The church ⛪ was magnificent. It is all well cared for .someone spends a great deal of time caring for such a beautiful peaceful resting place 💕 so many beautiful head stones ,and crosses.
Thank you so much Sue, I love this little Church which you visited before but didn't have time to read too many on that day. There are so many 1700's date wise and so many whole families where the children have died young. One family where the parents and child died 1926, so must have been one of the many killer diseases they had to endure back then. This graveyard is very well maintained, removing that Ivy would cause more damage than leaving it there covering the tomb. You always do such a great job when presenting your video's. 💕🇦🇺
So I think that definitely qualifies as a Mort safe, maybe a lightweight Mort safe - the birdcage variety? I thought you could open that hatch and a parakeet might fly out!! 😀 Well done, very interesting Church and Graveyard!!
This is a very peaceful one Sue.I guess it a little out of the way,as cars are not racing by.The headstones are in great condition. My guess with the Crosses that are everywhere ,I can imagine they are made out of sandstone or a similar soft stone hence the wear and tear on them and why the lichen love them so much..The cage over the one grave looks much more modern. An old one would be made of steel rods not.plastic coated rods..They have been using this for gates in the home for children and dogs for a long tine no,so it would be within the last four or five decades that this was being used .This looked new ,as this type of coated material usually tends to rust on the edges where the weld has been and the coating is not so thick..I have never seen one before. They could have been having problems of things going missing off the grave so they put the cage on..But if it’s spirit moving the things, which they do sometimes, especially the children..The cage will not stop it going missing Lol!..Beautiful adventure once more Sue and the Church was Lovely inside and Peaceful..Love and Light 🥰
Missed your live stream again Sue, next time for sure..😊 Love these old granite headstones with the lichen on them, it makes you get this eerie feeling..Like in a movie, with the fog & the old headstones sticking out of the ground. 😁..Lovely little church & cemetery Sue, thank you! 💕💖
The church was small but stunning with the colouration of the stonework. I wonder if a larger light source would illuminate the letters on the markers better? Just a thought. Wish I could wander through that graveyard! Thanks again for the tour.
Thanks Sue for another beautiful bit of filming. Your style is getting very professional. I'm not used to seeing the Sun that low in the southwest but that's hemispheres for you. 1922 seems rather recent for a mortsafe but maybe the resurrectionists were active for longer than I thought.
Hey, yes I'm sure your right and to be far would a cage like that stop them🤔 I've read now that the rails I see so often were a kind of mortsafe too? It's a great find non the less, thank you 🇮🇪🍀❤️
I loved this one especially! Margaret Cleary mentioned at 4:50 is my 2nd great grandmother! Thank you so much for sharing, Sue. It was really neat to see my family featured in a video!
Hey Sue, another great video! What a beautiful church, not large inside, but luv the history. The graveyard was fascinating too, so old, with many different styles n shapes of headstones...so many weather-beaten, litchen (or ivy) covered, speaks of so many years being exposed to the elements...love it! Thanks again for a super tour! :)
A beautiful tour, the birds chirping, and happy. They really keep good care of the church, and graves, makes you want to walk around and see it all. Amazing headstones, and the mort safe was so unusual to see, especially the type. Thank you.
I just learned about a "mortsafe". I really admire the tomb completely covered in ivy. Stunning video. Breathtaking landscape. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
Great find Sue. Seems we can safely say slate is the way to go, as most 1700s headstones are far more durable than later ones, and i love the writing. Here Lieth etc. another thing to allways look out for is the very many Irishmen who died in the Crimean war, they will allways be in memorium as there bodys where never taken back home, dates would be 1854-1856 ish, they sometimes come up, and i have the medal rolls for that war and also who was in Scutari hospital, where Florence Nightingale was. And yes i do keep my eyes open for them LOL, great stuff Sue and again thanks xxx
Hi Sue absolutely loved this cemetery and church ……i wonder why the mortsafe on that one grave….it would be interesting to know the history of the man buried there…thanks again for all you do…💕🇨🇦💕🇨🇦
At--15:29-- it looks like one to me. Looks like they didn't want their bodies stolen alright. What a beautiful church!!!💖 I'll bet those burried in the churchyard once attended services there. They dearly must have loved their church to never want to leave it. I'll bet in sprite those old church services still go on in the sprite world demention.
@@SerenitySueGraveyards If I ever get back to Ireland I'd luv to meet you and see this church together. I make dollhouses but have never made a church, why not start with this one? I think it would be a fun project. Thank you for the videos and a grand friendship.😚👻💖☘
Dumb question, where are the parking areas for all the people make this happen? I live in New England and never saw a defoliated old church. If it were newer and kept up. I would. Seriously not trying to look foolish rather just trying to learn. Great job Sue. I really only plan to throw gas money at you from time to time if that is okay with you.
Hi Sue ! 😙 🖐👻🖑 Live your life to the fullest ! Quello che siete fummo quello che siamo sarete. ( That which you are ...we once were. That which we are.....you will be.) One day you're in a graveyard reading headstones.... and ....then....one day others will be reading your headstone. So live and enjoy your life while you can, your body may be distoryed but the love and good deeds you leave behind will endore forever. Your name will be found in the book of life and your soul will go on. That's the way I look at 'death'. Our 'deaths' are just new beginings. The body gives out but the sprite goes on.

Hey Sue! Great video. I don't think that is a mortsafe. Mortsafes were usually made of iron and very heavy. Plus by 1922 there was no need to fear grave robbing. It does look like a cage tho. Could it be a way to keep animals out of the flowers or plants?
Hey Terri, as I got a bit better on youtube and my understanding of graves, your right definitely not a mortsafe I'd say to protect graves, flowers etc for sure
Mort safe, I do not think so. The date does not make sense ... too late. The wire used is way to thin. I would think it would be used to keep birds and other critters away.
@@SerenitySueGraveyards It was a little freaky to see that shadow come around like he was stalking you. Glad to know you don't go to isolated places alone.
