- My biggest art goal for 2023 was to take the 20 themes from my scene studies challenge and use them to create 20 illustrations of my own. To take the new skills I’d build and put them into my own artwork. This challenge truly changed my life. Spoiler alert: it helped me find my style. So grab some tea, and let’s take a portfolio tour!

I have literally never commented on a YT video, but this is the best illustration video I have ever watched. I enjoyed every second of the process for every single painting. Amazing Work! Thanks so much for sharing it :)
Awww thank you so, so much!! 🥰
If hiking up hills and mountains isn't up your alley. Maybe try finding some gentle trails through parks, forests or nature preserves. Less exertion, and you still get to see gorgeous scenery.
Oooo I love parks and trails!! 💛
your content inspired me to create my own gouache journal project! you have reinvigorated my passion for art and i always appreciate watching/listening to your videos while working on my paintings as it helps me think more clearly as your process just makes so much sense in my brain. I tagged you in one of my instagram posts, since that piece i did was very much inspired by your work
Oh my goodness, that’s so kind!! Thank you!! 💛🥰
Keep going!
As much as you might not want to believe in what I'm going to say, I swear it is true.
Your illustrations are something people like me study, in the same way as you do with studio ghibli.
That's so, SO SWEET!! Thank you so much!! Totally made my day 💛
I’m so proud of you for finishing this challenge and absolutely nailing it! Each of these illustrations look incredible and they tell beautiful stories!
Thank you so, so much Lauren!! 🥰💛
I am so in awe of all you have created! Each of your characters is full of….uhmmm….CHARACTER! It is so fun to see how your process has evolved and become distinctly you. Thank you for sharing your year. I can’t wait to see what 2024 brings for you.
Awee thank so much!! 🥰💛
Omg, really looking forward to this! So many cool pieces in those thumbnails.🖌🎨🖼♥♥♥♥
Thank you so much!! 💛
I never usually comment, but you are so insanely talented! The way you are able to create scenes is just...I hope to be able to see spaces the way you do, and make scenes that have a feeling and like their own world. I struggle so hard with prospective and get very discouraged, but after seeing your video, you've given me inspiration to try and learn again!
That's so sweet, thank you so much!! 💛
Yea!!!!!
Keep it up, girl! I especially like the train piece, the one with the sunset, the spooky one, and the haystack one. You have great composition skills, and i enjoy looking at your color palettes❤
Thank you so, so much!! 💛
It’s incredible that you mentioned Adorning the Dark. A friend recommended it to me just a bit ago. Now I definitely have to grab a copy!
It’s a FANTASTIC book!! 💛
Fantastic portfolio of imagination.....your channeling Beatrix well.😊
Awee thank you!! 💛
Your illustrations are so cozy and wonderful! I love the world you've built. You are so funny and upbeat and you are my go-to to keep me company while I work on my own art projects😊
Ahhh thank you so, so much!! I’m so glad to be a part of your creative practice!! 🥰😊
This is so inspiring! I loved getting to see your sketches and thought process. Please do more of this!!
Thank you so much!! 💛🌿
Do I see a little Chris Hong inspiration in your art. Love Chris Hong and I love you, can’t get any better than a combination. Your ability to get the light and shadow is unreal. I have to practice more
Ahhh thank you so much!! Most DEFINITELY some Chris Hong inspiration!! I absolutely adore her work 🥰
I relate to the part of overthinking
Oooof, it can be such a struggle 😅
@@allisonaletha seriously, I'm aiming to slow down a little bit even if it means taking a hit on my drawing skills. I'm not sure if i would be consistent with this goal 😂😂😂 (i put so much pressure on myself, and it's only my hobby) but i am trying and will see how it goes.
Thank you for your content
Was there for the live even and just finished my FIRST gouache painting! I'm still on the fence about how I feel about it. But definitely going to give it another go! Thanks for the inspiration!
Ahhh thank you so much for hanging out with me during the live! And HUUUUUGE congratulations on creating your first gouache painting! That's SO exciting! 💛
Wow you're incredible!
Awww thank you!!

You are very creative. Your drawings are amazing. Thank you for sharing this beauty with us🫶💕💓💜
Awee thank you so much!! 💛
Ohh I was waiting for this video for dayyyys. Seeing all these illustrations together makes me so happy. They're all so amazing and so are you ;) I've been following you this whole year and I really admire your work.
I really want to lauch my art career in 2024 but I feel like I lack some technical skills. That's why I decided to take Justin Donaldson class begginng in January as well as study on my own. My contract at my current job ends in June 2024 and I want to do everything I can to make a living from illustration until then. Does launching a career (where I can at least make a living) in 6 months while consolidating my technical foundations seem realistic? I'm a bit lost and I don't know where to start, especially since I have a very small audience on Instagram.
Ahhh thank you so much!! I’m taking Justin Donaldson’s class in January too! I can’t wait to see your work in the group. 🥰
I wish I had some helpful advice on launching your art career in illustration, but truthfully I’ve just been flying by the seat of my pants. 😅 I’d definitely recommend checking out Kelsey Rodriguez’s channel!! She has SO MUCH helpful information on building an art business!
wonderful to look at. Thanks for sharing this :)
Thank you so much!! 💛
👏👏👏👏👏👏
Loving the video, discussion, and artwork. I worry that the asymmetrical audio will hold it back from being great.
Thank you!! I'm investigating why the audio was asymmetrical for the last couple of my videos, so hopefully the next video will have better audio. 😅 Thanks for watching through it anyways!
i really like the video but the sound is kinda weird , i have your voice on left side and music on the right one
Oooof, so sorry for the audio issues!! I’m working on fixing that for the next video 😁
@@allisonaletha oo haha its okay, i wish u an happy new year from france 😊
