    What I really like is the "Bang & Olufsen" writing on the side of the device. I simply too often forget which sound system I'm using. So this is highly welcome and it shows that HPs design team is thinking a lot about helping us forgetful people! I wished they would also show the processor manufacturer and the company producing the memory on the side.

    This could've been such a good laptop, even one of the top choices for the year. Seriously, what the hell were they thinking?

    I watched this review and still bought this laptop, and I'm actually very happy with it. While I've enjoyed other reviews on this channel, for me, this one didn't seem very balanced.
    * Battery life is fantastic here - best in class on Windows, and the charging is fast. I was sick of awful battery life on Razer Blade.
    * Thermals are exceptional - it's incredibly cool, never uncomfortable to have on my laptop.
    * Also super happy with the webcam and mic, the HP device software elevates both. I took a meeting outside with a lawnmower going next door, and I was shocked it couldn't be heard by others on the call.
    * I like that it's a touch screen.
    * Brightness is good and comfortable to use outside. Glossy screen is also a pro here.
    * Love the build quality and keyboard. I actually prefer a bit more solidity with some extra weight over the thin and lights.
    I'm no laptop reviewer of course, but as an average user, the compromises here like a lower-res screen in return for better battery life are ones I'm happy with.
    On the common criticisms...
    * I use bluetooth a ton and don't often need IO other than USB C. I threw a hub from Anker in my backpack and haven't thought about it since. Better IO would be nice, but it honestly doesn't affect my day to day.
    * The HP keys on the side don't matter to me much, and the device one is actually quite useful to change webcam and mic settings. I've used laptops with num pads that I never use so why would it bother much to have one less used column on the side đŸ€·
    * On the price front, I might be paying a premium for the experience I wanted, but I'm ok with that.
    My biggest caveat is that I would prefer a 15-inch laptop, but 14 inches is fine.
    My favorite thing about other reviews on this channel has been the recognition that what matters is that the laptop meets your needs. For me, this laptop is much more useful than the many gaming laptops on the market that are often popular on review channels. It exceeds in meeting my day to day needs.

    • @JustJoshTech
      @JustJoshTech  Pƙed rokem +1

    I'll never understand what HP was thinking when they decided to start this line of laptops. They can't fool people into thinking paying a higher price tag for a "business" laptop has any more benefit if you dig deeper into it. Really sad how badly some manufacturers understand their market.

    Awesome review as always!
    Calling a Laptop "Pro" without ANY aspect of it being exceptional (CPU, GPU, color accuracy+resolution or at least acceptable performance while being super light weight) indeed feels a bit scammy. It feels like HP deliberately tried to make the laptop heavy and look good to pretend there is some serious hardware inside. And because of that they charge you some hefty money.
    I mean look at the power brick! It says 98W and say to yourself "Uu, big power brick for a strong laptop!", It's such a BS marketing strat 😂

    Thanks for the review Josh. In our house my wife has an ASUS VivoBook (few years old) and I have a MacBook Air M2 (pretty new) that came in under that price point. And nowadays unless you're on a tight budget, you're gaming, or you need some very specific piece of Windows software, there is absolutely no reason to buy a Windows laptop at all. A few years ago this wasn't true but with these new Apple silicon laptops, the competition is almost laughable in almost every area. The charger is tiny. Are you literally such a bad reviewer that you expect a charger to not actually charge a device while it's in use? Like seriously, what are you thinking?

    Why HP why? Why get rid of headphone jack and immediately alienate anyone using it for DAW or other audio work?

      I think this laptop was designed by a group of NPCs at HP. They must hire anyone!

    After you said that it doesn't have a headphone jack I completely lost interest in this laptop. I am so annoyed that this trend has slipped from smartphones to laptops. Not all of us use Bluetooth earbuds and prefer wired headphones. Give us choices!!
