I thought I was listening to the soft voice of Bob Ross the painter. Lol. Thanks for all the videos!
The Walter White of cards! Great job.
Thanks, Kevin 🤙🏼
What a huge difference you were able to make on that vintage card. I always enjoy watching your craft so thank you for making this video Kurt!
Thank you Adam, I appreciate you checking it out
Fantastic video and great demonstration on cleaning a vintage card
Thanks for watching!
Thank you Kurt for doing vintage. I have had the kit for months just working up the courage to try.
Get out any base card do you want, have fun. The more you do it the more confidence you will build up.
One of the best demonstrations yet! Incredible transformation and so easy!
New sub here…Now that is what I call Restoration 🙌
Thank you 🤙🏼
I think its terrible some people out there think this is card altering. Coming from the arr world, I completely agree with restoration. All the arguments Ive seen and herd from people justifying the difference between what their opinion of restoring is makes little sense to me. Anything created or manufactured falls into their categories they come up with. As long as cards are not being actually altered such as cutting or bonding, which I don’t believe the polish is doing as some would argue, than you should be fine to restore these cards back to their original state. It’s really become an overstated issue in my personal opinion. You’re clearly restoring them, not altering the original factory copy. Cards already come with all those chemicals on them as well during the manufacturing process. I say excellent work and bad call on psa or any grading company taking negative action against you.
Thanks man, I appreciate it. I show everything off from start to finish because I think it’s important for collectors to know how to do simple care like this. Many collectors are learning how to restore cards and clean them, and I love being a part of it. ✌🏼
beeswax is for wood and restoring wood so works great cardboard perfect
I really like using the bee's wax wood Polish on my vintage card. It's really nice
Does it do a good job at removing scratches?
This is so relaxing for me to watch; it's like ASMR lol. How long have you been restoring cards?
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoy it. I’ve been working on cards for close to 20 years I’ve been representing my products that I make and selling them for the past four years 🤘🏼
@@kurtscardcare Very awesome, going to pick some stuff up to see what I can do on some of my old personal collection. Thanks for all the guides!
@@eevee942 absolutely, hit me up anytime 🤘🏼
Hey Kurt luv your content presentation and was that a microfiber cloth you applied to wipe off the polish? Also, what's your application for whitening dingy white borders on for example '84 Fleer baseball card ie., I have a Kirby Puckett rookie that has dingy white borders all the way around can't tell if aged in the sun or whatever else could've happened to it? Any advice or upcoming video would help immensely!
Hey Lamarr, thanks for the nice message brother. Sometimes the dingy color is baked into the vintage cards. But I always tap the surface with my card spray like in this demo.
The larger microfibers I get on Amazon. I’ll drop you a link to my website where I get all the little accessories I use.

NIce transformation, amazing. I have a question about the humimdor. What do you set the humidity to, for different results/conditions?
Actually, the humidor has a little gauge, and it sets itself to 70% humidity. He just gotta keep distilled water in the little cartridge and it will remain at 70%

Hi Kurt. You have given me some hope. I have a childhood vintage collection with a bunch of those '76 tallboys. Any advice for storage of those in regard to sleeves?
I’m happy you found it, these cards are too cool.
You can get tall card sleeves and tall top loaders

@@kurtscardcare Thx Kurt. I had been out of the trading card game for over 40 years. So, I knew nothing about grading, Junk Wax Era, etc. until a year ago. I plan on getting a humidor soon which is a brilliant idea of yours. How effective will it be on corners?
@@brirocks humidor is great. If you have a corner that is bent and you need to reshape it. If you're missing paint that sucks, but you can still shape corners better with humidity versus trying to do it dry
@@kurtscardcare You recommended the wrong penny sleeves. Those fit the 1968-70 "tallboys", not the 1976 issue.
@@brirocks so what fits the 76 then?
When waxing off, do you have to go one with the grain. or can you do it like a car
Great question, I like to go in one direction and off the card so I don’t catch a corner or an edge. The more comfortable you get you’ll be able to change your technique a little bit, but I always suggest going away from corners and edges.
How did it grade out?
I have it displayed on my wall, I actually didn’t send this one to get graded.
Do you happen to know what the name was for the plates you used for the curvature adjustment? thanks!

Do you know if any of the cards you worked on were rejected by the grading companies for any reason?
Great question. Everything I show you I have never had any pushback or problems getting cards graded. If you’re on Instagram, I post my feedback and customer feedback weekly. Feel free to take a look and hit me with questions anytime. Great question.
What are you using to wipe the wax off?
Just a soft, microfiber towel
have you ever gotten tape off of vintage cards?
If you are on Instagram shoot me a picture. Ill take a look for you.
I have a 69 Mantle been working on it Kurt and not much luck can you work on a 69 Topps with a crease so I can watch your technique please thank you
Great question, click on my vintage/paper card playlist. I have a large variety of different things that you can test out. Just get a base card first and work on that until you’re comfortable. If you’re on Instagram, you’re always welcome to send me a picture to. 🤘🏼
Ok im sold

Does it take the d wax stains off?
Do you do card repair as a service?

When I take of the polish and I look at it under light you can still see the polish marks on it is that normal
Nope, you didn't get it off. You have to re-apply and then wipe it off immediately don't let it sit. Good question!
@@kurtscardcare what do you use to get it off
@@leoboza2383 check this out, it will show you the technique

Are the grading companies , rejecting the cards sent into grading.
No. You can prep your cards. Just don’t color them or trim them.
Where do get the plates and flattening tools? Also more of the applicator tools?
