    If you are using 3 seperate files I do not think it is possible. If the total output is less than 4 inches you might be able to redigitize them in SophieSew and export it as one design. Another idea if the three designs are less than four inches would be to use the positioning feature to start your first letter to the far left, your second in the middle and the thrid to the far right. This might take some trial and error to get right though. I hope this helps. Thank you so much for watching!

    How well does the Brother SE400 work on hats?

  • @BurleySewgoogleplus
    @BurleySewgoogleplus  Před 11 lety

    Don't be nervous! What is the worst that can happen? I will tell you! You may have to adjust your pattern several times. The initial design part isn't that bad. It's the tweaking and back and forth to get it to stitch out correctly that is the pain. Also once you get a few designs under your belt you will need less tweaking. So just jump in and don't get discouraged. Practice makes perfect. If I can do it so can you! Good luck and thanks for watching!

  • @BurleySewgoogleplus

    I hope I can help. You may not have a program on your computer that can read your embroidery file if you are trying to open it. If you are downloading the file from a website you would simply save the file to your computer. Once it is saved then you can hook up your machine to your computer and just move it over to your machine like in the video. If you are trying to open the file then you would need to have a program that can read embroidery files. Let me know if that helps. Thanks for watching

    I saw a video of someone doing a hat with a larger, better Brother embroidery machine. But from my experience the SE400 might be too small for that kind of job. I am not saying impossible but it would be challenging. If I needed to get something on a hat I would do it as a patch or applique. In other words you could embroider your design and then sew it on the hat. I think that way you could make a mistake and not ruin the hat.

I know how to hook up my computer to my machine, how to retrieve the patterns,etc, but I'm wondering if there's a way to program all the letters in the name so they are all spaced correctly? I find it most easy to COPY the design from "Documents" where I store or create my design, then PASTE to the "E drive" where the SE 400 will then see it. You need to delete earlier files, as it only holds one design at a time. (SE 400 will not recognize or load a design that will not fit into the into the 4x4 area...nothing can be outside that border on your software)

    Hey there Burley Sew! I'm a novice embroiderer and since I've started I go to your videos for help with my questions and concerns often even before I go to my manual, you've been a great help!
    I just had one question I was wondering if you could help me with b/c yet again my manuals arent really giving me a direct answer.
    I use a Brother SE400, the same model you do, and have been having a great deal of issues with uploading a new file as of late. The issue is not with my memory, as I have not saved any files to my actual machine, but rather with my temporary window that appears when I select teh pocket icon on the home screen.
    I'll drop my .pes file into my drive from my computer and the machine will register its presence but it won't show the design icon in the window, so I can't select it...its been driving me absolutely nuts and until I hear back from brother (via email) I'm afraid I'm just at a loss.
    Any advice on how to fix this would be amazing/

I've seen on PBS many quilting shows and one thing that I'd like to try is putting a quilt block in the embroidery hoop and have it follow a pattern for the actual quilting phase. I see information on monogramming, embroidery, regular sewing but I cannot find any files for quilting patterns. I've searched online and cannot find any information either. Any ideas on where I should be searching or what I should under? Is this feature available on my machine? Should I be looking under embroidery or other section of the manual? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

    All I wanted to do was embroider SHAY onto a quilt. I tried it with the SE 400 but it spaces weird. Tried all the fonts too. The Y is kind of set apart from the other letters (like this SHA Y). So, then I tried to use SewWhat and Sophie Sew to do it. I created the name and it looks ok, but can't get it to upload to my SE400. I saved it as a .pes file, but no go.Same as other users on here, it says it's uploading, but nothing displays on the LCD but the space used changes ..... Any ideas?

    As I import the designe to my Brother se425 it shows up on the screen of the machine but when I touch the pocket to save it, it does nothing. I have transfered other designes to my machine using pes format with no problem but I can't get it to save the dst format item I just made.
