@Radu Goran lol....someone's throwing their toys out of the pram because Albania didn't send a fully realised package! It's not anyone else's fault but Albanias for not putting together a spectacular, heavily ethnic staging that would have killed (just look at the beautiful music video) but the staging was so basic and without atmosphere. She wasn't the best performer of the night either.

For me Switzerland was a shock qualifier actually. I understand why Moldova went through - i mean look at who the singers are, Eurovision fans love them. Also about Albania and Austria - I can see why they didn't go through. Albania had some vocal issues + i'm not sure the staging lived up to the song (my problem is mainly the outfit and the LED screen, why just cheap pink/blue???), and then obviously Austria couldn't completely mask Pia Maria's voice which makes me really sad as the song is one of my favorites this year. The one i'm mostly shocked about is Latvia- what went wrong??? Why didn't they go through???? I see no logic behind this...

Honestly if you take away the gimmick of the lyrics, Latvia's song was just a copy of early 2000s style and there was absolutely no way for a first time listener to understand the lyrics, I dont know if it was a sound mixing problem or simply their accents. It just wasn't exciting

Ronela really should have stuck to the whole dark ethnic fantasy theme she had going in the national finals and pre parties , the traditional elements is what made the song and too much of it was removed , the problem isn’t even the vulgar dancing or lgbtq theme it’s the fact that it didn’t match the song , I’m really disappointed coz Albania was my favourite to win this year and they had major potential I really hope This doesn’t encourage Albania to go back to sending standard ballads and no upbeat ethnic songs. Albania does well when they keep the song in Albanian and when they elevate the staging to match the song whenever they have tried to over do the staging and performance it never works in thier favour , for example lindita in 2017 the vocals were flawless but the staging and visuals were overdone and the whole thing looked horrible and 2017 wasn’t even that strong of year either Albania could have qualified and made the top 10 if the staging wasn’t so bad 😭

I think Cinan really forgets that a lot of the voters haven't fallen in love with the songs before they're performed-the majority are hearing it for the first time live on the show. Albania was messy and sounded out of breath-I LOVE the song but as she finished i knew someone tuning in for the first time would not vote for it. Latvia was shocking but a victim of placement. Austria, same to Albania, was too messy and out of breath. Moldova had the BEST energy of the night and you could hear the crowd go wild, my friends watching with me who don't follow pre-eurovision all agreed it was going through no questions. Iceland was the most suprising, not that they made it, but more that the performace was as good as it was-the staging and voices were absolutley perfect and they nailed everything-once again for my friends and I THEY were the cusp performance we MOST wanted to make it. I think considering the actual mass audience, the ONLY shock is Latvia not making it tonight-likely in place of Switzerland (Lithuania was always going to get enough jury points)

    - Her voice sounded too screechy, like if her only point was to make herself heard as loud as possible
    - At the same time you could hear very loudly the smoke-blowing machines, that were completely covering her voice at times, only time that happened. Adding salt to injury even the sound wasn't perfect throughout the performance because of how haphazardly Ronela flailed through the stage.
    - Furthermore the song appeared moving all over the place, like if it was struggling to find its identity and at the end what came across the screen was a very messy performance, sounded almost crass for someone who didn't know the music beforehand.

Although I lived for LPS (Slovenia) and wanted Bulgaria to go through, I'm not surprised that they didn't qualify. They did incredibly well though and performed superbly. Bulgaria got the staging, the sound and the performance down. So polished! Albania were the complete opposite so literally not shocked that they didn't get through.
I was right with my predictions tonight and got 8 out of 10. I didnt think Switzerland would make it, even though I love the song, because his performance wasn't the cleanest tonight, but he sold the emotion and the simple, intimate staging worked in his favour.
Sad to see Latvia crash out. After seeing their performance tonight, I really thought they were in! Sorry Latvia ❤

Ronela is an incredibly talented and gifted performer, but the styling was all off for this. Her FiK costume looked so much more expensive and powerful and suited the song much better. The dancing was distracting and overall just came across as messy. The NQ had nothing to do with EBU censorship/controversy and everything to do with a series of unfortunate choices for the final performance. Wishing Albania and Ronela nothing but the best for the future ❤️❤️

Cinan. I have a problem with your language. Esc is not only your taste. You are talking like it is something wrong with people because they did not vote for Albania. I can understand you are personal disappointment that one of your fav. songs did not get to the final. But show some respect for other peoples taste. You say you are on job, well put some of your personal opinions in the back and be a bit more objective. If you keep this up, I will be happy to see more of ESC from TikTok and not CZcamsrs like you. TikTok is more objective and give every song a chance. I don't watch Wiwibloggs to get your personal taste in music. I appreciate that William and Suzanne are more objective and give more songs a chance.

    1. Very happy for Switzerland, Iceland, Portugal and Armenia. They deserved it!
    2. Albania: their staging was way too sexual and aggressive for my taste. So i‘m not too surprised they didn‘t make it.
    3. Regarding the show itself: is it only me or does the entire show feel less energetic and exciting than last year? The hosts are kind if weird, the audience seems lame, the stage is less impressive…Like even with those heavy covid restrictions, Rotterdam felt 10 times more vibrant for some reason
