Morning John. Is there a reason why that particular street is always used for events like this run and demonstrations?
@@bettyalexkollias8058 Whitehall is the center of government, at one end the Houses of Parliament up to just past Horse Guard are important government buildings - Agriculture, Home Office, Downing Street, ect. Hence protest matches and using the road for this marathon.
I googled it apparently it started in 2015, but why do they have to do all these things in front of horseguards? The size of London surely there are better places to stage these things. I had to turn the sound right down and turn on CC because it was giving me a headache, no way I could stand to be there, I salute your dedication. Thanks for the video.
I definitely think its disrespectful to do this right in front of the horse boxes and where they are housed. Idiots!

After watching Abdullah’s video, there were dancing polar bears and giant penguins passing the boxes. Poor horses probably thought their hay had been spiked so went to lie down in a darkened stable to recover 😂.
It was nice to see the horses being taken in because of a well deserved charity run, rather than Bloomin protests.

It might not have been about the horses, but thank you for the sight of people coming together, getting fit, and raising money. Your commentary was delightful as always, your plan for getting a medal😂. Music sounded upbeat then I realised what it was and wasn’t sure it was what Ian Curtis intended. All in all, a great experience to see first thing in the morning here in Sydney, where news has been pretty sombre this week. Thank you🙏

Thanks John, you just showed London as it should be, people out enjoy a great community event. I remember when I was 20 doing the Bridges of London walk! Met so many wonderful people and actually finished it.
In the stables the horses are fine. My horses loved music in the barn !!!
This really gave me a good laugh especially when you got caught up on the wrong side of the barriers! So many people wow. Can’t imagine how the horses or the guards could possibly be at the gates with all the noise.

I really love watching your videos they very entertaining and I’ve learned a lot from as a US Airforce veteran I feel for the treatment these horse guards get after all we are all veterans and I wish my brothers and sisters in the military God’s Speed. Keep the videos coming and I’ll keep watching
Oh my goodness, the noise is horrendous. I hate continuous noise, sad not to have the horses, but an interesting look at the huge number of people that gather for things in a city the size of London.

Here in America (Southern California) the description only gives us the date it is uploaded and does not include part one or two. So the comments about it being old are valid for some people. I listen to John and notice if he says part one or two. Really enjoy seeing London through your eyes.
It is an appalling din If you are running in a marathon why do they need that din for me those organisrs must be off their "rockers"
Every participant in a marathon gets a medal no matter the if your first place or last. I’ve done two half marathons walking here in NJ and one Philadelphia it was fun
The horses were on duty in the 1st hour there were cars tires standing at the front watched a vlog on Sunday AM 👍
I'm guessing the medal thing is a "completed the race" award.

I'm not quick at technical issues. It took several times trying to find the date of video. If not savvy it's not immediately obvious.
Loved the video John, i'm happy you decided to post it after all😄😄I'm glad they decided to take the horses out to the stables (but they left the signs out🙃, probably because they were going to return after around 2 hours, 2 hours and a half when the event would have ended), but the gateman and chitsman were still at their posts. Yes, i can see the tube "traffic" is just the same as here on a normal working day😅 (it was crowded then because of the marathon, otherwise i guess it's a lot less people using the tube on Sundays). The "NASA blankets" made me burst out laughing🤣🤣🤣 I was wondering where i'd seen them before during NASA missions, and then i remembered the famous photos of the 1969 NASA Moon "landing", they used "blankets" like that😅🤣🤣
Just googled, a marathon is 42+km, 26+ mi. These folks must be rather tired now, lol.

I'm not Tec savy, old , from CA. USA, using a cheap phone. But I can find the date it was filmed. Like you have told us. The only problem I have is finding parts1 or 2 if I knew the title of 1or2 can Google it. And then find it. Please let us know the titles, if you can't will help me .

At the top of each video you see LondonCityWalks name and his red logo to yhe left of his name. Click on logo. That takes you to titles Eg Shorts, Video. Then click on video, you then get a list of all videos with title and a picture
Find your video and click on it and watch. Hope that helps.

Oh John you do make me laugh. You should have stood in that giant Costa Coffee mug, and he could have pushed you along. As for those complaining, some people really aren't happy unless they are complaining or putting a damper on what others do, but with no intention of doing it themselves.
IMO this shouldn't be allowed to happen on Ministry Of Defence land.
John most people running the marathon are doing it for people who have died or living with cancer
From the number of people wearing 'medals', or whatever, they must have given medals for just showing up.
This was a cancer charity run. Yes they gave medals for running. It's not ABOUT winning, it's about participation.

What is the 3rd regiment at Horseguards?
There is no 'third' regiment, though a guest regiment are in residence during June. Typically The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery. 🐴💪🏻
It's the one that looks a bit like a Russian uniform minus the headgear.?
@@brigiddinsmore As John said The Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery take over duties at Horse Guards when The Household Cavalry regiments , take a holiday . They are the ones usually seen pulling the gun and cannons carriages at ceremonial occasions .

Hi! I do remember watching a video about their training and they do indeed go out very early in the morning (like 5 a.m. or so) so the horses get.to stretch their legs! 👍

The ones who wanted to kiss us they were so happy to have finished , and the ones who vomited at our feet 😶 . Sweaty hairy horses , no problem , sweaty hairy folk NO THANKS 😂😂😂
