    Before you put the coolant back, it's good to "flush" the system with distilled water. When doing this, add uv dye, drive around, then get back under the hood with a black light. You'll know immediately if there's even the slightest leak. If there's no leak, flush the water, add proper coolant. Then when it's all done and you know you did a good job. My favorite thing to do after a day of working on my car is spark up a big beautiful blunt ⚒️😎🚘

      Treats On The Streets they actually are not. The clamps BMW use do not chew up the hose like the replacement you purchased.
      It’s also incorrect to use any gasket maker, although I understand why you think you needed it (you didn’t).
      Car looks pretty clean. Do you know why your drivers seat is from an early 95 M3? Might be related to your airbag light.

    • @TreatsOnTheStreets
      @TreatsOnTheStreets  Před 6 lety

      +Braymond141 the BMW clamps were old and a few were cracking. Looked like they needed to be taken care of. Don't doubt they have a good design though!
      The air bag light is due to a bad passenger seat belt tensioner.

    I upgraded all the cooling part to metal too. Looks you just have the plastic expansion tank left. I have had two E36s and both got cracked plastic expansion tanks along the seems. Mishimoto makes a good expansion tank as well.

    • @Jason-gt2kx
      @Jason-gt2kx Před 4 lety

      @@TreatsOnTheStreets Sure. Its a welded metal tank so I know it will last longer than 2 or 3 plastics ones. Plus, like their radiator it got a life time warranty.That plastic tank is the weakest link in your cooling chain other than your hoses. I also got their silicone blue hoses mostly because their blue, but they aren't really necessary. Its not a matter of IF, but when that tank will bust. Especially the way you drive my friend! lol My ;mechanic friends who work on BMWs and race say the tanks only last 4 or 5 years.

    Hopefully this pump takes care of your issue for good. However if it doesn't or you want more cooling, get a Stewart Water Pump. They're pricey but worth it. Its design prevents cavitation and increases flow which obviously helps bring temps down and stabilize quicker.

    So was your upper radiator hose leaking? I’m having the same overheating problems. It overheats when idling. I check my engine bay an see there’s been coolant splattered all around. I had the same leak spot near the upper hose on that canister and on the bottom it looks like there was a lot of dripping coolant and like something just sprayed out coolant an I’m not sure from where

    • @TreatsOnTheStreets

  • @TheSkyrocket21
    @TheSkyrocket21 Před 6 lety

    By the way Gavin, I'm not 100% sure if this goes for m3s but if you hold down your ASC button it will turn off DSC which is a secondary type of traction control. You'll know if you've turned off all the systems if you try to press the ASC button and it wont toggle it on or off. It will just stay off. Also I'm not sure if you deleted it yet but e36's have a clutch delay valve that is basically a funnel in the hydraulic line right above the slave cylinder which makes it so that no matter how hard you drop your clutch it wont just drop it. Its a luxury thing that takes 2 seconds to remove, you just need to bleed the line after.

    • @TreatsOnTheStreets
      @TreatsOnTheStreets  Před 6 lety

      +David Mordechai that same thing happens when I hold the asc but I don't need to. On the M3 just simply pressing asc turns it all off. I unfortunately still have the cdv... have the stuff to take care of it but probably won't until I swap the 6 speed in. Thanks for the input man👍✌.

    • @TheSkyrocket21
      @TheSkyrocket21 Před 6 lety

      Oh awesome! I saw your video on the e46 6 speed actually but yeah if your putting the good brake fluid in then I would wait as well haha, that stuff is expensive! But I could just tell by the burnouts and I would assume its prematurely wearing your clutch like it did to mine, until eventually I did a burn out that was straight clutch. I don't know if you remember but i commented on your video about the e34 steering joint which I got the part for, I just live in Florida so I'm preparing for Irma, but I'll probably put it in while we're out of power haha.
