    Hey just wanted to say thanks for posting this video, it helped me diagnose the same issue I Had with my dodge.
    My tube o-rings were definitely leaking and now I no longer have the long crank.
    Thanks mang

    Adding a little bit of oil/assembly lube onto the orings helps the crossover tubes seat better to. Just so you for future reference

      And as far as aftermarket fuel lines pro source diesel makes a much better set as well.

    My truck has been having starting issues for 3 years already, i have mastered the starting procedure with my issue, its crank it over half a rotation till the lift pump starts running, wait about 10 seconds or so then begin crancking, then it fires up quite quick untill you get around to fixing the problem. Thanks so much for your work. I will be ordering some pickup tubes soon to try.

    Dude, thank you for all your videos, everyone else goes to the VP and lift pump which I've already done and still having hard start problems. I am definitely going to look into these!

    Thanks I'm going to pull the tubes & replaced the O-rings as I've tried everything else, you have, up to this point, with the same issue. The O-ring issue seems to coincide, with the start / no start condition, pending where the pump to injector positioning. it t seems, these O-ring don't like the engine heat over time and begin to disintegrate. There are many different chemistry types, grades to durometer hardness of O-rings, referring to Nitrile, Buna, Viton etc... My next step is either get OEM injector tubes with the O-rings on them, or do a little more research, on fuel resistant high temperature types, As I'm an Industrial Mechanic, I've seen & had, O-ring compatibility issues before, in relationship, to different equipment and past scenario's . Thanks again.

    I don’t comment on CZcams much but I have pretty much the same truck and have had all the same problems you have, I seriously appreciate every video you’ve made on this thing. It’s all right up my alley and super helpful! I say this with my old crossover tubes in my hand and a soon-to-not-leak cummins

      You should loosen the injectors themselves also and alternate tightening the crossover and injector. This way they seal as you tighten them.

    You are constantly holding the parts below the line of sight of the camera, so we cannot see what you are talking about.

      Yeah, unfortunately it happens. I stopped using the head mount camera in later videos because of this. No way to check the angle while taking the video until it's done and in editing.

    I replaced everything . Even the grommets on the t line , and I mean everything even cross over tube o rings I bought new cross over tubes that’s all I’m buying for this piece of shit if it doesn’t work then I’m throwing a check valve in it

    did you ever get any white smoke after it fired up when you were still having the cold start issues?

    • @AllThingsBoost
      @AllThingsBoost  Před 2 lety

      Yeah, excess cranking would shove some extra fuel in, so I'd get some white on startup from time to time.

  • @hreindustries

    how have these held up? I want new ones but its hard to find oe ones and ive read some conflicting information on aftermarket tubes.

  • @kaderobbins6555
    @kaderobbins6555 Před 2 lety

    So this fixed your long crank/cold start issue? I just recently upgraded my injectors as well as my vp44 but I reused my stock crossover tubes (166,000 miles), when I put it all back together it’s been having the long crank/cold start issue just like your truck was doing. If it sits for longer then an hour it cranks for 10-15 seconds to reprime the fuel system. I plan on changing my cross over tubes soon and if that doesn’t fix the hard start I’ll put my stock injectors back in to see if that makes it go back to the easy start. Thanks for any feedback

    • @AllThingsBoost
      @AllThingsBoost  Před 2 lety +1

      Yep, 100% fixed my long cranks. They should be replaced with injectors at the same time to prevent the exact issue you're having of a bad seal.

  • @Mr69barracuda
    @Mr69barracuda Před 3 lety

    How did you determine the cross over tubes were leaking?
    Could you see it weeping externally or is it and internal leak ?
    How do you test it?

    • @AllThingsBoost
      @AllThingsBoost  Před 3 lety

      Mine was a visible leak at the head. I thought originally it was the fuel lines, so I replaced them and still couldn't get it to seal, once I replaced the crossover tubes I was able to get them to seal an no more leaks at the head. If it's an internal leak on the injector side I have no idea how'd youd be able to tell that.

  • @dmanmoto
    @dmanmoto Před 2 lety

    Did you have a long crank time?

  • @juniormorris3878
    @juniormorris3878 Před rokem

    I'm more concerned about new tubes not seating to the old injectors

    • @AllThingsBoost
      @AllThingsBoost  Před rokem +1

      To answer your first question, you can put a little oil around the o rings to ease installation.
      If you are installing new injectors, then you press the injector down first, then the cross over tube, and tighten both a little at the same time back and forth until they are to spec to ensure proper seating. If the injectors are not being replaced I did not find it necessary to touch them.

    Great video series!
    I have a small fuel leak under the truck and it look like it's coming from the left side head.
    Do you know what size the O-Rings are? Thanks!

    • @AllThingsBoost
      @AllThingsBoost  Před 3 lety +1

      Not sure, but if and when you pull them take an old ring off or get an o ring multi size kit from harbor freight for a few bucks and just match the size.

      @@AllThingsBoost Well I was hoping not to have to pull a Crossover tube, and be able to pre-order some O-Rings. So instead I pre-ordered the excellent Corssover tube extraction tool, AND I THANK YOU for showing how it works as a coaxial pulling tool in your video - Love your channel!
