It is quite common for people in long term committed relationships to start to fall out of love with a partner. Love is a lot more complex than we sometimes want it to be. Good people find themselves in complicated situations. We all make mistakes. But, what should you do if you find yourself falling in love with someone other than your spouse?
We truly value commitment and marriage. So you need to do everything possible so that you salvage your marriage. It might seem more exciting and appealing. But you’re not seeing the full picture. Making a decision on a whim because you feel like you have fallen out of love with your significant other is dangerous. “The grass is greener” syndrome is real. Unfortunately, human beings have a tendency of focusing more on what we don’t yet possess and what we’ve lost rather than on what we do have. It is very difficult for us to appreciate what we do have. People get complacent and after a while we can understand how you would not feel as attracted or connected to someone you have been with for months, if not years. But commitment means sticking to what you committed to even when that initial feeling of excitement has worn off.
Falling in love is a bit of an illusion, where you’re focused on the potential of what a relationship could be, not what it actually would be. In order to truly understand and appreciate love to its fullest, the path ahead is to reinvent yourself, reinvent your relationship together, through the seasons.
We urge you to take a step back and to stop trying to focus on what this other potential relationship could be, and to talk to your partner. Talk to your partner about how you’re feeling, that you’re feeling disconnected and that you want to reconnect. But don’t talk about falling in love with someone else, that can open up a can of worms. Before you cross that bridge, make sure you have done everything possible to salvage your relationship. We have seen so many people have regrets, throw away everything that they’ve built over many, many years, only to realize that they were bored, that they did not truly fully appreciate what they were doing.
So you want to make sure you communicate fully and openly with your significant other, that you try to renew your love, and spend quality time as a couple. Don’t worry about other people, don’t worry about your kids, just dedicate one night a week or one night a month, to your relationship, in order to nurture it. You have to do everything possible to salvage this relationship or marriage, because if you don’t, you will have regrets.
All relationships are not meant to work in the end, and in some cases, people do fall out of love, and that’s ok. But before you get there, you need to make sure that you have absolutely no regrets, and that you have done everything possible to be sure that you gave your relationship a chance.

I am following you from last 3 years. I am in no contact from 3 years. Nothing changed nothing happens. Never she came back.
I also don't think that all relationship are worth getting back to or to safe for each price a relationship if they don't deserve us.

He acts it out by cooking for the family etc but my ex boyfriend tells me how much he loves all the time before l left him. I still feel connected to my ex. I think about him. The gap is still there. Hi Love Advice TV. My Ex broke up with me 4 months ago. I've been in no contact for 3 months now. Your videos have helped me so much! I'm continuing to work on my self and planning on reaching out in a couple of months or so. However my mind is slightly haunted with a few things my ex said to me post break up, whilst I was in pleading and begging stage. He was all over the place with his comments , but he did mention that "I wasn't the girl he had pictured being married too, and that he believed he would be with someone bit louder and extroverted" but then said he wasn't sure if that is what he wants either.
I'm very confused, as we were together for 2 years, had LOTS in common and he did have strong feelings for me and said at other times he thought I was the one, so surprised why he said those comments after such a long time? We are both young in our early 20s, and I am the first girl he has seriously been with. So I'm giving him space. I'm just concerned those comments he told me are red flags?
Or in my opinion, they were so other reasons why we broke up (we had started long distance, and both had a few intense months of work ahead of us, I sadly became needy and lost self esteem a bit) so I wonder if he just said these comments to just help himself justify his decision to break up in his mind and just homing in on any negatives he could think of?

Struggled been struggling with a sexless marriage for more than 18 years. I would collapse have depression and then build myself get therapy and pull faith out of myself or from God and believe he would change. So we decided to have an open relationship and I met someone and fell in love. It was bliss but he lives in another state.

I have been married for 5 years with her for 7 years. I believed that if I stuck it out through the hard times. (Lying, cheating, manipulation, slander) just maybe it would pay me back in the long haul because she has never had anyone to care for her . You did the right thin..and here is something to think about..he has been lying to you for a whole year already...while cheating on his wife. What kind of a person does that make him? Do you think you are so "special" that he won't do the same to you if he leaves her? This man is showing you through his actions that he has very little integrity if any at all. You deserve and will find so much better.
The sad truth I think is you have to make a decision based on facts no making excuses for the facts.. sometimes we have to experience and live through our mistakes to be able to realize we F@!?ed up..we are stubborn human beings… I would push through and suffer the loss and give myself the best version of myself for me, and to know my worth, what I tolerate and there hopefully I will find someone who doesn’t have to make me feel like this!!!

In my case, I'm the other one. I won't defend my choices for I made it. It's just fate is playing us, or just me. I don't know. It's been 7 years since we fall for each other but he is with her. And I choose to do what is right, I walk away and let them be. Within the years are path crossed again and again and again.. Just currently I cannot keep away, fate paired us. No judgement, but why is it so hard to finish what you start in terms of marriage? Making the mistake of loving and wanting someone that you are not married to creates danger for them.. places a huge burden on the unmarried person's life. This is why it's important for the married people to either work it out or end it, instead of causing someone they've dragged into their confusion into danger. No one should bare the burden of danger or problems because a married individual is too immature to finish what they started. This is why dating is dangerous at times.
