Lol my dog doesn’t sleep with me , I sleep with her .
She usually takes up the bed and leaves me a tiny space and my butt hangs off while she is splayed out with legs in the air .
Then she looks at me and looks at her belly like … here it is human rub rub rub ! .
My dog is the greatest thing that happened in my life .
I lost about 100 pounds exercising with her and walking, I quit smoking for her health, and I found a happiness I haven’t had in a long long time.
Just knowing someone is there , loving unconditionally.
She is so empathetic that when I’m sick she lays on my lap , if I sneeze or cough I get kisses , if I cry she wipes tears with her paws and licks my face clean.

My certified service dog “Bubba” and I have been relying on each other for nearly 11 years now. Bubba sleeps with me every night in a single bed. He’s an 80 lbs Labradoodle and I’m a chunky 200 lbs paraplegic man. I don’t mind him hogging the bed. Lol… His body heat soothes many of my medical needs. He’s the best heat pad in the world for aches and pains. We cuddle a lot while awake and/or sleeping. He feels where he needs to lay as the night progresses. It is almost freaky he senses my therapeutic care. Every morning I thank him by kissing him several times and talking in my doggy voice.
I know for a fact that sleeping together is the biggest contribution to our love, bond and trust.

The kisses and eye contact depends upon the animal in question. Dogs from shelters often need time before they can be called a fur baby. Most small dogs will have a far more positive reaction sooner than larger dogs that are known to be used as hunting dogs. So if you stare in the eyes of malamutes and breeds much closer to actual wolves, eye contact can be seen as aggression. Just a thought for people who are looking for a dog and are unaware of the time and sense of comfort the dog has learned from their person.

My dog was..more timid as a pup than most, still a bit more timid than most but not as bad (she used to pee herself out of fear over anything as a pup); we found that she responded much better when using positive training rather than the punishing one (like rubbing their nose in pee, a swatt on the butt, and putting them outside), this was back before positive training really became more utilized and more studied..so it was a slightly goofy idea back then and it paid off so much! She's so relaxed around us, listens well, and loves us very much as we trained her with only positve reinforcement! When it's garbage day and the big truck comes by she gets spooked from all the noise and banging, but I found it really interesting she'd come into my room to lay next to me even if the noise was louder in my room..she'd even come from across the house to lay next to me (I'm the only one home at those hours, my parents are work). I even trained her to give me hugs when I'm on knees (only then as I'm low enough for her to lay her head on my shoulder lol), but she only seems to do it with me..everyone else can command her to jump up to give hugs though via wrapping her paws around your waist when standing.
When doing the "dog voice" I call her some silly stuff like "nikki wiki tiki" 😆

@@jeankeats3200This is often due to having no socialisation as a puppy before being weaned from their Mother, or abuse before they were sold/adopted by these Dog parents. My Dog is scared of people because of the 6-9yrs of abuse he suffered before I adopted him, it’s taken 1yr for him to become a lot more comfortable going up to other people. Cats can be the same, personally I prefer Dogs as this fella is my 5th rescue dog, and I have had one who was severely abused before I adopted him as well, so I only used positive reinforcement. But I don’t understand this dog cat rivalry thing, I had a Siamese cat as a young teenager, she decided to be mine even though she was for my Sister and I, she was a great cat and my best friend, she was either stolen or hit by a car when I was 20, and I searched for her for months. My dog sleeps on my bed with me, and when we dog & cat sit for a friend, I usually don’t get much room in the bed because I have my dog, my friend’s dog and the cat all sleeping on the bed together, I always train my Dog’s to leave cats alone and I don’t let them chase birds etc, but my current rescue had never met a cat before as they aren’t allowed in the remote area he came from, due to killing the native wildlife, but he was just cool with her from the first meeting, my previous dog I had to train to leave her alone, it just took some time, but I don’t like to cause any animal to suffer. Empathy and compassion are good things to have, I hope you are able to work on yours, because all companion animals can be timid or scared of certain things, and that’s awful for the animal, so I don’t understand the enjoyment in your comment about a terrified dog, because I would feel bad for any animal in that situation. I’m a nearly 60yr old Man, and I think the more kindness towards others the better it is for everyone including our pets.

I watch a friend's dog regularly and I love that Aussie more than myself (almost?). I would live out my days with that animal and be pleased but sadly I need to earn a living and it breaks my heart to have to refuse play when she asks. There's nothing more rewarding than deciphering her communications and establishing deeper communication. That dog has also learned me to the same extent that I have learned her. It's an incredibly enriching bond. I just can't bring myself to get a dog of my own if I am too busy to permit full-time-play between her naps. I also happen to be the dog's favorite human even though she is not mine but still lives in a good and loving home. She understands the intimate focus that I give her and she gives it in return. Edit: The whole reason for my comment was that it doesn't take "scientists" to reveal this. That's kind of a joke to me. Just love your pet the way you want to loved...they will reciprocate probably better than another human will....AND they won't care if you hang the towel in a way that it doesn't dry as fast. Man's best friend 100%.

Yeah my rescue Kelpie X, he suffered loads of abuse before I got him 1yr ago he is between 7 & 10yrs old now, he was terrified of everyone when I got him, but with very slow and gentle work, even though I’m a guy and he is more afraid of men, he is loads better now, besides the scars all over his body, he is definitely food obsessed and there is no doubt that he would go straight for the bowl of food, and then he would come to me, I’m on 16 acres and I can call him and ask him if he is hungry or come and get your dinner, h runs from wherever on my property he is, which is usually a rabbit burrow, he is always puffing when he gets to me. I don’t mind I know he loves me loads, just as I love him. Thank goodness for Dog’s and cat’s whatever companion animal you share your life with, I take my fella to work with me everyday, and he sleeps on my bed too, I can’t live well without having a dog in life, taking care of them gives me a huge sense of purpose.

Some dogs actually seem to prefer their own sleeping area, often outside. My dog has an indoor bed and an outdoor one in his kennel, and it is up to him where he goes at bedtime. In extreme weather, he will prefer indoors. Heavy rain and thunder is just not his thing, or a really hot day.

I’ve also found that this is generally true. Both my dogs each have a space in the main rooms (bedroom, living room) that is “their” spot. They seem to love it.
It’s important though, that their spots (beds/kennels/mats) are set up so that they’re still hanging out with the “pack” when they use them. We have their kennels in the living room with the doors facing the center of the room. Especially when we have guests, they often like to go to their “safe place” …eventually… and hang out while still being able to watch/listen.
(We almost never close the doors…unless we’re getting the vacuum out.)

Being around your dog more definitely helps with confidence but you need to balance socialization. We weren’t around our first beagle a lot during the week but he was only left alone Five hours most days. We let him sleep with us after being neutered but he then became protective towards other dogs. He was always good around people and especially children but other dogs not so much. Our current beagle continues to sleep in his crate at night after being neutered. He gets a lot of couch time with us and he’s been quite good with other dogs but slightly timid with adult strangers. This time we’re working from home, walking him ourselves and meeting other neighborhood dogs so it’s made a difference.

All your advices are very nice and the pictures even more so. By the way especially nice, your pictures of close dogs' faces. Has it been also "scientifically established" what happens when a human looks at a picture of his own dog s' close face versus that from any other dog (loved breed or less so), what is the reaction in his being? Wish you all the Best, for you and your nice teams. 🐾🐾🐶❤
NB: ...why would a dog owner feel offended when his pet is smart enough to get first to the food, and then go to his friend? Is this not normal, life supporting and clever? He takes the food first, (why not it smells anyway as home), and then goes to the human, trusting him to still be there, what is. Just simple logic common-sense of dogs too ❣🙂

But when she's being cute, I call her "The Puffleupagus," which is taken from the Snuffleupagus character in Sesame Street, but I changed it for the large, puffy bear she is, lol.

My dog’s name is Kaeper, and he’s always following me around the house, sneaking up behind me, or waiting outside the door if I’m in a room with the door closed, so I call him “Kaeper da Creeper” for always creeping up on me. 😂

    • @pricewood1284

Oh, Kaeper sounds like such a mischievous and adorable dog! I love how he always follows you around the house and finds creative ways to surprise you. The nickname "Kaeper da Creeper" is absolutely perfect for him, considering his sneaky nature. It must be quite amusing to have him waiting outside the door whenever you're in a room with the door closed. It's these little quirks and behaviors that make our furry friends so endearing and special. Pets have a way of bringing so much joy and companionship into our lives. It's wonderful to have a loyal and playful companion like Kaeper by your side. I can imagine the happiness he brings to your daily routines and the laughter he must evoke with his sneaky antics. Thank you for sharing this delightful story about Kaeper. It's always a pleasure to hear about the unique personalities and adventures of our furry friends. If you have any more stories or updates about Kaeper, I'd love to hear them. Take care of yourself and give Kaeper a pat on the head for me!. I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon❤❤❤

Weird. I've always heard that dogs don't like the "kissy kissy" and hugs. My old Golden male used to learn *in* to hugs when asked for a hug ... he seemed to love it. Some people have said that he knew that I loved it, so he did it. He never seemed stressed about it. It was our "I'm home" ritual. "Hey buddy, I'm home! ... hug?" I kiss my dogs and people say it's disgusting, and that dogs don't "kiss" so they don't know what it is - but they have always loved it, and I love it, so I do it. I've also heard that you can be TOO lovey with your dog, but this video says be more lovey. I like this video! :)

It was that awful, lying, made for television Dog Whisperer Caesar Romero who made that stuff up just to see if people would follow him because he was on TV. He said dogs didn't like to be pet, and it was wrong to treat them like anything other than dogs. No babying them ever, even when they're little and are your baby. He made up the pack stuff too. I guess that should teach us to question everything, especially what is being pushed by the mainstream media.

The Guide elaborates on the techniques used on the show. The examples given in the czcams.com/users/postUgkxECnmSvBSv_NGWx4_ChD73pF3NYZwI2F3 are helpful and some of the techniques suggested very useful. One such technique/tool suggested was the lure stick to encourage a small dog to keep up with the heel command. I have a small dog who lags behind smelling any and everything and find it hard to keep bending over while walking to his level. The lure stick is great also for another dogs focus and sprinting at anything that catches her eye. The stories about different dogs, their different temperaments, have been helpful, especially Lulu's: After reading about Lulu's challenges I felt relief concerning one of my rescues that I have had for 10 years. Over many years I have checked out many training books from the library, watched different shows, DVDS, bought training books, taken lessons and this book is the best by far! Kindness, patience and perseverance works.

First I want to say that I LOVE your videos!!! My goofy nickname for my dog Cupcake is Chooki Booki, I know really goofy right? I believe what this video says; I have always loved dogs and when I have one, I pretty much can't stop kissing and petting them!! All but my current dog, has always loved me back with cuddles and kisses. My current dog is a regular/big sized Chihuahua (14 lbs) that is 14 yrs. old. About half or more of the time when I kiss her she turns her head the other way; this goes for when I kiss her too. We sleep in the same bed, but she no longer wants to lay and sleep next to me, she wants to be put into a cave like environment between pillows. I would love to hear what could be going on. Btw, she has been like this for about 1 yr. and a half. Thank You for your videos!!!

Question. We have a 5 minth old puppy weve had for almost 2 months. We live him so much, in watching these videos i guess im kinda concerned. I am "his" person, he follows me around, but he does not like to be on lap for more than a couple min. But he will lay next to me or on the cushion or pillow behind my head. At night he sleeps all i er the bed and oftentimes by me or his face close.... But hes not a lap dog (small chinese crested powder puff). Also he doesn't "gaze" into anyones eyes for more than a couple seconds, is something wrong? We never tell, never punish, plenty of walks and sniffing, lots of playing and he will roll over for belly rubs. He runs to me and please to be picked up when walking and seeing someone he thinks might be scary, but hes not one to lean in much, lap cuddles or gaze. Can that be just a dog's character or is signs something is wrong. He gets lots of playtime, working on training, and lots of treats.

My dog is petal. She"s my poopy puppers. I tried to use treats on her to get her to calm down when she gets excited to see me and she refuses treats so she can dance and get her pets. But not hugs. NEVER interupt her steps. Today she listened to me instead of a stranger at the park. Im having a hard time keeping her off strangers because she comes up to me. I have bad knees. I was working on down and this guy caught that and tried to work her to up. She stayed down. YES! Serious win. She is quite small because it took me a while to bond to her. Shes my first fog. Oh well. I have a small happy sweety. We only get better with time.

My wife & I have 2 dogs - 1 is very much hers, the other very much mine. I feed/groom/walk/play/spoil my dog excessively - he's my baby. Whenever I leave the property, he gets treats. Whenever I come home, he gets treats. He follows me like a shadow.
We also have a tenant. All she does is give him a treat whenever she gets home. He is more excited to see her every evening than anyone else ever, even though that's all she ever does for him.
I don't have a problem with it, I just don't understand how his mind works...

Training new behaviors rewards based training is successful. When training unwanted behaviors such as chasing cars, cats or aggression towards humans/other dogs ONLY corrections work effectively and quickly to get the dog to stop that behavior. Reward based methods may possibly work after months or even years and cost lots of money in treats. If you have ever had a German Shepherd or working breed you know.

How to get your dog to love you?
    1) Figure out what your dog likes and ... do those things.
    2) Figure out what your dog doesn't like and ... don't do those things.
You'll make mistakes but don't repeat them. The thing is, dogs are not all alike. In fact they're quite different. My present dog, a Galgo Español, is quite differentt from my last one, a Flat Coated Retriever. And i had to learn what my present dog likes and that's not the same as my last one.

She is now 'Lily Bear', 'Little Bear', 'Miss Bear', 'Lily Munster', 'Lily Monster', 'Monster', 'Lily Boom Boom', and 'Boom Boom Flower' (my husband almost fell out of his chair when I first blurted out that last one).
