Seriously! Where the heck is VR Cover? What's taking so long? I really kind of regret buying a Quest 3 so early. I could have been comfortable in my old Quest 2 all this time waiting for Quest 3 accessories.

Any loss of FOV even if it's tiny is a deal breaker for me, We need more FOV in VR not less.
I bought this interface and returned it. The FOV was a deal breaker. Like you said, it feels like binocular vision.
Think all facial covers has a poor FOV and feels like I’m looking through binoculars. I’m curious how good the custom facial interface is in regards to the FOV 🤔

0:40 get a 4.5” battery powered angle grinder with a Diablo Diamond tip blade to open all your boxes.
I did order the Razer face plate and strap. Love both of them; no fog. However, the head strap does slip more than other straps. I may put an anti slip material on the back of it or something like that.
A blow-dryer works on getting off those UPS labels. Works on food labels on glass and plastic containers as well.
Great video which it may fix my big high cheak issue which has been my only fitment problem with the quest 3 and given I don't have an iphone I can't get the other one you recomnned.

Reducing the fov compared to the stock one is kind of a dealbreaker for me.

I really appreciate the facial interface reviews. I am still trying to decide which one I want to go with. Kinda leaning towards the custom for the 80 bucks. The Razer stuff looks really good, but I don't think the loss FOV would be worth it.
Does custom one doesn't have vents so its foging alot?
Plus they dont send to Europe.
I guess that stock interface might work pretty well with prescription lenses since mine are pretty thick and even with the default quest 3 interface in the furthest setting my eyelashes still rub up against the lenses

Great video as usual Jay. I'm waiting to see if Bobovr does an interface that would pair nicely with the S3 for maximizing airflow from the fan. And speaking of Bobovr, what do you think of getting the B100U upgrade kit just use the connection base loose to enable the B100 to be used for other things like charging your phone like the older B2 batteries? I already have the single B100 that came with the S3 and want to get a second B100. If I get the B100U I get that second B100 along with the connection base for just $10 more.
Thanks! The b100u unfortunately would be hard to attach to anything but where there's a will there's a way! At $10 it's not much to lose, even if it just becomes an easy way to charge a phone on the go so I'd say experiment with it!

@@jaybratt I've been very tempted to get the Oblik custom one you've positively reviewed but I'm really just waiting to see what you say about a Bobovr one compared to Oblik. I mean this Razer one felt to you *almost* as good as the Oblik. So I'm just waiting to see if the Bobovr might be close to Oblik but win over taking advantage of the S3 fan better.
5:08 you really should compare from the top and bottom distance of the faceplate to evaluate relative FOV. Looking at the sides is misleading because the interface could simply extend further down the face than the stock facial interface.

The VR lenses won't affect the FOV. The facial interface will do that more. Once you get your lenses in try using this and then try using the stock interface again to see if you're really missing out on much with either interface

I hate the oem face so much light bleed from nose and squeezes my glasses, so I bought vr lenses like my quest 2 had, but for 3.

nice video thanks , only thing is as am in uk the custom made one i cant buy as 1 no iphone and no one to ask to use there iphone to do the scan ,so am limited on what i can buy , there is magnetic one has different layers but how good that be no idea,i would like to get custom one but if not android app or uk i cant see me ever getting one
Does your custom 3d print one…does it not have a nose flap?
Also does it charge in the dock?
I have two different ones, one of them is made for the charge dock and fits fine. It has some 3d print that sticks out near my nose to prevent light bleed but it's not as perfect as some silicone flaps could be.

That’s my biggest annoyance with facial interfaces is how much light comes up from the nose!
It seems like there’s enough other pros for this though, to wear I think I would still like it better than what I use now.

facial interface is obsolutely my biggest issue at the moment. I am using the AMVR one. I dont have the ability to do the custom one. I would still like nicer grips for the quest pro controllers but doubt that will be happening. Still love those controllers with my quest 3 now and did with my quest 2 as well.

At this price and build quality, I would have expected an FOV slider. I have a feeling that feature/design is patiented by Meta.

Is the razer facial interface better than the amvr facial interface?
The FOV, price and adjustability are better on the amvr but I'd say comfort, light bleed, overall build quality, and looks are all better on the razer.
As long as they dont use leather and the same spacer adjustment buttons as the original I dont need it 😢 On the quest 2 I had the perfect leather one, very comfy.

Thanks SOOO much for your thorough reviews. I've found them to be very reliable and trustworthy. I was hoping this Razer interface would be nearly as good as the Oblik, but the fact that the Razer interface reduces FOV is an absolute "no go" for me. I only have one eye and I use Reloptix prescription lens, so any further reduction in FOV is just unacceptable. Thank you for helping me not waste my money. I wish I knew someone with an iPhone or iPad with lidar... 🐈
Hey I really appreciate the kind words!! I always wanted a channel that lead with their concerns because when I research stuff it's easy to find the pros. I'm glad to be of help! I think you might contact Oblik and just check with them as that sounds like good grounds to make a fully custom interface. I know sourcing the iphone for it can be tricky. Luckily Editor Jon uses one

Like you, I still LOVE MY Oblik….but the Razer is based off face masks used with CPAP machines so they know masks and interfaces. But for that price and a Jay Bratt discount you can get a custom made interface that feels great and works perfectly with the S3….ill pass
I think one pro with this over the custom interface is custom pieces tend to plummet in terms of resell value, so I expect this piece to hold it's value a bit better.
That being said the drop in FOV is a huge con imo, as well as the $70 price tag. If this had an adjustability feature like the stock interface and was priced $60, or even $50, would be a much better option.

If it's got the "Razer" name on it, you know it's going to be expensive, and depending on the device, doesn't mean better quality. "cough cough mice and keyboards cough" LOL
For that price, I would expect it to be adjustable like the stock interface for getting the Quest 3 closer to the eyes.
You should buy a Hawk Deadlock OTF knife to open your boxes if you want to get real ridiculous. A little less ridiculous but perfect for opening boxes would be a Hawk Shortcut. #DoIt

Gotta say they fell short on this one. Why offer what other companies already are, AND without the standard adjustable feature. Pretty basic silicon. And to boot.... a premium price. Get outta here with this Razer. Want to enter the new VR market? Bring something new and desirable in. Not just another similar product with your name on it to charge premium prices and make money. I'll just wait for VR Cover to products to the bring Quest 3. Worked well with the Quest 2.
