As an Athletic Therapist (currently in Toronto), my advice is please don't just rely on rest.They can help you figure out exactly what it is and expedite your healing process. They can also help figure out where it stems from and help to prevent it from happening again. Go see a professional, you'll be really grateful you did! They may also find other things you may need to work on (flexibility, range of motion, strength) in other areas so they don't become an issue down the line - and you can keep riding the Cody Train for as long as you want and get those results! Your videos have been awesome, really loving the channel. Good luck!

watching you inspired me to start running after dealing with no exercise because of an ed and it’s recovery, and i finally was able to start running after seeing you start. ALSO like you, i got injured and strained all my gluteal muscles about two weeks in and have been off for a week now but the motivation to get back is still there😭.
As a medical student: a lot of orthopedic trouble doesn't have a corresponding finding on an Xray or MRI. These imaging techniques are important to rule out noticeable things like fractures/ ruptures/ spine infections but you should'nt expect too much from them. Rather consult a physiotherapist/ get a prescription for physical therapy (dunno how that works precisely in the US' shitty health care system). They can help you with exercises and evaluating what you can do

This channel has been part of the reason why I went back to CrossFit-it was something I really enjoyed but stopped since I fell off and gained a lot of weight back and felt ashamed. But I started three weeks ago and immediately (after two days of soreness) just felt my mood lift, my body stopped aching randomly, and I just felt better in the morning. Like CrossFit is not only a workout but it’s like…it’s a time I just get to do something I enjoy by myself which I haven’t done in a really really long time.
I feel you! I was going to run my first half-marathon in April of this year but I developed bronchitis a week earlier and couldn't run 🥲 I was so sad and kinda frustrated because I never get sick and of course I had to get sick before this milestone lol. Anyway, I signed up to run it next year after feeling inspired again by this channel and I can't wait!

I’ve spent so long training to be stronger and better in my sport. Today I just lost-a loss I can’t really make up. It fucking sucks to know that no matter how much work you’ve put in so far, it stilll didn’t amount to a victory., But my loss really makes me hate myself and wanna get better at loving myself at the same time. Sometimes the losses we take are steps to victories in it of themselves. To me I think the real victory is knowing that I’m not my losses or my victories, I’m me and how I be. This setback in your training and life will ultimately proved a lesson greater than you just having everything go to plan. I love you Cody and this video has made me cry, and helped me reconcile with myself.

Please don’t be alarmed when you read “herniated L5” or “disc protrusion L2” Cody, this is all very common and just needs time to heal. I just don’t want to see you going for some surgery or paying a load of money on PT when these things just take time 😭 I did a whole masters in this stuff and work as a physiotherapist, this is the most common thing I see. America is just a bit behind in the evidence supporting treatments (I’m in Europe)! Please research before you choose a course of action based on ANY MRI results and please PLEASE do not go to a chiropractor. Remember, the MRI does not show the bigger picture!
