Hey there! Thank you for the overview on this! Looking into adding access control to our church main office to keep our bathrooms from being vandalized during the day.
Nice video Cody. We should be adding access control to our church doors for the day-care area. This is a good over view to show what can and can be done.
Couple comments:
1. It is 1/3 Amp, not 33A some could be confused, this is a small device.
2. The din rail mount, it actually pushes onto a din rail and snaps on top. This is actually a part i dont like, now when you plug in cables while mounted, it tries to disengage the mount, the spring load should be on the bottom.
🤣I installed mines and was thinking it had the spring lock like the gen 1 did so if I were to install it I wouldn’t be able to uninstall it (in a enclosure) so I had to move the rail to the left so could remove it . Totally agree
Maybe he forgot the “point 33A” in the script and when reading didn’t noticed. In the image is visible the 0.33A mark 😅
I was so confused for the first 3:20s I thought the new control unit only had two inputs on the left and three on the right or I thought it was the reverse of the unit. Finally realised that it's jsut a cardboard cover over the front of the unit.

more stuff about this kit:
- Many cell phones randomize their NFC tags now so you cant pair MANY models of cell phones with the reader including the google pixels, rendering the NFC functionality useless.
- Notifications on the Uifi Access app are broken and are unreliable, so there is about a 30% chance the door attendants will get the call. Ive seen the access reader calls not work on 8 of 10 cell phones.
Good info. When I was speaking on the Unifi mobile it’s for the actual mobile app not nfc

Do you know if the access electric lock works with typical push bars?

Hope you're doing well. I'm reaching out because we're experiencing some issues with our door access settings. Currently, we have the doors set to open when a specific person arrives, and this works perfectly from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Eastern. However, at 12:00 p.m., they should lock for our lunch break and reopen between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. Eastern. Unfortunately, the doors stay locked after 1:00 p.m., and we can't figure out why.
I've tried a few times, and it seems to work initially, then stop working. I'm not sure if there's a glitch or if I'm setting it up incorrectly. Your expertise in Ubiquity is much appreciated, and I trust your guidance more than customer service explanations.

Hi Cody, what happens if the hub cant reach the UDM but has power?
Does the user information get stored locally on the hub?
Looking through the UI forums, it seems if there is a power loss the HUB maintains some settings in regard to scheduled unlock? Im thinking in the event the UDM loses power before the HUB it continues to work on the last configuration?
I've installed a feu and they are indeed sleek, still for some reason most clients like the Gen 1 more in design.
Hey Cody, does every door need an Access Hub? or can one hub control multiple doors? Also does the Access Hub have the ability to do contact sensors? Can the access hub sound an alarm if a door is opened? like my Brinks alarm can it trip that?

HI , thx your videos are great , we just install the G2 , but the door lock is working on reverse , meaning it locks when we unlock , would you know how to have this fixed
Will these work with any NFC cards. Something less expensive if my church where to go with this.
I have a perfect project for this! Back gate strike lock, I can put my old g3 flex to capture then Front of the gate and then another to capture the back side, just wondering as this is the gate I bring my motorcycle in do we have a setting that will allow ai to detect the number plate then unlock the lock 🤔
Would work so well zip in form work don’t even have to get off the bike 😂

Hey, sry for my Question in bad Englisch, I have an aluminum door with an electric locking system, where I can connect the open function with two cables. Can I connect this to the system or do I need to change the electric strike on the lock?

Hi to connect the electric strike to the Unifi access hub it would need to be 12 volt
Is it possible to configure mag locks to auto unlock on power failure?
Mag locks by default are fail safe meaning they deactivate upon power failure.
Stupid question, possibly. Do you have to buy one of those kits for every door (for the lock/unlock feature) or can one do multiple doors? IE: you need one panel per door?
Not a stupid question at all. You can only have one door per access hub

Does anyone know if you can use a UniFi PoE++ Adapter rather than a $700 24 port pro switch? I have a client that need one door with an electric lock and I doubt they want to spend the extra money for a $700 switch if we can use a $30 UniFi PoE++ Adapter. Thanks

Hi, stupid question, how can I use ONE G2 Professional to manage the entry of a single door for two apartments in the house.
You can add the one reader on the outside to trigger the door strike on the entry door. Users should have free egress when exiting like a push bar to open door from inside. This is what i am doing for my house. I wish Ubiquity would sell the kit with the professional reader and not the lite as I wont need a reader in the inside of my house.

There’s zero subscription fee for Unifi access.
UID there was for mobile unlock but soon you will be able to have UID local for free with mobile unlock
How many users are we able to use for free on unifi acces??

why dont they add fire integration in the software? we want the hub to receive a fire signal from the buildings fire module and activate emergency evacuation on all hubs in the network...
I installed this system and you can add input that will trigger evacuation mode on it!
