- In this vlog I try and find the best solo moto camping setup for me. Id appreciate any feedback or tips/items that you use or take on your motorcycle camping adventures. I've been lucky enough to be sent a 3 second tent from reactive outdoors, So I'll be giving that a review. In the past I would normally just use a swag but as id like to go motorcycle camping more often and be comfortable I hope this tent works out well. I went for a hiking style camping setup, let me know what you think. I'm very excited to go solo camping on a Harley Davidson.

In the summer, I use a hammock, but I just bought me a backpacking hot tent and a titanium backpacking stove. I'm set for winter camping. I tried it out in the backyard the other night. It was 20F. Stove kept the tent comfortable. But you got to wake up every few hours and restoke the fire.

Also, yes I'm in a club and we always have a 'run truck', but I still like to carry my own stuff..so get a detachable sissy bar and just strap a swag and a tent to it.

Try $3.15 a litre over here. I agree, I hate people that can't merge, bloody dangerous alright. Great tip on getting rid of the micro bubbles. Love camping. Haven't camped taking out the bike yet. Enjoyed the clip. Keep up the great work!

great vid, mate! one thing easy to forget that's a massive disappointment if you do is a torch!!! Bunnings Warehouse has those torch built in the caps. Over hang lamp for the tent and torch to go piss in the dark and not step on spiders hahahaha
Cheers mate, I do have a few different types of head torches haha. I love going camping in my 4x4, but I want to get one to hang from the inside of the tent. I'll check out bunnings for that cap one sounds cool haha. Thanks for the reminder I always forget things 🤣 I was on Fraser Island once (Central station) and turned my head torch off to walk to the toilet because I was trying to be stealthy and everyone was asleep... stood on a snake and screamed and woke everyone up anyway 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I went to Warrnambool yesterday and on the way stopped at a lifeline shop and they had camper beds for $5 mate really good one’s I find a lot of good biker things at the op shops keep up the good work buddy

I go very basic. I have panniers on my Road King style Electra-Glide. Panniers & touring pack on my Electra-Glide. & I also have a trailer if I go on a trip with one of my kids. Small groundsheet (plastic tarp). 2 man Coleman tent from Tentworld, which packs down to a small size. Only cost me $29 I think. Kmart self inflating mattress for $15. Also packs to a very small size, & inflates to only about 1" thickness, but I find it very comfortable. Kmart pillow.$5. I dont like air pillows.. Kmart sleeping bag.$12. In Nth Qld we don't need a very warm bag. Small billy. Cook on a fire so less items to pack. But that is my most basic set ip for overnight. I might look at that Furno pot set you got.

Awesome mate, I bloody love keeping it simple and budget. I was going to go do the Kmart thing but I got sent this tent so I thought stuff it I can spend a little extra on other stuff. All fits in the panniers except the tent and haven't got sleeping bag yet haha. Very true is hot AF up north mate. Don't think I was ever cold living in Townsville 🤣🤣

I use a stretcher tent when camping at rallys and such but I have a streetglide and it straps nicely on the pillion seat and my mattress and sleeping bag on the rak....but I think youll do good with what you have, its where we all started ,but I'm getting too old these days and camping doesn happen that often.

I'm getting old and I have resorted to a cot with an air mattress on top to keep camping. The less I spend on sleeping the longer I can afford to stay out on the road. I can't afford to ride for a month or more spending 100 bucks a night just to sleep.

I use a cheap 3 person tent, Xped matress super comfy and about the size of an elephant tampon, a blow up pillow, single burner from aldi. Sleeping bag is the hardest decision. Lets ho camping Lad.

Yeah sucks sweating just gearing up to get on the bike, won’t be long and should cool down a bit for us Qlders.
I looked into doing the same with moto camping expensive to set yourself up but worth it if your going camping often, which I decided I won’t be so I just get a cabin or motel instead.
Maybe you get all the gear and I will join you with my swag 🤣

cool vid man, just came across you. I went with a Oztrail nomad 2 person tent it packs up super small. I got the cheap version of that chair and a cheaper version of the mattress off ebay/amazon, i had the same issue with the sleeping bag though so it hangs off the sissy bar. $$$ add up but I figured I only use it every now and again so couldn't justify the high price of some of the stuff

I'll have to check that tent out mate, I was going to go with ebay stuff but the mattress this time I wanted to test it out in store I usually just wing it 😅 ended up with a bigger bunnings version of those chairs too for $28 which I thought was a bargain. And bunnings sleeping bag $25 🤣 yeah that makes sense won't be using it too much either... well I hope to but it's never the case 🤣

Hi mate. Nice vlog. I use a tent in my vlog but going back to a single swag. I find I’m taking way too much gear, although the Harley can handle the weight. I want something I can just roll out and pack up in like 2 minutes. I’ll be reviewing the new set up soon.

Good video. Interesting. I recommend the Big Agnes range of tents, my favourite. They're very light but well made - I got the Blacktail 3 which is a three person tent. It packs down pretty compact for what it is, but gives you plenty of space 'indoors' for dressing, sitting up, and there's space for storing panniers inside at night - good for security.
Defo get a sleeping bag liner, they're a significant upgrade in cold weather, and they keep your sleeping bag clean (just wash the liner).
Air matresses are good, they keep you off the ground and warm again. Another tip: use wet wipes if there's no wash facilities.

Haha. I went for a Rhino jacket last year, wore it Mackay to Hervey Bay. Stopped at Apple Tree Ck pub for a beer and the sweat just dripped from the sleeves on the floor 😂 It is my winter jacket now if it ever gets cold up here in the North 😂

I was using a Skull Riderz mesh flannel riding shirt. It's got the aramid layer and crash pads, cool when it gets hot and dries fast after it rains. When it's chilly I put my leather over the top.

What !? How is it cheaper over there ? Just did the conversion from litres to gallon and aud to usd we are paying $6.10 usd per gallon... weird I'd int get that hahaha. But to be fair this is 98 octane fuel... I could have gotten 95 for a fair bit cheaper.

No idea mate, I'm not sure if it was from the army because away from people a lot but in crowded settings I get anxious. Especially when filming because it isn't normal I guess so everyone stares (which makes sense) Trying to ignore it but I was never a confident kid growing up. Very skinny and from a broken home drug family foster care system alot of stuff it could be mate. I'm not trying to whinge about it or anything everyone goes through shit hey that's life. I am getting better though, just trying to ignore it.
