- Poco live in 2004 with one of their three biggest hits. "Crazy Love" is from their most popular studio album "Legend", released in 1978.
Poco is an American country rock band originally formed by Richie Furay and Jim Messina following the demise of Buffalo Springfield in 1968. The title of their first album, Pickin' Up The Pieces, is a reference to the break-up of the Springfield and is the only debut album ever to receive a perfect rating from Rolling Stone Magazine. A favorite of AOR FM stations in the early 1970s, Poco was considered to be a highly innovative and pioneering band. Although the band charted a handful of Top 20 hits, overall their Top 40 success was uneven, and many of their most innovative records were commercially unsuccessful. Throughout the years Poco has performed in various groupings, with the latest version still active today. With 24 original albums and 26 "Best of" and anthology collections, the band boasts a total catalog of 50 releases.

The greatest country rock group in history. The Eagles wouldn't be The Eagles without Poco.
RIP Rusty. A tremendously talented singer and songwriter, who nonetheless remained kind and considerate to fans and other musicians. A rare breed.
Cheers !
I had no idea Rusty was gone. RIP. Just wanted to hear this beautiful song one more time.
there is a great 3 hour tribute to Rusty here on CZcams. A lot of his ex band mates sitting around a radio station talking about Rusty. and performing his songs I didn't realize lots of them live near me.. Rusty lived near me.
This band never got the respect it deserved but a band that had Rusty Young Randy Meisner and Timothy B Schmitt must have done a number of things right. If this is “The Last Goodbye” let me say THANK YOU RUSTY for your amazing music and talent; and there are generations of future fans that will hopefully enjoy your music as much as I have. RIP

They sound fantastic live....nothing compares to 70’s soft rock....its on a different level
I so took it for granted hearing these mellow folky songs of the '70's. Beauty, peace, sweet. That what music is all about. Just put the radio on now or listen to music on TV commercial - it makes you feel edgy and angry, which mirrors today's society.
This is music!!! Today's music is generic garbage!!

I hate losing wonderful musicians like this - they're so hard to find today. RIP sir.
when every aspect of music is carefully done , the end result is groups like Poco , if you see them walkin down the street , not knowing them , never in a 100 yrs would you believe they could perform on stage and be one of the best. No crazy get ups , no smoke and star bursts , just excellent , and real gratifying music.
Nice to hear someone actually perform something live. The vocal ensemble and intonation are crazy good. The live vocal mix is impressive.
Thank you for sharing your talents with us all, Rusty. Rest in peace. 💔
Darn he passed ? 😪
@@brianr4214 yep

One of my favorites! RIP Rusty!

Thank you for keeping Poco alive for 40 year's.
God bless you Rusty Xx
this is one of my favourite songs of all time. so beautiful and haunting.
One of the truly great bands of an era! Rusty's voice is still just amazing!
Excellent vocals Crazy Love, still sound like the original version.
A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of having drummer george lawrence from the band Poco sit in with my band!!! Killer
Back in the 90's I worked with a crazy but wonderful social worker (HI Shelia!) who would save up her vacation time and fly from Fla to wherever Poco was playing.
I heard the Bad News over the Radio at work today and now I'm home enjoying this Amazing song that will live on! Rest in Peace
yup - really hits home - such sweet memories of warm summer nights growing up in the wonderful 70's
It's so good, it almost hurts.
William Peterson it huts
Saw Poco in 1977 Tulsa Oklahoma
They were amazing!
Amen brother
Well said
so true what you said 😎
Just heard the news that Rusty Young died...I'm saddened...never got to see Poco in concert. Great band, great mellow sound..RIP Rusty.
The problem with generations today is they have zero respect for their elders ... these guys are in their golden yrs almost. And wipe the slate clean with the arrogant talentless performers today , without breaking a sweat.
Losing Poco really really hurts 😞 💔 😢
Rest in Heaven Rusty 🙏🏾 ❤
I've been listening to this group since Jr. Highschool , now at 55 it's just sad to lose these guys .
Rusty Young at 75 and Paul Cotton at 78 Rest in Heaven ❤🙏🏾❤🙏🏾
A teenager's voice in a 58 yr old man, absolutely incredible that he never lost that voice as he aged. R.I.P. Rusty Young - I can't express how sad your passing is to me & all your other fans.
He was a down to earth Rich man which in today's Me society , is a true gift from God.
The way he dressed , and how he carried himself kept him where he wanted to be ...
"Close to the heart" (of his fans) !
RIP Rusty Young, the Master,You will be forever missed by your biggest fan and that is me. I have been listening to you since I was six years old and now I am 52. Where are you soar with the Angels
God Bless you Rusty. I'll sing this song at my gig this weekend. For you my brother.
Favourite Poco song, brilliant harmonies
This song stirs deep pain yet so beautiful; here i am 5 months later. Unbelievably beautiful music and lyrics
RIP you have one ot the best voices ln the progressive rock history i could listen to you forever . a beautiful performance.
I saw Poco at the Washington Monument in 1972. They did a free concert. Nobody I knew at the time had heard of them. I am sure glad I did.
I love performing this song. The audience ALWAYS love it no matter how old or young they are!!
30 years later 1974-2004, and still sound great!!
Still sounds great in 2017!
Still sounds great in 2020
I can't see the reason why.
This sound of voice and guitar makes me happy! Thank you!
Wait a second. 25 years later, and this guy tunes UP a half-step? What the hell is HIS secret?
that lady they focused among the audience, she's Stunning!
Rest in love Rusty!
God Speed Rusty! You are a true hero in my book and one of the most caring musicians, persons I have ever met. After 40 years I still love your music! RIP
Saw Poco in the mid 70s? at Keil Auditorium in St Louis. Opening act Bachman Turner was so loud I went out to the lobby. Poco was 4 piece by then and sounded fantastic. Rusty was the best steel player I have seen and an energetic fantastic performer. I think I remember him laying down and playing the steel resting on top of him. This is a huge loss to music but I am grateful for what he gave up. Bless his soul and comfort his family RIP!
Nice to hear it sung straight, no added juice. Thank you Mr Young. Thank you very much.
I've always loved their vocals and the message of hard, tough and good love.my wife nicknamed me Poco right after this album came out.
Never saw Poco live but they were one of the bands I would listen to in the 80's. Great music!
still sound awesome

Reminds me of a certain girl. I won't give her name, but initials are C.C. If you ever see this, you know who you are. Didn't end well for us but I hope life has given you blessings. I am happily married now, hope you have found the one for you too. Thanks for good memories.
I remember when that beautiful song first came out. Such a nice memory.
This group was the very first concert I went to as a kid

Poco......still beautiful after all these years.......thanks for sharing.
There is a great 3 hour tribute of a bunch of musicians who played with Rusty sitting in a radio station talking about Rusty and playing his songs. On youtube just say Tribute to Rusty Young of Poco.

A great song!!. Even though this masterpiece came out before I was born it brings back great memories. If only the music of today had the same feeling and insperation.
Reminds me of my sweetheart back when this came out. TC then and TS now. Miss her.
Back in my day. Thanks...

Tonight I'm gonna break away..
The military makes it tough to be close to your loved ones. Each time i listen to this song, i feel that much closer to you Courtney, much love.
If you got it - then no-one can take it away from you, and these guys have it.
btw to all you young peope out there take a real long hard look at the old guys, they feel the music still to this day, way to go poco, your still great.
Great to see old timers still have it...: )
Saw Rusty, Jack Sundrud, and Michael Webb last night as an acoustic version of Poco in Green Lake WI. Sat in the front row and took in one heck of an awesome show. Three very talented artists! And boy is Rusty a funny story teller!
He still sounds so good.
