@@bckpcz Canadian water hits a little differently than other places in the world. Also, on a legit note, orange and brown are naturally opposite each other when the sheathing is removed making for an easier alignment.
I was going to say the same thing. Always allow water a way out. That is why on the "waterproof" boxes you need to drill a small hole on the bottom as well to drain any water and or dew that will ALWAYS find a way in over time. 🤠👍
It's super cool how far Access has come since I got to work with the beta version a few years ago. The new Hubs are what we needed, but they were dead set on having DIN rail-mounted hubs and didn't understand having all the cables come back to a central location at the time.
I'm not sure what I find more interesting? The video itself or the comments below. You can tell who below has been doing these types of jobs for a while, verses those who haven't. I must say, I have never seen a KeyScan (dormakaba / Keyscan Aurora) being removed - they are rock solid systems and are at the top of every category you put them up against. I like to see dormakaba and ALGO products installed - these are two great Canadian companies and employ Canadians here at home. Amazing video as always though!
What a coincidence! I have an old Keyscan system (covering a single door) at the school I support and was thinking about how nice it would be to swap it out and expand the system (covering five doors) using Ubiquiti Protect running on a Cloudkey+. I look forward to the video covering installing the door strike mechanisms, particularly in metal doors!
When you say T568A is the 'best standard', why do you say that? Genuinely curious. Been using T568B for decades as 'standard' and it's mostly what I see in the field. Curious to know your thoughts as to why A is better. Thanks much!
That was more of a joke I knew it would cause people to comment lol. Ive always used T568A as that is how my grandfather taught me. It becomes a heated debate thats for sure. The only thing to remember is to use a standard and not make up your own code
Great job. I have a customer that has that useless Keyscan product installed. I will like rip it out an go all Unifi Access product. One day, when they are ready to move forward.
Hey, Did anyone see what device was being used for REX? I like the new access enterprise, but it only has enough ethernet ports for one IP reader per door. Im currently using a G2Pro for the entry, and a G2 in hand wave mode for exit. Thanks!
Hi!! Having problems adopting new thetas pro. Tried different hubs. It says ready to adopt I click adopt and then it says ready to adopt again. It is vicious cycle. My storage capacity seems to be close to Max could that be the issue. If not, any suggestions? UniFi forum is useless.
There’s a few access control systems we’re looking into and this one seems to be a top contender for us. Question - Each hub is able to control 8 doors. Are you able to link 2 hubs to a single account and have control to 16 doors? If I create a user, can they open any of the 16 doors with a single fob or card? Can’t seem to find a firm answer on this. Thanks in advance.
Hey, a quick question if anyone can answer it for me...Can I use 3rd party wired smart door locks with ubiquity's door access hub/reader setup? In theory, any smart door lock that requires 12-24Vs to operate should work with ubiquiti's access hub right? I'm asking because after researching a bit, I found only their electric strike and magnetic door locks to be reviewed with their door access accessories !
Because that would be the only upsell left for the U7 Enterprise. I went with the Pro Max as I wanted the dedicated radio for monitoring. the 4x4 wont do much TBH.
@MactelecomNetworks how unfortunate. In my opinion, that's a perfect combination for a single home. Do you have any other ideas on how to achieve the same thing with a g4 doorbell ?
Is this business hockey related, or why do they have all the hockey sweaters and sticks. You are in Canada though so makes sense. Also why in your opinion is A the better standard?¿
Very nice! I'll even give you a pass for the (A)ncient standard vs. the (B)etter one.
😂
B allows for faster throughput in certain instances.
B is the better one, confused me a bit there, all the tests confirm this :P, was just about to flame when i saw someone did a (N)ice post about it lol
And becouse Cody is so old, he use the Ancient one :-) he is practicaly Anqueetas 😀

dont silicone under the outside intercomes. water needs a place to drain if it does get behind.

The enterprise hubs are amazing! I remember the first starter kit it was good but now Unifi access is great
Dude you're killing it. This looks like a really interesting install. Good job to you and your helper
Thank you :) that’s my brother Jay he’s going to make a CZcams channel as well going deeper into the physical install

The customer is very heavily invested in the Ubiquiti ecosystem and the keys can system works well but was about 15 years old
Nicely done. Great install behind the scenes video.
Great install, looking forward to the more in-depth videos.
Clean install. Great stuff as always!
Thanks 👍

@@MactelecomNetworks And this is why I have trust issues. 😄
@@MactelecomNetworks Lol, I have no reasoning for it but I use B exclusively! Funny how that works
Thanks for sharing! Love it.
This is what I’ve been waiting forrrrrrr,
I hope with them screens we can see the cctv cameras on 🤞🤞
Nice! Thanks.
Great video!
Clean! Awesome
Nice, very interesting!
Hell Yeah! Awesome install. Would be great if you can do an in depth config of access.
Nice one . What kind of sticks are you using for drywall?
Can the intercom call regular SIP,POTS, or cellphones???

What is used to unlock the door from the readers? Is there a Unifi door lock or a different system?
The standard (B) Best part of this video was that song! “Just a Little Bit” by Chris Shards and Gloria Tells Incase anyone was wondering.
Great Work!! Looks awesome !!
Anyone know of fingerprint usage on the g4 doorbell pro ??

Hey love the videos, can you make one about how does an automated door opener work with the hub. ❤
Awesome install, was the cat cable already in the door frames?
Does that Sun Shield really do anything? Looked like it only stuck out an inch or so.
What locks would you use in a Home install? Front door, back door situation?
Hi. Is there any possibility to get rid of the directory button and show 2 names direct at front screen to tap on and call?

Hi Cody can the intercom viewer work with the g4 doorbell pro??
Was it painful to run the Ethernet cables ?
Does Cat 6 have the plastic spline divider in the middle of the twisted pairs like Cat 6a?
Typically, yes unless you’re dealing with very cheap cat 6 wire.
I know the specs for those door reader cameras states a 123° vertical viewing angle, but at the height they are mounted, how is the view?

Correct me if I’m wrong but your not supposed to use PVC indoors it has to be EMT or Rigid pipe otherwise looks awesome!
Can you do a video on the U7 Pro Max, like why they didn't put a 10 GbE RJ45 port and MIMO 8x8 on all bands, thanks
Because that would be the only upsell left for the U7 Enterprise. I went with the Pro Max as I wanted the dedicated radio for monitoring. the 4x4 wont do much TBH.
I am unable to find some of this equipment in Canada. Does your supplier have it?
My client bought all this gear. You can try through tDL Canada or deploy depot
no setup?
Hello Cody. I have one question please: Can you pair unifi Intercom viewer with a G4 Doorbell Pro ?
Nope not yet

Has anyone fitted unifi access to a roller shutter door?

Nope the business has nothing to do with hockey 😂 the owner just loves it
@@MactelecomNetworks do you prefer the A standard cause your Canadian A.

This man woke up that morning and chose violence. 😀
lol looking at comments so many missed COdy's joke
You should have gotten a holes saw and made two holes one in the top and another on the bottom the Dremel the sides. Lot quicker.
We have hole saws haven’t done that before good suggestion
Did this guy just say A was the best standard?!?
"Terminating in T568A because that is the best standard." I know that was for all your American follower. 😂
2:56 you lost me at using A standard
568A *twitch*.... *violent twitch*
'A' don't pay
LOL @ T568A
A standard? Hell nah.
