We often get asked does it mater if the males are smaller than usual , there can be a huge difference in size in the same species ? it generally does not make any difference to the success of the pairing its more important to have both spiders conditioned well before attempting to pair .

Until I found this channel, I never would have believed the adjectives "stunning", "beautiful", "fascinating", etc. could apply to spiders. Your videos have shown me otherwise. I also now understand my sister's affection for the little wolf spiders that live in her house. Thanks, Dave.

That has to be the calmest pairing I've ever seen of tarantulas. I am impressed at how diverse this hobby is, nothing is for certain. It's not always a "hit n' run". :)

Aww he's so tiny!! I was wondering how he was going to hold her up! But he didn't really need to in the end did he? He just scooted in under her! Dave sound is a bit better, but not as good as in previous videos. We can't see any of the paperwork, very glarey and lens is not close enough for this to be seen. 🤔😥 Pairing was great, but that poor little guy, I hope for you that size doesn't matter in this case. When the male went into her burrow, I really thought we'd seen the last of him. Obviously she found him very attractive, which makes me think that personality and appearance may mean a lot more to her than size. Too bad males are so short-lived. This one might have had quite a career as a Casanova.

I so love to watch your videos. When I was a child I wanted a tarantula for a pet. My Mom said no, so I would catch insects and feed the native spiders around to house. The orb spiders, grass spiders and when I could find them the larger woodland wolf spiders and the zebra striped jumping spiders. Your videos brings me back to my good old days. Thank you.

Try to look up Hapalopus sp Columbia, The Pumpkin Patch. They are fair on the eye too. And that Jewel species (I forgot the name!) that Dave has, where he rehoused all of her little beautiful babies! Stunning animal, as well...🙆♂️

i have two subadult females and they are totally shy, absolute never aggressive, fast and jump through the air for prey but when i open the enclosure they go back into their web, very beautiful species.

Wow he is a fluffy little chap. As for the female she is stunning. The markings on her legs look like bones almost. Hope the little chap managed to do the deed. But how gentle were they both with each other. I thought when he went down into her burrow, it would not end well for him. So pleased she had a full tummy and he was not on the menu. As always excellent video guys.
