No integration with Protect. Such a missed opportunity.

I agree with you !! Can’t understand why UniFi don’t have a real doorbell with access functionalities. We could be able to see the front door camera with other cameras in protect app. They just need to add that functionality to the UniFi doorbell

Just to clarify, the screen tearing defect on the UApro occurs both indoors and outdoors. Speaking from personal experience.

Nice review. Note that the Reader Pro Firmware 2.4.199 changed the camera FOV to be much more useful than the chest view we were all used to, so you should check into that and maybe post a comparison. I think the new G2 reader is still a better design, and having had 3 Pro screens ruined over the last 2 years, I'm also hoping the G2 will be more durable.

Great video, can you show how the app looks like? We are using pro kit and want to install this at a car door gate. When someone rings can you does the app show the gate next to it so you can just open it or do you have to switch over to from cameras to the access app to open.

Nice review. I am considering the Reader G2 and G4 Doorbell models for the main entrance (outdoor). At first glance, I prefer the Access Reader G2 because it supports NFC and pin code access. However, I noticed that it might require a hub. Is it possible to connect the G2 directly to the network without a hub? I would use Shelly 1 instead of the hub. What are the differences between using it with and without a hub? Additionally, do you have any information about Unifi's plans to upgrade the Doorbell with an NFC reader?

I like it. But wow what a cut out like on a aluminum frame store front you would have to get the grinder out. I usually use HID. The Signo 20 it’s surface mount The only issue is mobile access you have to pay subscription which a lot of customers don’t like.

I am recommended to use G4 doorbell Pro along with the Access Reader G2 Pro. The reason is the better doorbell quality in recordings. Maybe also that doorbell have continuous recording and face recognition. Is this correct and what you would recommend as well - to have these side by side?

Can you tell us what height you mounted the card readers at in your basement? ADA requires 48" off the ground (unless someone in a wheelchair has room turn sidways by the pad then it's 54") just wanted to know if it captured someone's face that's standing when mounted at those heights.

It better be a metal bracket. I just finished the first door at work yesterday. The lite reader's brackets are so janky/weak. Also the wave doesnt apear to work in direct sunlight. Which is ok because they wont make it a scheduled feature (like wave during day cards at night) so that feature is sort of a tease anyway. Idk that i would trust a $360 shiny bit of tech outside if this ones bracket is as janky. If this system is at least stable ill be happy with it. Im kinda leary right now

    - What is the ToF sensor used for here?
    - Seems like it would be easy for someone to vandalise this and just yank it off the wall (not saying they'll get in, but it doesn't seem sturdy).
    - Is it possible to generate temp. pins, valid for e.g. 2 days or e.g. 1 access for guests/package delivery?

I've got a Yale lock/handle and its accompanying keypad feels so squidgy, it's hard to tell whether you've pressed the buttons at all. I know we're supposed to buy in to the entire ecosystem, but it would be cool if this could be made to work with some other smart locks like the Yale. Any hacks?

This is the second home in which czcams.com/users/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU we've replaced our "regular" doorbell with a Ring video doorbell and we really enjoy it. It is very easy to install and it works very well, with a clear picture through the app and good in-home use (we added the chime, which is also easy to install and doesn't require another thought to use).
