Haha, I was just thinking the same thing. I usually don't make my bed because my beagle just remakes it to his specifications.

Our first Basset, Sunny, would do this too. She would spend several minutes or more making a spot to lie down and then go lie down in another spot. 😂
I had a Basset named Sunny, too! I miss her. That is hilarious that your Sunny would work so hard on the bed, only to move on to a different area. Bassets are such goofy and lovable dogs! 💗

They're like "It's just not soft enough... damn it, I give up" and then proceed to go sleep on a more rigid lounge (like mine is now - with his ear hanging down over the side).
My basset gets so jealous when I watch deaner 😂

Dean has to get the bed just right. It's a dog thing, especially for the Bassets.
According to Bassett law, the bed has to be at a certain level of messiness before it can be slept in. Just saying.
Actually, they require that the bedding has more wrinkles and rolls than their neck.
If it's law...that's how it has to be done.

Dean reminds me so much of my first basset hound, Flash (they even have very similar colouring). Flash would fuss around forever trying to make his bed "just so"!
My Basset, Ariel, does the same thing - except in reverse order.....she's 'unmaking' my bed every night. Then she parks herself in MY spot and I have to scoot her over so I can get in bed. You would think she would learn to park herself on her side of the bed, but nope - MY spot every night! I've been rescuing this breed for 20 years now and still love them tremendously, even with all their quirks and stubbornness. :)

Dean understands the importance of comfortable sleep. He wants to be well rested in case there is an emergency. He knows that plenty of rest and a good diet is vital if he is to be called upon in a time of need.
