  • No brake effort on rear park brake.
    watch how to check, clean and adjust the rear brakes on a skoda fabia.
    common issue is that the automatic adjuster for the park brake seizes and does not adjust as it should, resulting in poor braking effort.

    Really well done and easy (even enjoyable) to watch. Thank you, very clear and informative. Lots of extra tips thrown in, very useful. Liked the use of speeded up sections to avoid boring repetitive movements.

    A very good video, a shame that your voice was covered by that silly music, it made your softly spoken explanation virtually unlistenable to people with hearing problems, could you make your next video without the music.

    Where is the handbrake adjusted, do the underbody covers need to be removed to gain access ?

    hey, i hope youre still online,
    i have a 2014, and the drum WILL NOT come off the shoes, what do i do, force it?
    on my challenger theres a little adjustment wheel i can spin to bring the shoes closer together again and away from the drum, does the fabia have one? if so where?

      Video does not show proper way to remove drum, other videos will likely show you, you need a flashlight and a screwdriver.

    So to adjust the park brake you unclip the spring and pull the lever down and the open up the park brake lever a tad and then re fit the spring?

      Lisi Hoxha hi, if the brakes are hot they could be binding. After testing the brakes I would raise the back of the car and rotate the drums to see how free they are, similar to the start of the video. I’d also check to see if your handbrake is staying on for any reason.

    I'm getting a scraping sound from my back brakes what would u sugjest?

    • @MTMMotorServices
      @MTMMotorServices  Před 3 lety

      It needs to be investigated. If it sounds like metal on metal then the brakes could be worn and would need replacing. Or it could be build up on the drum and its contacting the back plate.
      You won't know until you get it checked and stripped down.

    every how many km?

    • @MTMMotorServices
      @MTMMotorServices  Před 4 lety

      Brake drums should be opened cleaned and Inspected as part of regular service intervals. As a general guide, every second service a clean up and inspection can prevent failures like in the video.
