I love how professional you guys act while maintaining a healthy bromance, and how respectful you are to the locations. I'm an urbexer myself, and I always follow the code. "Leave only footprints, take only pictures." You see all this graffiti, disrespectful hooligans tagging places, and it makes me so angry. Thank you for being such paragons of what urbexing should be, and sharing your experiences with the world.
You have to love their enthusiasm and energy in exploring. I read a request from another explorer asking how he could get more people interested in his videos. He is alone in his adventures. I think that his filming needs work and his work could be better if he had a good collaborator. One thing this explorer has going for him is not using public bathroom explicatives.I think professionals
I also love the way they enter places with genuine curiosity for what the place used to be like and the people who used it.
I consider vandalism as part of the natural decay these structures go through. You know it's not cared for when there's graffiti on the walls.
Graffiti can be cool. I thought it was particularly charming in this one.
The true disrespectful people are the ones who leave the building there to rot.
I read this as "school of dark arts" and thought you were exploring Hogwarts.

It says "olio di oliva" on boxes where the bottles are. Thus, those have probably been bottles containing olive oil.
Or they just grabbed some spare boxes from a market to store all the extra wine...
Glad nobody defiled the main chapel. I'm not religious by any means, but it was a beautiful place.

Teachers + Italians + communion = The holy trinity of wine drinkers.
I have full blooded Italians in the family by marriage. Wine is served EVERY dinner, regardless of what is on the table. Lasagna? Wine. Chicken alfredo? Wine. Pizza? Wine. Grilled hamburgers or hotdogs? Wine, I kid you not.

The animals at 11:15 are symbols of the evangelists: the Lion stands for Mark, the Ox or Calf for Luke, the Angel or Man for Matthew and the Eagle for John.

hey guys! at 11:18 you ask if the animals have symbolic meaning and they do! each animal represents the writers of the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Matthew is a winged man, Mark is a winged lion, Luke is a winged ox and John is an eagle.

Those wide open dorms remind me of the ones I had to stay in for a band trip.. Even the bed frames are identical. It was hell.
All the beds squeaked with every movement so when you’re sharing a room with 20 people it becomes really hard to sleep. Then on top of that everyone got up at different times. I only had to deal with it for a couple nights so I can’t imagine going a whole school year like that ugh
Boy was that a beautiful chapel. FYI: the animals you see in the stained glass windows symbolise the four evangelists. The Eagle is John, the Lion is Mark and the Ox is Luke. The child's face represents Matthew.

That church was gorgeous! At 9:54 there was another spider on the floor to the right that was probably having a face off with the one on the wall. Lol 😂 The big common dorm room with a ton of beds seems like what you would see in old movies where they all had to go to bed at a certain time each night and the nuns would make sure they were asleep. Cool find!
Glass bottles for water are not uncommon in Italy

Yep, but they are usually transparent.
Olive oil or wine commonly are on green or brown bottles.
Anyway, at 10.33 there is a box of olive oil, inside the room there are 2 flasks (in italian is "fiaschi", i don't know if flasks is the right translation) usually used for wine. On the box on the right there is the write "L'aranciatissima", orange juice and to the bottle on the left the written seems "Cantina" that is winery.

Christian tradition also links this Tetramorph to the four Gospels: John being the Eagle, Luke the Ox, Mark the Lion and Matthew the Man.

Also randomly the four heads are also found on the corners on The World in the Tarot decks too, which is why is fascinated me when I read what you wrote as that’s where I knew these four faces were of the same description. So loosely linked even though Tarot is not religious per se.

Judging by the kneeling rails on the pews, I'd say this was a Catholic school, which would explain all of the wine. Blood of Christ and all that.

I’m really happy I stumbled across your channel. I do urban exploring in Chattanooga Tennessee but do not put it on CZcams yet. I have one that is underground Chattanooga that I did put up. It’s in the original building where the first Coca-Cola bottle was blown

Very interesting example of 1960's architecture, but the portion of the wine cellar with the arched vaulted ceiling looked much older. The well designed formal interiors remind me a lot of the sanctuary in the church I go to, which was built in 1968.
Why was it closed down? The location is really nice and they seem to be well equipped. Also, the main chapel is lovely with the painted windows still intact
Either lack of attendance to due expensive fees OR something to do with new laws intrudeced in 1978 which endend institutions...
I've watched a lot of your videos, but this is really one of the standouts to me. Maybe it's just the location. Loved the visuals of the chapels, especially the one with the stained glass windows.

The hillsides around the school are beautiful. And the paintings inside the main chapel area were really cool to see. Once again, another great video, lads.

Those were water bottles. Yes water came in glass bottles that look like wine.

I lived in a big open-room dorm like that in boot camp. It was definitely a weird experience.
Maybe how monks would bottle and sell wine (among other goods) this school had a similar business to subsidize the school?

They definitely have good camera skills and are working very hard. I do think they could work on their dialogue having less expletives. I have to pull my nose off the screen when they drop an f-bomb.
That weird looking cricket looked like a camel cricket. That chapel part with all that stained glass looked absolutely magnificent.
In the chapel, the stained glass windows represent the four evangelists. Matthew is the Man; Mark is the Lion; Luke is the Calf and John is the Eagle. You will often see the lion, the calf, and the eagle used in religious artwork.
Despite the lack of privacy in the dorms, this place looks like it was light and pleasant surroundings for study back in its heyday.

I would say about the wine it may be sacramental wine for Sunday service which I would assume they had. Based on the size of the school it seems like about the right amount to keep stocked.

This place is gorgeous.
It has some nice rooms and nice windows, but all those dorms and beds there not gorgeous. The feeling that bad things happened here overshadows any excitement I had for the video. Also,the f-bombs are distracting.
I really enjoy seeing the same location from different explorers perspectives. I watched broken window theory’s video and now I’m watching yours. I found your channel first and you lead me to bwt. I enjoy both takes on the locations you view together.

When I went through military training we had open bays with 10 sets of 4 lockers spaced down the middle as well as 10 sets of 2 lockers on the side walls of the room. Showers, toilets, sinks and exit at the front and another exit at the rear. It could accommodate 80 soldiers. We had bunk beds.

The face on the wall at 4:55 reminds me of an urbex explorer wearing a mouth filter mask , love your vidios and your theme music ... These get me through the day too !... all those bottles , they musta had their own vineyard and over reacted on some of the overhead .

A lot of graffiti in English, I wouldn't have expected that in Italy
I went to a war museum about 6 years ago and it had parts of the Berlin wall on display. One side had quite a bit of English graffiti on it, saying stuff like "tear down the wall" and "freedom." It also had the German word for freedom a couple times.

Judging by the location and the mural of the nun (I think that’s Saint Maria Mazarello, the foundress of the Salesian Sisters of Our Lady, Help of Christians), I think this was a Salesian boarding school and/or a house of formation for the community. Also, the age of the building hearkens back to a time in the mid-20th century when many religious communities forecasted (wrongly) a great influx of vocations and so they built massive places of formation for their future members. When that didn’t really happen, they had to find other uses for the facilities.
You need to remember that you are on a different continent when you try to identify creatures, though in the case of the cave cricket around 9:05 you were correct, that was incidentally an Italian Cave Cricket or Troglophilus andreinii.
I mean. I think nobody is really worried about a cricket. It's just a cricket.
Woo! Always love getting the notification about a new video. I've been watching a bunch of other urbex videos recently and I feel like all the others are amateurs compared to The Proper People.
They are. Everyone just hopped onto the urbex wagon for views. There aren't many genuine urbex channels anymore. It sucks.
There are other urban explorers that do a great job. Some just have a different style and you don't have to be in Europe to find great explores, not that there's anything wrong with Europe.
I am so behind on their videos ;-; I need to binge watch.
In reference to the smelly room: Some believe that bad smells or odors mean there's some sort of evil entity or demonic spirit inhabiting the area or room.
Some people are not very logical.
