I love our Swedish commentators and always laugh at their comments. I remember a year of Edward saying something along the lines of “all the people in this group have failed to make it as solo singers and now they can experience failing as a group too” But I can’t remember which year it was or which country he meant.

Everyone who says they want Petra Mede back to host, should also remember add this guy, Edward af Sillén, since he was the one who wrote the script for the Eurovision hosts in both 2013 and 2016. And songs like "Love Love Peace Peace", "What is Eurovision", "Swedish Smorgasbord" If you thought Petra and Måns were funny, it's a lot thanks to this guy.
He also created the character Linda Woodruff together with Sarah Dawn Finer. He also created the host's scripts for Melodifestivalen 2009 (when Petra Mede hosted), 2012, 2013, and 2016. The comedy of Melodifestivalen has gone downhill since then, imho, and I hope he will return! And I also hope he is getting ready to write the script for Eurovision 2024! Fingers crossed.
He has to continue writing scripts as long as possible, he is the only one we got😭😂
I wish we could get that type of humor again, mello right now only has cringe-type humor you would only find at the Oscars. Love Farah and Oscar though.
Edward is amazing but what i heard he do have alot of stage fear so i don’t think that would be good for his mental health but he do many other things that has to do with eurovision.
@@boel6725 How would writing scripts be bad if you have stage fear? If you thought I meant that he should be a host too, then that wasn't what I meant, I meant that he should be added as a script writer, as he were before, without him Petra and Måns wouldn't have been the great hosts they were.

Speaking of Graham Norton, when him and Petra Mede hosted the show Eurovision's Greatest Hits in 2015, for the 60th anniversary of ESC, Edward af Sillén was one of the script writers.

As a Swede the subtitles are not super correct but still very close so good job.
Yeah, they're not 100% literal most of the time, but they do translate to expressions of basically the same meaning! (... with some small mistakes, yes)
It's very hard to translate Swedish word for word and not make it sound like you had a stroke lmao.

Linnea var ju en av programledarna för Melodifestivalen 2020, och det har ofta varit en f.d melodifestivalenprogramledare som är hans sidekick, så kanske det blir Farah Abadi och Edward af Sillén som kommenterar Eurovision i år. Eller kanske nån annan Melodifestivalen-profil? I love all the cheeky comments and the subtle roasts. Quite different to the commentator that I (as a German) usually hear.
And yeah, we did send quite a few bad or just radio songs over the past few years, though it seems that the NDR (German TV channel that does the choosing) follows the motto "Maybe this year is going to be better"
How are the German commentators? All serious, no jokes?

As a Melodifestivalen/Eurovision loving Swede, I can still say that Edward's commentary is one of the best parts with watching Eurovision every year. He's also a legend that wrote amazing scripts both for Melodifestivalen for several years and for Eurovision 2013 and 2016. I can't wait for May when he's gonna do the script again!

@@tienminhtonguyen6303 We are few people from our country, but the ones who make a great show will be selected. I think SVT saw the natural abilities of Edward and therefore chose him to a commentator. He has been our Eurovision voice host as long as I can remember, and I hope no one ever change that !

Usch means "yuck" in Swedish, not "bear". That would be "björn".
