    Justin I am going to have to challenge you for the zip-tie king title. As an IT guy, I probably use 3-500 ties per server rack in addition to several hundred on cabling bundles and network racks and since I have been doing this for 26 years I might be right up there with you. But I am an old school guy and still use side-cut pliers to cinch and clip my ties.

    Hey Justin, too long, no wait, too short, LOL. Nicely done and congrats, broke 6K as of 9:30 PDT. You're on a roll and keep going. Enjoying the content and one tool that I've recently acquired is the Kreg corner vice grip style clamp. It's nice once you get the hang of using it - I ended up buying a second since each works on each "side" of corners (right/left) and changing the orientation of the stop post is incredibly cumbersome to reorient when moving from left a to right corner. It's a bit pricy, but saves a ton of time when making multiple carcasses for my garage remodel. $39.95
    Hey everyone who's a Justin fan. Please don't forget to let your friends and family know about the channel, like and comment. All of these work positively for Justin for pushing the video's to the main/home page and will get more subs and additional support for more videos. Love the channel! FYI not sure what your outdoor situation is like, but if you get a lot of cardboard boxes a great use other than recycling is reusing as weed suppression. Just flatten them out and remove tape/staples and add either mulch or a weight on top. It biodegrades and can compost over a few months.

    Great list. I have several of them and have had the zip tie gun for 20+ years (a much beefier resin version). It is one of my favorites. Tip... set the tension so that it just snugs the tie before it cuts. You don't want to crush wiring, especially romex or network cabling.

    I really appreciate that these are tools you use and you say why. the line "this mask doesn't fog your glasses" sold it right there. The $15 filter replacements are ridiculous, but I figure I can cut one one out of my lifetime supply of N-95 masks ....( No,. it won't be N100, but it will be $1 rather than $15. being retired and on a budget sometimes means compromising).

I much prefer a flush ground side cutter to trim the tie flush so it doesn't become a bloodletter.

    As both a woodworker and a mechanic I can tell you that that last tool would never in a million years be in my toolbox leaving a tag like that on the end of a zip tie is absolute death. If it cut flush I would buy it in a heartbeat but it left a mechanic's nightmare for a tag. That zip tie is just gonna cut you every time you reach near it.

    • @BitnerBuilt
      @BitnerBuilt  Před rokem

      D I know exactly what your talking about, understand and agree with mechanical but respectfully there’s 1 million different uses for zip ties that this tool is perfectly applicable for. My crews use zip ties on a daily basis with this tool and nobody’s been getting cut because it’s not a reach in a tough spot type of situation. But again I understand what you’re saying.

    • @BitnerBuilt
      @BitnerBuilt  Před rokem +1

      @@christopherhenry6623 I would definitely say it’s more pricey items that have the same function as cheaper ones. For example, I have a harbor freight scroll saw, because I very rarely use it, so why spend the money on an expensive one. Or something like the festool domino, crazy expensive unless you’re specifically making furniture all the time or doing super large glue ups for tables, probably don’t need to blow it on that. My miter saw is a Hercules from Harbor freight because it’s a great saw at a phenomenal price. It’s full-size and it has all the bells and whistles like a shadow guide sight. I had purchased a $900 Dewalt at the same time and ended up returning the Dewalt because the Hercules was the exact same quality at a 3rd of the price. Clamps are tricky. I do love my beast parallel clamps but I spent $750 on them. You can essentially get most of the same functionality out of pipe clamps for $200 for the same number. It really boils down to what you use the most is where you should be spending your money for upgrades.

Keep up the great work!

    I have a 3 pack of suggestions which together are more than $20 but they work well together. Not sure if youtube will freak out if I post a bunch of links so I'll post the ASIN number (put this number in search box on amazon and it should be only result or maybe a few results with this at the top)
    - INCRA TINY03 - B002GU68LM - around $10 - $15 I think, currently sold out - a little 3" ruler / square with individual holes to put a pencil in draw a line. I suppose everyone has their "apron square" they keep with them all the time and I keep this on me all the time.
    - Pentel Graphgear 1000 - B000GAU2RU - $10 - It's pricey for a mechanical pencil but I like it so much I've bought several so I can have one in garage where I do most stuff, then another in basement where I do stuff, then another on my desk. The feature that really stands out is the retractable tip. When you pull up on the pocket clip to put in pocket the tip automatically retracts so it doesn't get bent out of shape in pocket or if it falls out of hand when you remove it from pocket it doesn't get messed up.
    - Pentel Ain Stein Mechanical Pencil Lead, 0.5mm 2B - B004EHYH2M - $7 - Doesn't have to be this particular brand but the key thing is 2B which is a couple grades softer than the standard HB grade. Being software it's less likely to make a dent in soft woods if you push down a bit too hard. It makes it easier to remove via sanding and all around works really well with woodworking. The downside to 2B grade is it can smear a bit easier but since most pencil marks in wood are only useful for a few minutes anyway it's not a big deal
