Video by Dave's Little Beasties don't forget to subscribe - Be Calm, Be Gentle and Love Your Spider
What I respect most about this video is that you keep circling back to the spiders having their own personalities. A lot of people I know think dogs, cats, birds etc are the ones capable of it and don't understand arachnids are capable of that as well.
3:10 Tliltocatl albopilosus
7:15 Tliltocatl vagans
9:15 Lasiodora parahybana
11:35 Grammastola pulchra
15:45 Brachypelma boehmei
18:00 Brachypelma auratum
19:50 Brachypelma emelia
22:22 Brachypelma hamorii
23:50 B. auratum (sling)
25:15 Acanthoscurria geniculata
Beautiful tarantulas! Another stellar video loaded with valuable advice and information. Cheers to Dave and all his little beasties and also, of course, the intrepid and unforgettable Camera Lady!
At ❤️❤️❤️❤️ thank you 🙏
Thank you so much for your calm informative knowledge sharing. I don't watch your channel as a hobbyist, but as someone who is an extreme arachnophobe. I get an enormous amount of reassurance learning about their behaviours from someone who talks like he's talking about a favourite pet cat. I don't have tarantulas running freely around my house but you have saved me from many panic attacks when I've seen common house ones dash out from under the sofa, and I've pulled myself together and asked myself what would Dave do. Thank you. I appreciate and respect your channel so much.
Thank you so much thats all I ever wanted to do was show a different side to these amazing creatures ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
FIRST LOVE THE CHANNEL AND AS ALWAYS BE GENTLE AND LOVE YOUR SPIDER'S
❤️❤️❤️
I do like the fact that you treat each spider individually and respect their view on life. Too many people think of a pet as a toy to pick up and put down at whim. Animals needs must come first at all times but some can be hard to"read". A very valuable session today thanks Dave
Such lovely looking spiders! I have seen that "Happy Dance" to in the Grammostola Rosea I took care of for my son when she got a good meal! Luni was a docile kind creature but she could be fast when she wanted to be it. I have only seen her really upset 😡 or angry once and she was mostly curious I think normally and didn't show any grumpy behavior. She was often sitting on display outside on her house so she was a good company for me when I was in my office. Easy to care for and she didn't need much really. A picky eater and a slow grower perhaps but still a good ambassador for her kind! I think spiders etc are good pets but meant for display not handling. They are fragile creatures and those fangs are huge so I bet that a bite will hurt quite a bit and if you are allergic it can be a not so wise thing to get a bite. Respect doesn't mean that you fear them but you should be aware of their potential to hurt you ( or you them ). I think spiders are individuals just like us with their good and perhaps not so good days. You Dave and Sweet Camera Lady makes my days happier, thank you for all the good advice and spider information you put out here for us! Big warm hugs 🫂, Susanne.
Thank you Susan it really means the world to us ❤❤❤
These rules should be used for all animals. I've seen CZcamsrs screaming and jumping around to express excitement. The excuse as always is they can't hear. Well they sure as hell feel that vibration. .
Great job Mr. & Mrs. Beastie
Another great Video. I have 4 harmorii....3 are very peaceful, but one is a Beast.
You always have that 1...
We all need a bit of spice in our lives.
Superb upload Dave - and great filming as always! I came to your site probably a year ago - looking for tips on a good beginner spider, and I *still* haven’t got it!
That’s the beauty of this channel - there’s so much invaluable information and content, that just watching has become almost a hobby in itself - I literally can’t decide, and secondly, I want to be 100% certain that I get the right spider *for me* as you pointed out in this video. It needs to be big, a slow grower with a long lifespan - and that’s not a simple decision to make, as is obvious from this. I’m in no rush either, it may be a hobby, but it’s also an investment of both time and care, like any pet. When I get my girl, I’ll be armed with a veritable encyclopaedia on her accommodation, feeding, climate, welfare and care, ambient surroundings - all learned from here. So thank you both, for the most entertaining and educational, tarantula learning resource on the Web - bar none! And giving me time to think and prepare properly - there’s so much more to all this than simply buying a sling in a box. It’ll outlive me at this rate when I eventually get her. 👍💙😉
I am so glad your enjoying the channel and the hobby your doing everything right so far ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@daveslittlebeasties I have a great mentor! 👍😉💙
@@The.Doctor.149 ❤❤❤❤
Amazing Information as always, even for knowledgeable keepers, never to forget the basics.
i've always felt that handling a Tarantula is an accident waiting to happen
buying a female curly hair tarantula after doing a lot of research, watching you and other spidertubers have finally given me the courage to take care of a tarantula. Thank you so much for the long and detailed guide on beginner tarantulas
Saw a few videos and I have to say it's nice to see a pet owner who thinks it's not necessary to harass and pick up potentially dangerous animals (from king cobras to funnel webs). As someone with a background in biology I completely agree it doesn't benefit the spider, they don't form emotional bonds with people, and you're risking your and the spider's health. Care for them, enjoy them, but leave them to live a safer, calmer, life- great channel and great advice!
Thank you 🙏
You talk about spider age. I have a lasiodora parahybana that I purchased at a BTS show in Luton, still going strong 32 years later.
WOW thats amazing ❤️👍
Dave: you'll notice the roach is still alive.
tarantula: inserts fang through head. Dave: that wouldn't have helped. 😅
😂😂😂
I am arachnophobic, not as bad as I used to be I am somewhere between liking them and being kinda creeped out by them lol love this! you have beautiful spiders!🕷
I got over my arachnophobia by having a couple of tarantulas for my 50th last year. I have 10 now and I adore them all .....x
@@CaroleEvans93436 awww♥️🕷someday I might have a spider, I know I like the fire leg and the velvet black one. They are all pretty cool.
I found out a long time ago that a really good beginner spider is the Texas Brown Tarantula. In Oklahoma they were everywhere and you could literally just pick up any adult, off the side of the road, and they were so chill. They are also very easy to keep. And I really liked the trapdoors that live in the Southern U.S. as well.
The two spiders most easy going spiders I keep are the Lasiodorides Striatus and the Grammostola Pulchripes. Both are absolutly gorgeous and they attain large sizes. Those two were also the first species I bought and I can only recommend them for someone getting into tarantulas.
Great video.
I agree that the spider has to fit the person. The best beginner spider is a spider that you actually want to own. No spider deserves to be reduced to be training wheels before you move on to "real spiders", so a new keeper shouldnt feel coerced into keeping a Brachypelma or a Tliltocatl or a Grammostola if thats not what they really want. The new world is full of amazing tarantulas and most of them will be a perfect fit if you do proper research and preparation.
My first juvie was an Aphonopelma bicoloratum and she was the 'meanest' madam ever! Of course, not truly 'mean', just incredibly defensive. She was a 'bite first and ask questions later' spider no matter what you were doing...feeding, watering, spot cleaning...she was not a kicker but she made great use of her teeth. It was a baptism of fire into spider keeping! It was also a really good lesson in how they truly are all individuals.
Hi Dave and Camera Lady 💕💙 hope you’re doing well and enjoying your day.
I loved this video because
1. I have learned such a lot about Tarantulas & True Spiders from you.
2. I am respectful of house spiders 🕷 now.
3. I too get tongue tied saying Nicaraguan and Chichester 😂
I don’t know if I’d ever get my own Tarantula, but I’m fascinated by them!
I don’t think I’m the only one either.
I’m partly over my Arachnophobia because of Yourselves.
They are gorgeous creatures 🕷🕷🕷💕💙
I think if that big garden spider never went into my hair when I was Wee and scared the begebbers outta me, I might have my own Tarantula now 😆😆🥰
And, Yes please do an intermediate class spider video too. Also an experienced video please. 🕷💙🕷💕
Take care both of Ya’s 💕💙🥰xxxx
I totally appreciate your channel , I had a female curly hair and she loved getting out of her enclosure just to crawl on my sweater lol every single time she escaped she would seek my sweater lol and she wasn’t cold either lol
This type of video will NEVER get "old" for this channel. I hope you understand this aspect...
I get that the tenancy is to go "Go here, I've made this video already" in your comments, but you're ignoring your subscription count clicks & the compound clicks that you could possibly gain over time with doing this.
You're also ignoring that you can say "I've made 2 videos on this" in your comments then...& MANY will go watch those 2+ videos...
I get that it takes time etc to make, but imo it's time we'll invested... if you treat it as such.
This is a highly common mistake of many channels that fit the value of having 2+ videos & causes other channels to mistakenly follow suit with their video production thinking.
When I'm learning about a new topic, I'll watch EVERY SINGLE video from a channel that I like... that's done those videos! If not, I'll move onto other channels to fill the void of info if I have questions they haven't addressed. That or if I think I don't know enough because "I don't know, what I don't know" type of thing.
This channel, in my opinion, HIGHLY benefits from doing this, as there's much "click value" in teaching new owners to the tarantula world in dedicated videos.
another brilliant educational video PROFF from the beastie room point of view. great to see some of your easier spider collections. (ha ha ha) a great video CAMERA LADY. many thanks guys and take care.
Cheers Graeme ❤️👍
My eight year old daughter, is on #15, thanks to Dave. Seems to us the Mexican and Arizona species are the most mellow...
I find the big fluffy tarantulas quite fascinating and actually quite cuddly the same way I find a bumblebee cuddly. Yes I know you'd never actually 'cuddle' them in a million years. I don't think they should be really handled at all much unless necessary. The smaller spiders with all black glossy bodies etc. make me much more uncomfortable and trigger the arachnophobia.
Same! Love the fluffers
Fantastic video. I'm sure many people think that "beginner" always means "boring", and clearly that's not always the case. I really like the Curly Hair, particularly because they rarely seem like they're in a hurry to get anywhere. There is something to be said for gentility.
Love the educational video, and your calm and gentle approach to handling these guys. I’m getting better at managing my reactions to spiders in our general environment, and seeing these beautiful creatures really helps. One day I may work up to keeping one myself. (40 years old and I’ve been working on my arachnophobia for a good 25 years!) I can now fairly confidently and safely relocate our local black widows from building materials or around the house without swatting or squashing. Thank you!
Small steps my friend ❤️👍
Please don't burn that house down, it's not a good idea...😜😄 I myself suffered from big-time arachnophobia, but! I took it upon myself to go to a reptile show and SEE those tarantulas...
I thought, they were the size of dinner plates, man, was I wrong!🤣🤦♂️
I got to hold a very sweet, small one, and it was as if my horror disappeared, like water turning into steam, and just disappearing, altogether. Try it, I can ONLY recommend it. I am about to buy my 12th spider here in October.😉
Hugs from Copenhagen, Denmark. 🇩🇰
Thanks Dave & Camera Lady! I always enjoy your videos! I went with a C. Cyaneopubescens (GBB) & C. Versicolor slings as my first T's. Unfortunately my versicolor died suddenly, I think it was S.A.D. However my Cyanapubesens is doing awesome. I am so happy I got her as one of my first, I love her so much. Now I plan on many many more, lol. But your videos have helped me with a lot of questions about her and her care. So again thank you!
My female Chili Rose used to sit on my shoulder alot, never been bitten by my spiders. Love your vids.
I want one just like that!
When I was a kid, I had a chicken, that I made tame, and also liked to sit on my shoulder! Then, when I became a teen, we got a puppy. She loved to sit wrapped around my neck, like one of these cheezy fox-skins, that not-so-rich ladies had on top of their coats!😄 Actually, when our doggy became a grown-up, she STILL wanted to sit ALL up on my lap, and she was a German Shorthair!🤣 Not very small, anymore... but she insisted. She also slept in my bed. Amazingly loving dog. Never angry...😥
I got into spiders through your breeding videos .I ended up getting 5 obt's I couldn't be happier and they are all growing fast and healthy
Thats awesome ❤️👍
in my experience the Sazimai is an perfekt Beginner too. Calm, long live and Beautiful Color.
Thank you for giving us beginners some of your time and expertise. It was nice to see some spiders that I actually own, to compare and get some advice from someone I trust.
So nice of you❤️❤️❤️❤️
also one more species good for beginners is Grammostola Pulchripes "golden knee"
Dave you’re the best. You and tom moran have the best all around tarantula channels for actual information for the hobbyist!
wow thank you 🙏
My partner and I will soon be getting our first spider, a gbb and I have to say its all thanks to you. I was so terrified of spiders I couldn't even watch them on TV, I'd go screaming out the house if I saw the tiniest house spider. I'm still a bit scared of them but thanks to how calm and informative you are I'm getting over my fear and the Mrs is very happy she's getting spider. Thankyou for the awesome channel
Thats fantastic I so hope you enjoy your new spider just remember to follow the simple rules and im sure you will be fine , always here to help if needed ❤👍
Loved the video Dave very informative! My daughter and I are here at this to intermediate stage. We love our spiders!
Love this video
My B Emilia is a burrower, she is a juvenile and loves to stay In her burrow. I keep her in an enclosure with about 5 to 6 inches of substrate and dampen one corner every week. She seems to be doing great and has molted twice for me. Just love her colors 😊
That's how I keep my B hamorii, which moulted last week for me 😁
Thank you for the information for beginners And we have a beautiful collection thank you for sharing🕸🕷
I have an adorable grown male B. Auratum in a terra next to my sofa. In the evening he comes to sit on the glass next to me and tap his feet🥰. He loves his substrate bone dry, but takes a bath in his waterdish from time to time. He likes to lie spread out in the open and I like to think that is because he feels safe and happy. I really love that spider❤
❤❤❤
What's the name of your spider?
@@Ujuani68 it doesn't have one
@@Ujuani68 Since I got him at easter I named him Jesús, but I call him Nacho (after Nacho Libre movie) because he jumps down from things (glass, roots, plants) like a little wrestler
I had a rosehair that i raised from sling to 6 yearold adult female. Beautiful color. Super docile , loved to sleep in my warm hand. Aggressive eater , she would jump 5 inches up and take food from my tongs. She would also burrow and make webbed tunnels all over the tank (substrate was maybe 4-5 inches deep) Best spider i ever had
When you said she’s doing the “happy dance “ then we see the roach struggle and I’m laying here saying to myself well the roach certainly isn’t doing the happy dance lol that did make me giggle 🙊
😂😂😂😂❤
@@daveslittlebeasties haha 😂 gotta have a laugh hey ❤️
Prrro-bably not....😜🤣
When you first said “curly hair spider” I had to go look it up as I had visions of a spider with a tight perm snd a blue rinse.😂 I didn’t know you were going to show us one.
The grandma spider!🤣👍❤️
They say Brachy's are slow growers, but my Curly Hair (female) has grown fairly quick, she is well over 4 inches, and she is only 18 months old. Yet my Nhando's who I've been told grow fairly quick, seem to have grown half as quick. I have a G.pulcripes that is the same age as the Nhando's (all confirmed females) that is slightly larger at the same age. They was all bought 18 months ago (roughly) all bought at the same time, and they was all 1cm slings. The fastest grower so far in my small new world collection, is the GBB. Mine has grown super fast (also female) and is also the most interesting T in my collection. I have bought 12 T's since I entered the hobby 2 years ago. Only one of my T's I bought as a confirmed female, the rest I purchased as unsexed. Only 1 of my T's have turned out to be male (B.hamorii) so I have been very lucky. The B.hamorii is probably 5 and a half inches now, and is in premolt, so if it isn't this molt, it won't be too many more molts before he matures. Then I would like to hand him over to someone who will have a go at Breeding him. I don't think I could bare him keep wandering around his enclosure looking for a female that he will never find.
Nhandus are awesome, and their feeding response is sometimes like Garfield in a lasagna place!🤣🤦♂️
Thank you bunches. They are so pretty.
I watched your video on my 50 inch TV and WOW it makes a difference seeing the spiders.
❤️❤️❤️
Started out in February with a B boehmei. She was 3inches when I got her but must be pushing 4 now.
She's never kicked a hair at me :) And I've only ever seen her kick hairs once. All around her hide a day before she molted.
Absolutely lovely spiders and I think you're right about the care. If you're gentle and calm there's no reason for the spider to kick so much hairs.
The quality of the video was great Dave!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Curly hairs are gorgeous I’d absolutely love to get one to be part of our ‘’pack “ but after been bitten by a Chilean rose T and being EXTREMLY ill with it I’m now scared stiff to get another I was sick as a dog for a good week and a half had to go into hospital the worse thing is I have emetiphobia (extremely severe phobia of throwing up) I’ve held off getting another one my all time fave is a gooty sapphire or the Metallica species I keep watching your videos and seriously think about it we shall see watch this space be safe and be well to you Dave and your lovely camera lady x
The P. metallica's venom is WORSE than from the Grammo, let you be warned! One of my friends got bitten by his P. ornata, and he was sick for a week, too!
A _Tliltocatl albopilosus_ (curlyhair) would be a great choice for you. Most are very docile, and with proper technique (not handling the tarantula or doing maintenance with your bare hands), a bite would be extremely unlikely.
Another good option is the _Grammostola pulchra_ (Brazilian black); people call them the black labs of tarantulas.
I would not want to be bitten by any _Poecilotheria_ ("Pokie").
Again., another great video Dave, great advice too, nice little treat seeing that feeding clip.., I didn't expect that.. 👍😃👍
Thanks 👍
I respect you highly. Your videos are helping me deal with my phobia. I will say these spiders are beautiful. I will own one, one day.
Glad I could help
❤️❤️❤️
@@rakimtheking You’re not alone there. I absolutely love how many ˋphobes are in Dave‘s comment section, he really does make us feel safe. ❤
Im relatively new to the hobby and i have 4 spiders so far . Carebena versicolour, lasadoria parabyhana, t,angustum and gramastola pulcripes
absolutely fantastic David.. and in the immoral words written by Charles Dickens and spoken by Oliver Twist low those many years ago.. "Please sir, may I have some more!" 😊
😂😂😂😂❤👍
This man is so gentle with these spiders. I love that. Another wonderful video. So glad he showed up in my recommended videos! I'm subscribing. Thumbs up.
Thank you very much! and welcome to our channel 👍❤️
Absolutely love this video, Dave. I have no idea why people feel the need to handle their spiders. Seriously! I mean, say you have a goldfish you really love - do you take it in the bath with you? Or, do you play with it because it approaches you when you go to feed it and therefore it "knows" you and "wants" you to play with it - so you take it out and put it in a glass of water to watch tv with you?? Good grief...it's the same thing! Just give your spider the best home possible and enjoy it within its environment. You don't need to handle it!!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍
Love ur channel. Even tho im scared of spiders. And im thinking of getting a turantula. 😁😊😊
Thats awesome ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Dave! Fantastic video! I have a brachypelma boehmi that I call Speedy because it teleports!! I have 3 of the tarantulas that you showed. 😀
Just like Avics!😄 They are such a likeable species;
Usually chill and slowly soft in their movements... until they just ..explode with energy and joy!😄
They are all just beautiful and 😊👍
I needed this, Thank you! I accidentally jumped the gun into Old World because she was so beautiful! Quezon Blue Earth Tiger
After watching your videos we had a very calm easy rehousing; Calm, Gentle and loving my spider ❤
Thats awesome my friend 👍
I just love how loving you are with all of your little family 💞
The only way to be.... Theyre such misunderstood creatures... i love them all... but theres some i wouldnt keep just because of their venom or aggressiveness
Fantastic video Dave, your collection is definitely 'world class', in addition to your expert knowledge and experience, which is abundantly evident. Absolutely beautiful specimens of spiders. We'll have to call you 'Peter Parker' - The Amazing Spider Man! Cheers.
Glad you enjoyed it❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Good gravy I hope Dave never stops making videos
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Really interesting video. I enjoyed it very much. Lovely spiders!
Awesome job mate, it was great to meet you and Beth yesterday at Western show, (Welsh guy, black polo shirt) 👍
It’s always great to catch up with people ❤️❤️❤️
Awesome video and information, thank you for making it and sharing your experience gained advice! Currently keeping rats myself, they're wonderful but not very long lived, might consider something with more legs in the future given their life spans are often longer.
I really enjoyed your recent video on the emerald cockroaches, and although they also don't live long I'm thinking they might be a good way to break into keeping non-mammalian pets, as I've really only ever had mammals before. They seem relatively easy to care for and feed and breed, look stunning, and would give me experience in keeping the same kind of creature as I'd need as a food source if I wanted anything bigger.
Though admittedly the first arachnid I'd like to try keeping would be jumping spiders, something a bit less huge and a bit more interactive, although again with the short life spans!
This video is so helpful I also agree that tarantulas don’t want to be picked up, they do not gain anything from the experience. If you want to pick it up get a dog or cat an animal that will love you to pick up and cuddle!
Thank you for this really informative video, I will start with a jumping spider, I know some spider CZcamsrs don’t rate the little jumpers but for me I think it will make me more confident!
You have an amazing channel, you are an amazing couple! ❤️❤️❤️
Jumpers are cool little spiders and a good starting point ❤️👍
Two of those Spiders sound like cousin's to my Texas Red. (Texas Brown Spider)
Hi Dave. I'm a new subscriber and I've thoroughly enjoyed your channel content! I've always been terribly afraid of spiders (especially when in my home!) but watching your channel the last couple weeks has me more fascinated than scared. Not quite ready to head out and purchase one just yet, though. ;) If you don't have a video on the anatomy of spiders and how their spinnerets function that you could point me towards, I think it would make an excellent topic for a future video. Thanks and keep the most excellent content coming! I'm hooked now. 🕷
We will see what we can do ❤️👍
Kaye... Always remind yourself - the spiders you're afraid of - are more scared of you. You're WAY too big for them to treat you as food. As with most creatures - they'll only bite if they're cornered, or feel threatened.
Even your house spiders - would rather run away from you, if you give them the space to do so.
Remember - you share your home with countless 'mini-beasts'... most of whom are food for the spiders.
Very interesting Dave and T, thank you. 💗💙
That was great
Thank you 🙏
This was a very educational and interesting video. The last spider shown is stunning. I can't imagine someone handling a spider. Common sense. I would not view it as a pet but a hobby that takes a lot of care. Be well.
Hey Dave, thanks for the advice. One criticism...you've covered up your cool Dave's Little Beasties sign! 😉
I know I run out of room and need to have a jiggle around 😂👍
I love the Brachypelmas, even if they are a "beginner" spider. Mine are always out on display, and many in the genus are some of the prettiest spiders in the world. I was interested you were recommending a decent humidity with them. I haven't had much luck with that, so I try to err on the side of dryness. Probably your humidity control is better than mine.
Remember humidity does not mean wet soil 👍and 50-60% is pretty much what the average room is but you hardly notice it 👍
Awesome video 📹 👏 thank you Mr and Mrs Dave 😊 I 100% agree with the not handling them 👍 😍😍😍
Nice choices of beginner spiders! I wanted to add that all of the Aphonopelma species would be great for starters as well, I really have a soft spot for them ❤
Still waaaay too large for me and I d burn my house down BUT been watching loads of your videos and bought a spider catch fiber pole AND had the courage to catch 2 spiders and put them outside 😃 #proudofmyself
Now these spiders looked like ants in comparison to yours, but gotta start somewhere right ! And Thank God we don't have those large spiders in NL 😅
You got this girl we will make a spider whisper of you yet ❤️❤️❤️
Yet again m8 another awesome video, and Brilliant information 👏 👌
Thanks for doing this Dave, its always good to know your recommendations even for us beginners. :)
We are all beginners my friend 👍❤️just at different stages ❤️❤️❤️❤️
excellent video Dave, loved it
From across the pond in North Carolina, been in the hobby for decades and am 60 now and have a bit of knowledge keeping not so much breeding T's, but to get to the point, I really enjoy your content, you are one of my favorite youtubers, so informative and enjoyable to watch, thanks so much! and keep up the good work.
Thats fantastic we appreciate your support ❤️❤️❤️
Hey Dave!
Sorry for my late comment, i haven`t been able to watch the video until now.
Great video Dave! All very good species for beginners, and might i add, very pretty species as well! You did a good job explaining about each one, explaining why they would make good beginner spiders. You seem to have a knack for teaching Dave, it comes so naturally!
I have a few suggestions for videos similar to this: This video but other inverts that are not tarantulas. Do one for intermediate as you mentioned and maybe one for expert keepers as well. And while i`m giving you video ideas: a new feeding video and a resource collecting video, those would be awesome! And a new maintenance video, love those and another Beastie Room night walk.
Alright`i`m off to watch your newest video as it`s out at the time of writing this, i shall have a comment up on that soon! I hope you, Camera Lady (who btw did an amazing job with the footage in this video) and the Beasties are well! Reply if you like Dave! See you in a few minutes in the next video! Unboxings, love me a Dave`s Little Beasties unboxing! Much love from Ontario, Canada!
Some of them videos are coming 👍👍👍
@@daveslittlebeasties Hey glad to hear it Dave, good man 👊☺!
A. geniculata ftw! I saw the video title and was curious if you think of that species like I do and I´m glad you drew the same picture of them as I would. I chose to start the hobby with 3 of them because they never let you forget what they are capable of and not to underestimate even NW Tarantulas. Even after ten months, they can still freak me out with their unpredictable behaviour when it comes to feeding. One time they chase the slightest movement, another time they sit like a rock for ages and in the next second, they jump onto the prey out of nothing. Gets me every time.
And they are like architects, give them enough clutter to play around with and their enclosures will look different almost every day.
Great video mate. It was nice to see you yesterday.
You too mate always good to catch up , Brighton next 😂👍
Best arachnid channel on the platform, hands down. Big ups, Dave
WOW thank you 🙏
so many people think beginner Ts are boring...... not the case at all! You showed just how beautiful and interesting these underrated spiders are
I like your spiders. I also like your videos.
Well done Dave!! Beginners need videos like this to help them grow healthy tarantulas! I know that when I was a newbie I soaked up every video I could find! And if anyone can teach them the proper way to care for their spiders, it's you! Bravo!🥰
Great video again. You covered that really well. I started out with pretty much all of those you mentioned. They are very forgiving. I started out with small slings when they don't have colour and found they made caring for them easily. Labeling them was my main mistake when I first got them as my collection grew and I forgot which was which. Something I rectify immediately I buy or rehouse any new additions.
Thank you Dave for opening my eyes to this world. I've never been a huge fan of arachnids, nor doubt I will ever be, but I find your channel to be absolutely fascinating. I am now glued to the TV every evening, not only admiring the superb specimens that you have in your collection, but also listening intently to your words of wisdom on the topic.
Thank you my friend ❤️❤️👍
Damn, it Dave! I'm going to end up with a spider if I keep watching your stuff 😆
Thats brilliant ❤️
Like the stereotypical 'cat lady'... it starts with one, but - sooner or later... you'll want MORE (muh ha ha haaaaa ) !
Hi Dave loving your variations of content my kids owned a B Vagans that had more attuide then some of my Baboon spiders. 👍
Another cracking video, thank you, would love to see an intermediate one. Keep up the good informative work.
Always appreciate your time
Thank you 🙏
Great video very informative!!!
Great video Dave & Camera Lady!! I would love to see a top 10 on advanced spiders and a top 10 on expert spiders that would be great! Thanks again for the video it was a really good watch! atb.
Noted!
Oh this episode will be for me
I am scared of fast moving spiders , so if your arachphobic then I would get one and get the experience
Brilliant, informative video, Dave - especially the part about not needing to handle the spiders. So glad I stumbled on your channel.
Great video, thanks for sharing, and always being awesome with your critters. ✌🏻
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I’m waiting for my first spiderling to arrive and now I know why we keep them in small tubs, not big ones 👍
Dave is definitely one of the best when it comes to explaining the research, temperament, how to regulate and keep an environment suited to a specific tarantula species needs etc, it’s a lot more entertaining and informational than reading WikiHow!😋💯👊
My first T was a braccy Emilia, now I have had Ts and inverts over 10yrs I do like my more aggressive Ts now I've had the experience in care and husbandry ...great video from the beastie room as always❤️
