This was really soothing. I loved that you didn't really speed it up a lot as that meant that I could watch it while giving my cat a mani/pedi and a good brushing and not miss anything. I've been playing around with my singles during the last week and this inspired me to pull them out for a bit more playtime.
One thing I'd love to see is you do a swatch playtime swatching and comparing the shades in all of your new different colour coordinated palettes! That's one of my favourite things to do!

You have such a beautiful collection!! 👌💜 Would you consider doing palette tours and going through all the individual shadows in each color palette? So much pretty. 😍 Also, this totally highlights for me how much I desperately wish brands who favor the giant pans would at least give an option for a smaller pan size!! It's such a pain working the giant ones into palettes. (I'm looking at you, JD Glow, Give Me Glow, and Sugarpill! Grrrrrrr 😝)

Hahaha sorry for the small heart attacks! I can often be pretty ruthless with my shadows when I'm rearranging. 🙈
Great video! Color is your neutral. ;) I would enjoy to see eye looks/small palettes inspired by fish as you have so many metallics, duochromes, sparklers, etc. Ex: Koi, Siamese fighting fish, Parrot fish, Tang. Stay well all!

The organizing of single shadows is so relaxing . I needed some calming after being in the house. We are a family of 6 and our younger child is 3. We had to close our business but we are still taking care of employees. We are a small business and it has been stressful but our employees have family too.. We all have our health and we are sticking together during this hard time. I wish everyone the best and we will ALL get through this together.

I legit have like a few single shadows which I don't use all the time. I mostly use palettes. Maybe do eye shadow bingo with your singles? Just throwing that idea out there.
I feel like single shadows are very specifically a thing or not a thing for people. And there’s nothing wrong. With it being not a thing for you because it’s an expensive makeup hobby! And I love the bingo idea!

Oh do you have a video on how to get the GMG and JdG shadows into the 26 mm pans? I'm getting ready to do that with my electric unicorn 🦄 and before I f*ck up a $22 shadow, I'd at least like to know I somewhat researched.
Love the video but my OCD is killing me me with the square eye shadow pans and the circle eyeshadow pans together some of the colors aren't next to the other similar colors and some of the colors aren't matching.

I love that you started swatching all your singles by color family and am hoping you will also do a video swatching all your franken shadows and telling what they are made up of. I have alot of repeat shades because, like a clown I keep buying my favorites shades, just different brands... dont judge me :/
anyway I am toying with the idea of making franken shadows with the duplicates but i am afraid to get started
Jessica, you saw how many shadows I own. I cannot judge ANYONE ELSE for buying similar colors from different brands! Also I hate to disappoint you but I have no clue what is in my different frankenshadows. I highly recommend checking out Faces By Gina on Instagram for really helpful shadow pressing videos.

Emily where did you get the 26 mm pans for repressing? Where they expensive? Interested in making some frakenshadows❤️ too scared to repress my JD glow shadows.. they’re so beautiful! And I think it was so smart and sweet of you to share some repressed JD glows with your friends. They are so big-one person will never use one up!
I got them on amazon, not expensive in my opinion. Around $8 for 50 pans? The JD Glow shadows dry-press easily but I can understand not wanting to sacrifice any to errors!
Emily Hanhan dry-press like you just scraped some out and pressed it into a new pan without adding alcohol or any liquid? Interesting🤔
I learned this technique from an Instagram (and CZcams) account Faces By Gina. Crumble and “cut up” a shadow as best you can with a little spatula, fill the pan and use a round magnet sticker (which fits perfectly into the pan) to press it. All my singles are currently seperated by brand so I'm totally on board with reorg-ing them by color after this video.
I tried, I really did... but I just don't love having them separated by brand. The only ones that I am tempted to separate again are Lethal and Menagerie, the dang squares. 🤣
@@imperfectlyEm the square and larger circle pans do present a problem for the general aesthetic. I'm definitely not patient enough to transfer and repress then but we shall see if it drives me crazy or if I can just ignore them
I would LOVE to repress all my JD Glow shadows into standard 26mm pans but I am scared...I eneded up repressing two back into their original plans and not thrilled with outcome. Did you do anything special or different? I simply crush up and add a high percentage alcohol to make a slurry of sorts and repress into pan. Please share your process and any tips!!!!!
So I learned from an instagram (and youtube) account Faces By Gina to try repressing shadows DRY. So I repressed the JD Glow shadows dry. This dry technique is also ideal for matte shadows, alcohol will often really mess up matte formulas.
But also, IF you do want to repress a shimmer formula using alcohol, don't make a liquid. Add *just enough* alcohol (drop by drop) until the shadow starts to clump together! You don't need a lot of alcohol to get to that point.
How do you keep track of what brand/shade name they are when they are depotted?
I'm not the best at always labeling things but typically I do label the bottom of the shadow with a round sticker. I'll write the brand and color (and sometimes the name of the palette it's from).
That opal ring is gorgeous! Where are your rings from?
Most of the rings in this video is just from places like TJ Maxx and Marshall's. No main brand I can recommend.
