Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

22:43 my uncle was a catalina pilot and the funny thing is they actually needed waves to take off 😂
Would they be stuck until the next good wave got them up and off, or would there be times they'd just call in the nearest destroyer and ask them to do a "drive by" to give them a wake to use? I mean, that'd be awesome either way. To have flown a Catalina that got to take off of the wake of the USS Iowa or something akin to that.

Yes! 🤣 Was about to comment that myself. It was also used to combat oil fires in Kuwait after the retreating Iraqi forces lit the oil wells on fire. It took over a year for the firefighters to put out the fires.

The Catalina is a famous float plane from WWII it was a multipurpose plane that was used to patrol for submarines as well as search and rescue missions for downed pilots and survivors of sunken ships.
a PBY crew were the first to find and rescue survivors of the infamous sinking of the Indianapolis

HOW DID U DO THAT WHAT LOGIC DID U USE
@@user-gj3qx7nh2w I use servos with hold position om as engine, and then i have distance sensors that detect when the blades get close to each other, which slows one of them down. If the distance sensors dont detect anything they just spin one of the servos to get the idle animation. Finally one of the rotors have a delay before it starts spinning to create an offset between the rotors. If you want to look for yourself you can find it on the steam workshop.

Not only that, but fire fighting tanks are a thing, too. We in Germany have one that is based on the Marder IFV

10:38 a water cannon could be cool. It would be like a snowball cannon but the projectiles are lighter and burst on contact with an additional short emp effect if they hit a creation.

The "Big Wind" vehicle has a real life version, they've used it to put out fires in oil wells because the normal firetrucks can't handle it. Look it up, it's so cool.
Scrapman should definitely play stormworks again, it’s changed so much and I think he would really like to look at some of the stuff the community has made.

The pby5 catalina was an American hydro bomber plane
It could land and take off from water and land it was quite slow as well its basically a boat with wings and propellers

RBY-5A Catalina was a rescue sea plane used in WW2 Its main goal was to rescue downed pilots and stabilize them till arrivle to a dedicated hospital Thay had the means to defend itself in Thay was chased the armaments the same as the bombers but a tad bit less.

The PBY-5A Catalina was a WW2 water rescue plane and since it was WW2 it was heavily armed and it gives more detail on the plane if you read the context

An idea one of the creations gave me for Multiplayer Monday: is there a way to make a fire-bomber? One of those aircraft designed to drop water or fire retardant to fight fires?

A DSRV is in laymen a rescue submarine designed to dock with larger submarines, both nuclear and diesel-electric. The USN and RN both wanted to deploy a DSRV to the Kursk Incident, but both the Russian navy refused help and it would haven given away that both navies had been spying on the exercise in the first place (as in, were in the same area, very close). The sonar officer on one US sub went silent for several seconds when he heard the explosion, knowing exactly what it meant. Said sonar operators talk constantly as the passive sonar is recorded, and are trained to never be silent… such was the extent of shock from hearing the explosion and realizing that brothers of the Silent Service had just died. The Sub Brief channel went into detail about it. Sadly, when rescue finally was allowed to arrive, it was far too late… had a DSRV been allowed in within the first 24 hours, a handful could’ve possibly (but not probably) been rescued from the Kursk.

12:19 the pby catalina was a interwar(i think) rescue plane/flying boat for the USAF US navy the RAF and canadian air forces they have a bunch of pvp bcus they may need to defend themselves from enemies as they were used to rescue downed ww2 pilots possibly with enemies nearby

Guy who built the icebreaker missed the whole point. Icebreakers are supposed to "drive" onto the ice and breake it with their weight. And that's why they have raked bow and not straight bow!

Day 5 of asking, Dear Scrapman, I have an idea.
The challenge would be to go as fast as possible in either kp/h or time from corner to corner of the grid map with a set power core limit like maybe 50 or 100. I think this would be an interesting challenge due to the need to balance aero, acceleration and the power limit.
