinted and not as detailed as this.
Another movie I was intrigued by was Passengers. Also loved Star Wars Ep. II & III.
It's a very good movie, period
This scene alone makes this movie wort it.
I like all the Alien movies ! Some I like a lot more than others but I do like every one !
Looks good how all of them are strapped in. Great to what Ravel said and then Ford says.
This movie was incredible.
The acting in this film, aside from Fassbender, was at The Room level.
This movie to me is so misunderstood, I don't give a fuck what the critics say, this is a damn fine adventure and I love it!!!!...
Something that's kinda weird is how disapointed they've been about what they found. They hoped to get in contact with something and finding their "creators". I get that. But as far as scientistst and explorers go they would have still been amazed that they found anything at all. Traces of a civilisation, technology from alien beings. It doesn't matter in the end. Because it would still be the most important braketrough in human history if they found even just traces of intelligent life. Leave alone any technology.
can u imagine seeing for the first time, then u can't imagine discovering something on mars
Insulting David was not a good move.
to y'all : stop your whining, enjoy the masterpiece
Is this captain from Bmore?
"Dooo tha"
All due respect to those who created this film but Nostromo's landing upon Lv 426 was far more gripping.
Give this movie it's due, even if it isn't in the same league as Alien. It was still an absolutely gorgeous scene. I should be seeing this stuff in VR, we have the technology to make consumer VR movies that look this good - hopefully the next decade introduces some.
Its the lack of a score in the landing scene.
Prometheus looks a lot like the Nostromo from Alien 1979
Love that ship
How promising the movie up until this moment. And then everything goes to shit once a crew member removes the helmet.
oh yeah, this is when a ship full of "scientists" decide to immediately land, no probe, not even a single orbit. they magically immediately find the structure they need to, then get into a race to be the most unscientific person in human history. From removing our helmets immediately to sticking unknown substances and lifeforms right into our faces. Lets not forget the angry geologist, who has never seen anything interesting in his life, except rocks.
4:09 Night King from GOT
Always wondered why not land the ship a lot closer so they wouldn’t have to drive so far?
Proof that special effects can't save a movie, if the script is bad
I hate to say it, but the ship seems incredibly small to have gone to another star system. Like the ship in Pandora, it should've been immense. Or perhaps a short explanation of it having a stardrive that didn't have to require massive amounts of fuel to cross such vast distances.
Janek: Gentlemen, I can handle this myself. Feel free to join Miss Vickers.
Ravel : With all due respect, captain, you're a shit pilot and you're gonna need all the help you can get.
I like the old analog ship scenes from Alien 1 better.
Just reealized there were so many more of the ships lined up behind the first one the humans enter. Was that explained? I havent scene this in a while and stumbling into scenes clips.
Ridley scoot continuation Alien series part My dream❤
Second best space ship after Avatars
True. The boxes-with-a-rocket-nozzle ships in "The Expanse" are also good contenders in terms of realistic spacecraft and space warfare. "Interstellar"'s Endurance and its shuttles are also of note.
The one from game of thrones who played the medical person literally screamed at the slightest thing
They make it sound too routine. Even if space travel is routine, finding ruins like this would be an awe inspiring moment, even for spacecraft pilots. They seem too casual and unprofessional. Like a pontoon plane taking campers to a remote lake. (Spoilers)
I guess that’s why they all got wiped out. Holloway was a complete prick…
The ship design is singularly inspired, the musical score and the visual were majestic, Fassbender's David was simply incredible. The plot and the characters with the exception of David were absolutely trash.
If you like breathing through an exhaust pipe C02 is 3 % DAH ! what comes out of an exhaust pipe is carbon monoxide not carbon dioxide !
Brilliant movie
hey all of you whiners, do you even know what movie David keeps quoting? Lawrence of Arabia. that's a classic
brilliant scifi project linked up with a horrible disaster one. prometheus was a good start to explain engineer's universe but they screwed up in covenant and we are back to the style of full arcade xenamorphs hunt.
All the Art Direction in the world could not save this movie. Visuals : 10/10, Plot : 0,5/10. Enough said.
did he open the presents ?
Oh did he ever..
the presents opened him
You could park a truck in that cockpit. Hollywood.
It's the future man!
@@BeCoShooter Even in that time, space would be at a premium in a spaceship. Hollywood.
@@lexas1 Nope,Weyland-Yutani funded expedition.
She’s thicc! What a beautiful ship
Film sets are almost always built to allow room for big cameras to move around.
Such wonderful ship design, such wonderful effects, and above all, such talented actors. Too bad the script and the editing turned out to be a diarrhea of incoherent plots and subplots.
Not a great movie.
But best ship design in all of Sci-Fi.
They cut out the most important scene whey edited it when the engineer explained humans and their reason for not contacting us again.
How can I replicate that ship in Starfield?
40700 km Aquatorring x2.26
I thought of Prometheus after watching the Starfield trailer.
Are they going in five by five?
I think Stringer Bell is taking this whole "keep away from end product" thing a little too seriously.
So small will promissed with prometheus 92000 km Lenght Ship is Ship🏁
“Why don’t you leave it til the morning”.
I won’t make any difference.
"This is rumor control. Here are the facts"
God the dialogue and acting in this film is especially atrocious. Idk if the beautiful shots outweigh that
That's how I feel about it. Such a waste of a ship.
Once again, producers ruin what could have been a masterpiece.
how can you measure years outside your solar system ?... bizarre
and just like that, mankind's destiny sealed.
The crew of this spacecraft managed to find a needle in a haystack on the first try either they were lucky or the screenplay was just lazy.
no they knew where to go roughly based on the astronomical data matching the cave paintings they found across earth.
@@SuCKeRPunCH187 no, not at all. they only went to a planet that fit the description of cavemen wall scribblings. There are endless approaches to the planet, but indeed they happened to stumble right on the 'right' path. Unrealistic, but it's unrealistic too to believe it's something to fall over since nobody is going to sit 40 days just untill they finally stumble upon things in 'realistical' approach. just enjoy the movie.
To bad, if people really cared to know or would pursuit it they wouldn't ask stupid questions in ones mind.while they had rough data from the movie ,the extended media from weyland files from the arg website indicates & alludes that they knew exactly where to go or at least on a need to know rank basis such as weyland ,meredith, david & maybe his bodyguards & the pilot but as others mentioned most was automated with david plotting the course of entry & landing site with the pilot just having to manually land it.not in the film sure but its hinted behind certain details put together .also in the comics its shown that weyland had a company drone satellite survey the planet & area of landing when an "abrupt" loss of signal right in that valley.
@@manoahvanderwolf3259 Agreed they could have at least had some throw away dialogue about David doing some preliminary surface scans in orbit when they arrived and narrowing down to "point of interests" that might be anything from interesting rock structures to artificial buildings. It would have not taken them anything more then a couple of lines of dialogue and cost almost nothing. But yet again even with the deleted scenes the script could have used major overhauls with some harsh logical criticism directed at Lindelof. Shit that flew with a "huh?" series like Lost simply does not work in what is supposed to be plausible sci-fi.
Hi!
Hello :3
Why land your main and only craft onto an unknown planet?!
The colonial marines from Aliens, and even the colonists from Covenant, knew better!
those ships were MASSIVE....no comparison at all...
Well, mother ship were never landed bec it is too massive and would require too much escape velocity to lunch into space. Also their structure were never designed for landing or lunching. The Prometheus is not that massive and structural design is favorable for landing and lunching in a planet.
Because they'd done multiple scans on the planet before leaving and knew that the surface was, at the very least solid and stable
Plus the Prometheus was *designed* to land on a planet/moon
This movie had so much potential. It is frustrating it is so poorly written. I didn’t give a F about the characters. I couldn’t invest in them at all. I just don’t understand why the characters had such dumb lines. Why was Vickers such a B? Why have her do push-ups after hyper sleep? Why was Charlie such an asshole to David? Why keep Weyland being on board a secret? Why was the geologist guy such a dick? Everyone was soooo unlikeable with maybe the exception of Dr Shaw. At least I was rooting for her. There are a few movies that while watching I find myself wondering “WHY?!?!?” And this is one of the movies. It had so much potential!!!!!!!!!
This just made zero sense to me. In NO WAY would you EVER land the primary mothership on an alien world. You leave the primary ship in orbit and go down in a dropship. Also as the ship enters the atmosphere all the shields are lowered with all that fragile glass. No one's belted in, the captain standing like an EDM DJ holding that handlebar. They could have tried for some science accuracy on the atmospheric entry. Movie has too many stupid flaws but can't list them all but this scene really bugged me.
Should have let Denis Villeneuve take charge of this project. Would have got the same standard of visuals but much better writing. Scott wasn't up to it, clearly. I mean the characters are so unlikeable and stupid it's hard to not want everyone to die. At least the crew from the Nostromo made you want to root for them all (minus Ash).
IMO:- a well put together film but IMO the landing scene in alien had more tension and better music. here the (excellent) pilot made it look too easy and laid back, therefore taking out a lot of the suspense. Of course not the very talented Mr Elba's fault. its the way the film was written.
I guess bec. its nearly automated and the weather was fine. Heh
Hard to believe that AI wouldn't land the craft. Also hard to believe that African-American dialect would still exist that far into the future. Or even separate races. Everybody will be brown.
This movie lacks adventure
This scene is nothing compare to nostromo landing scene. So disappointed at over use of cgi.
The Captain ruined it for me. Why can't they get real actors to play these roles?
They could have kept the budget in check by not wasting Idris Elba on this menial role. I liked Prometheus - but some of its characters are simply forgettable.
Happy Birthday Penny Lane Ippolito free my baby from Fort Collins Co DHS!,,,,,
If that ship is like the osprey I'll just quote virus: your all going to die....😂😳🙉🌝
Your engines rotate but i don't see no thrust variables going on there!
