I love how, regardless of their age, all Bassets look like they are ready to gripe all day about the weather, the global economy, the price of gas, and those dang kids who keeps walking into their lawns. 💝❤😅

Ahh, the gripey face of the Basset Hound, a terrifying sight to behold. I believe that the producer of this video left that part out because he knew that mankind is not ready for that.

The camera person is so brave for risking their lives filming those deadly beasts. They forgot to mention their deadly venomous drool that can be flung all directions at any moment!
Neirher of mine ever drooled thankfully but the male had a definite hound odor and got severely sick twice from overeating peoole food stolen when we weren't looking. That part is no joke.You really need to keep buffet food, boxes of pizza, etc. very high out of reach or you risk losing your gluttonous hound. Mine was very ill from overeating for over 1 week.

My basset died a year ago, I still am finding dried slobber on objects and walls in my house.
Used to babysit in the home of a basset and after a drink their ears hold enough water to drown a small child

we just lost Bruiser our 4 year old Basset ...he had "bloat"......his stomach flipped.
the grief is almost unbearable. dogs just don't live long enough.
Wow I also had a basset named Flash when I was a kid but sadly he only made it to 14. As kids, whatever food we didn’t eat off our plate/bowl we’d give to him. Probably ate like 2 hotdogs a day(his absolute favorite food), and on top of that, his food bowl was always full. He developed diabetes at 11 so we pretty much cut back everything from there and he had to get 2 insulin shots daily. He was grumpy and stubborn, albeit cute, until the day he died.
For a dog to live to 17 is brilliant and you were obviously doing something right for your buddy to be by your side for so long. Take care.

Quite true. Back in the 60's and 70's my parents had two Bassett Hounds. I was always in danger of being licked to death!
Robert Keefer I have had four of them. They are the best breed in the world. I hope to have another one or two this next summer.

Over the centuries, millions have died tripping over the deadly Bassett in the dark. Or in daytime. Or in twilight. Their natural camouflage abilities combined with a very small profile on the floor makes them very dangerous when their hapless owners have gotten up in the night to go to the bathroom, and never come back.
