- This is not particularly a video we wanted to make or that we ever imagined we would go through. I have pixilated all footage showing blood and injuries.
We were terrified and we are still shocked, but we are all ok now.
Dolly is a little trooper and has come out of her surgery so well, my hand is healing beautifully .
But, heres exactly what happened on what we think is possibly the worst experience of our lives.
We are currently on on 9 week trip to Spain in our motorhome, although this has stalled in France where we need to stay for 2 more weeks so Dolly can be treated and signed off as fit.

Can’t believe what happened to Dolly, she is so gorgeous. Same happened to my small Lhasa apso dog attack on a campsite while my dogs were on a lead, large dog grabbed her neck and wouldn’t let go, she survived after a large a large vet bill(money no option)and it shook me as well taking my dogs out. Take care all of you and hope she has a speedy recovery ❤

This brought tears to my eyes, especially Dolly being so happy to see you. As a fellow human, a dog owner and a psychotherapist I can see the trauma in this intense event from many angles. I'm catching up on old videos so I'm glad to already know that Dolly and Corrin are physically ok now, 5 months on, but I'm sure this will have stayed with you, emotionally. Redders, your protective instincts are alive and well. So much I could say, but I'm not sure the words matter as much as just sending love and ongoing hopes for healing your way.❤

This is an absolute worry of mine, so many people these days do not take proper responsibility for their aggressive dogs. Well done to you for dealing with those people the way you did, I’m afraid to say I’m not sure I’d have had the same self control in that situation. I’m so glad Dolly and Corrin are on the mend at least physically, I’m sure the psychological scars will take a little bit longer to heal ❤ You’ve definitely given me some things to think about when travelling with my dogs and the first thing on my list is to get a dog first aid kit for my campervan, but also one for home.

I’m so sorry to hear about the awful incident with Dolly (we were holding back the tears watching this vlog), and the vets were clearly genuine people (can’t believe how cheap the treatment was compared to UK vet prices). I hope both Dolly and Corrin make full and fast recoveries. As a dog owner I get so annoyed with awful dog owners who don’t deserve to have animals. Take care of yourselves and please give updates of how Dolly (and Corrin) are progressing♥.

My uncle was a police dog handler I remember him saying to separate two dogs fighting grab a hind leg or one of the dogs, keeps your hands away from the danger zone, I’m giving a virtual hug from our van in Spain to you🐕❤️

Huge hugs I can only imagine what you went through. I'm so sorry you had to go through this. I used to have 3 dogs, one was a 13 and a half year old staffi who sadly passed a couple of years ago, although a staffi she was only a bit viscous if anyone came near me on a walk, so she was always on a lead and had a muzzle when I took her a walk. After realising that only happened with me my sons then started taking her on walks, she didn't need the muzzle with them. Hopefully you and Dolly recover very soon and can get past this horrible situation. Xx

Such a shame this has happened on your enjoyable trip away,I own a very large breed dog and I’ll be honest isn’t always great with other dogs so therefore I keep her on a lead at all times.I do this to try and be a good responsible owner,What a shame for your poor dog wishing her a speedy recovery and also your hand

What a terrible time you have had and so distressing. You will most definitely still be in shock, how does anyone cope with that kind of thing. People don’t understand that our dogs/pets are our children and it is totally devastating when anything happens to them. Hi Drew and Linda, it was horrible, and with the injury needing compression and a hand bitten we had no choice to move quickly, the owners of the dog just disappeared , and then it just went to chaos to find a vet , really appreciate your lovely comments , thankyou so much from us all xx 🥰🥰🐩🐩

Every dog owners worst nightmare, its bad enough in your own country, but when in another country it must be even more horrific !!! So glad you both got sorted by a very well caring vet, who tbh was very reasonable priced. Hopefully she will have no long term effects by this terrible ordeal. How is the other dog of yours btw ? Very good point about a dog first aid kit, going to check with our vet next week about putting a first aid kit together and keeping it in our van when we are out and about. I'm so glad you are both OK after such a dreadful ordeal. You just feel so helpless when an animal is hurting but really well done for having that first aid kit for her 👍. That has made me think!

Being a veterinary nurse myself,
I am glad to hear Dolly received excellent veterinary treatment.
There is a compressed air spray you can purchase in a small aerosol can. It will fit in a pocket and useful to spray in the face of the attacking dog.
It makes a loud hissing noise as it shoots compressed air out.
Just a suggestion, might help you feel a little more confident to expel an unwanted dog.

How scary and terrible for you. Glad to see that you were able to work through it all and that Dolly is on the mend. Our Cockerpoo was attacked by 2 German shephards in the UK. They were off the lead and they attacked like a pack. The owners were devastated and agreed they need to keep them on the lead. Our dog was fine but psychologically scared and won't even enter the field where it happened again. Wishing you a much better safer ongoing trip and looking forward to much happier videos! ❤

Dolly should be proud of you both for putting her welfare uppermost in your thoughts and actions. The way you handled this is a lesson for all of us in how not to make an awful situation even worse. Making this video must have been especially painful for you Corrin but you were right to share the experience. After following you and enjoying your wonderful upbeat and informative vlogs since you first started your travels, and finding you to be warm and caring people we hope that you all will soon make a speedy recovery.
It was music to our ears to know that you are not cutting your travels short, and once Dolly has been signed off by the vet that you will continue with your travels.
We noticed even though you have been through this traumatic time your thoughts are for others and being able to help others guide their way through the difficulties of finding help and getting treatment. A testimony of the sort of people you are, thank you.

As fellow dog owners and caravners our hearts go out to you and Dolly. What an awful experience which both upset us and and made us angry. Upset for you and Dolly and angry how some people dont take responsibility for their dogs and even more so when they had a child with them. Thankfully you are all safe and will recover physically but can imagine it will take a long time to relax when out with the dogs. We dont live far from Porthcawl and have heard from friends and family members who have experienced similar from irresponsible dog owners. Try not to let it ruin your holiday. Oh I’m so sorry for your horrific experience, I cried watching this video as had an experience years ago with my own dog getting attacked by two German shepherds it’s such a scary thing to see sending best wishes to you and hope dolly recovers and that your hand gets better soon xx
