The Recovery begins - motorhome trip to Spain back on?

- Last time we we suffered a devastating dog attack, that left Dolly in emergency surgery and Corrin seeking treatment at hospital and Doctors. This week we have shaken ourselves down and got back on the road. We wont be leaving France just yet as Dolly has more appointments in Dax, so once she's signed off we will resume our trip to Spain.
In this video we take Dolly shopping and start visiting different towns in the area.
We are currently on on 9 week trip to Spain in our motorhome, although this has stalled in France where we need to stay for 2 more weeks so Dolly can be treated and signed off as fit.

Instead of the cone, which Daisy hates we have a blow up collar so because it’s like a sausage they can’t reach the wound to lick it. 🐾🐾🐾😘

Great to see Dolly up and running, had same experience 3yrs ago. Round the woods with my spaniel and out of nowhere came a staffy, grabbed spaniels back leg, spaniel managed to get free, staffy went to have another go but didn't get past me, kicked the bloody thing and he hit a tree,stunned him and he gave up, my dog had to have 16 stitches, he is now ok.
Oh my goodness , so glad your poor dog is ok , it’s the owners with no control that are to blame , hopefully your dog is ok around other dogs and not too scared after this ❤️🥰🐾🐾

Beautiful Dolly ❤ just a thought for you, you can get a floppy neck cone instead of the stiff one if you can buy one from somewhere, vets have them in England x 😊 u can buy one online, be a lot more comfortable for her x ❤😊
Hi Michelle, typically we have a few at home in the uk , which will be added into our first aid kit for the future 🥲 ( hopefully never used ) she’s very good with the cone , it’s only on at night as she is always in sight xx ❤️

Glad you’re all on the mend especially your dolly and getting back in to the swing of things, some people just don’t realise how much these little companions mean to us and attack on them is like a personal attack on you, I’ve had this twice before luckily not quite as bad as you as have managed to get hold of the dog and restrain the other persons dog. You have to be so careful these days and I actually am very careful on where I let my dogs off now as there are so many irresponsible owners out there that just don’t have a clue. Onwards and upwards for the reds enjoy the rest of your trip 👍🏻

Got to love the French roundabout art - we love spotting all the installations. And occassionally have a good giggle at the zero budget ones (old tires painted white and arranged in to snowmen was a recent one!) :)

When we lived in Spain there was a restaurant that has a 'water list'. Prices from 12 euros up to 62 euros !! Enjoy your onward travels.

Watched your video about your dog,and being a dog lover myself i found this upsetting, if the same thing had happened to our sealyham terrier we would have been mortified. Hopefully your dog will be back to normal soon.

@@redsgotravels Aah your very welcome. It broke our hearts when we seen what happened to little Dolly. We lost our dog in 2016 and said we wouldn't get another. We ended up getting 3 rescue dogs from different rescues and it was the best thing we did. Yes field adventures are so down to earth that's why I like there vlogs. You and your husband are the same and started watching you just before they joined you in France for NYE. I don't know if your friends with northerners on tour and the meandering mancs as we watch there vlogs too. The meandring mancs were with field adventures in Benidorm. You may cross paths as they have just left la manga.❤️

On your recommendation ordered a pass’etapes on New Year’s Eve and card and map arrived on 7th Jan. pretty good service I reckon. Noting down the sites you stay at with interest. My husband and I are caravanners, have been so for 50 years (Sshhhh!) having travelled to mainland Europe every year until the Pandemic.
This year we are visiting again, always taking our dog, with us. As the rules are slightly different now, in relation to what can and cannot be taken out of UK to Mainland Europe. It is the problem of dog food, ?????? I feed Kibble, but am wondering if that is permissible, as it contains meat.??????? Do you take dog food with you?

Hi ❤️and thanks for commenting, any dog with meat content is prohibited , as is dairy, a vets note will allow you to bring in a small amount , our dogs have grain free food and we had no issue finding the same food in France / Spain 🙂 I’ve attached a link to this reply which will be helpful, some do take it , some don’t , never been searched on the way out, only coming back x

good morning my name is Paul I have asked a question in the past to do with the infrared heating that you have and you gave me some good advice, I'm glad to hear that your dog is getting better and I live in France and have done for many years and those people were responsible for your healthcare and dogs vet bills you should have got their details or followed them back to their car I know it's a traumatic experience but they should have given there details that's why they disappeared so quickly. one of your videos that I'm catching up on I noticed your electric cable was coiled up that's quite a bad idea because the wire can heat up and could catch fire, there's a system over here which is called priority to the right ( priorite a droite)and it's mainly in towns where people coming out of the right hand turning can and do pull out in front of you there are signs to inform but not overly clear to us I know many people have come unstuck with this I also have a dash cam in my car and camper to record any problems because the English are always wrong I hope you have a good trip to spain and keep the fantastic vids coming regards Paul

My dig got attacked by a black dog when it was a pup he was unharmed, but now he is scared and stops still when he sees a black dog. I'm happy she is fine 🙂

My little dog got attacked by a new foundland quite badly …. It didn’t seem to affect him regarding other dogs think it took us longer to get over it !

Is Dolly a Sproodle, just wondering as I'm currently dog sitting for my neighbours Sproodle and it looks identical even in colour & size, that attack was horrific especially as I know these types of dogs are soft in nature so hoping she doesn't suffer long term being near other large dogs
