    I no longer play out, or record in the studio, but I still love to grab my guitar and jam in my home when the mood strikes. I have a small home studio, and I do have drumming software on my computer, but I purchased the BeatBuddy in order to play and record without having to access my computer. I also wanted something that I could trigger easily from my pedalboard.
    Can I just say, this device has changed the way I play and record at home. The BeatBuddy immediately found a home on my pedalboard right next to my loop station and I am sure it will not be moving out for a long time, if it moves out at all! By the way, don't get me started on how versatile it is!
    Now, I cannot compare it to the mini 2 because I have never owned the mini, but I can certainly say that I am very happy with the BeatBuddy that I did decide to buy. And for the asking price, this machine is an absolute beast! And, at this price, you're also getting a whole lot of drum machine for the money!
    I would highly recommend the BeatBuddy for anyone looking to get solid, realistic drumming sounds, at any level. I cannot see how anyone could be disappointed buying this piece of equipment.

    How to balance and keep each style at the same volume? because each style has high dynamic volumes for some styles and low for others.... for example, I connect my beatbuddy mini 2 directly to the soundboard... I use the ROCK style, I adjust the volume.... but when I change it to FUNK or BLUES the volume is lower and interferes with the performance when playing live... because I'm using it in bars and events with voice and guitar.

  • @kelalamusic9258
    @kelalamusic9258 Před rokem +3

    Both of these units sound quite good, but I'm just hearing the comparison on my computer. So, am I right in assuming that the BeatBuddy has a better sound quality than the Mini2 based on 24-bit compared to 16-bit? You mentioned non-quantized beats vs quantized beats, but you didn't mention what that difference actually means. How does that affect the sound quality, or does it? For me, we are talking about double the price here. If the Beat Buddy is much better, sound wise, then the mini 2, perhaps I can stretch my account a little more than it has been. It's important that this device adds better realism to my practice sessions. I don't want others in our practice sessions to beat me over the head with the BeatBuddy/Mini 2 because I purchased the wrong one🥴. Much mahalo!

    • @SingularSoundOfficial
      @SingularSoundOfficial  Před rokem +4

      Hey Kelala, the difference between the 16-bit and 24-bit sound only depends on the dynamic range. While noise is basically nonexistent between both bit depths, 24-bit audio is better for studio audio editing. At higher volumes, audio can.start to distort. A higher dynamic range means the audio can reach louder volumes before distortion sets in. 24-bit audio is optimal for editing in that regard. So we recommend the BeatBuddy if you are going to use one for recording or performing at a venue/gig, but the sound quality is practically the same between the two.

    So after every song you got bend over and get the next song ready? Or can it be programmed somehow

    • @SingularSoundOfficial
      @SingularSoundOfficial  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Hey there, you can change to your next song hands free by using the Footswitch+ along with your BeatBuddy. If you're using the full size BeatBuddy (which we recommend for live performances) you can either create a playlist of the beats you are going to use in order of your setlist, and simply press the right footswitch once the first song has finished to change to the next song. Or you can navigate to any song in any folder using the footswitch+ :czcams.com/users/shortsWsvrodWuLls

  • @randy_constan

    Hoping there have been some updates. I do solo work with a looper, effects, and drum machine, and my needs are minimal for drums. I just need simple drum sounds where I can set the tempo, have at least one offering in time signatures beyond 4/4, and ability to turn it on/off with a remote switch. So I've been using the drum sounds in a Zoom multi effects unit (G2NU) and it sounded fine, but I figured the beat-buddy mini would be at least marginally better, not to mention smaller (since I don't use the ZOOM for any effects). So I tried one many years ago, back 2016 but ended up returning it because its low-end (bass) sound was pretty poor. I would have kept it but I really had no way of adding as much base and low end EQ as it needed without resorting to yet another graphic EQ pedal. 2016 was a long time ago, so its hard to recall exactly. But the sounds in your demo (for the mini_ seem a whole lot better. I know the old one had no EQ controls, but do you think the overall EQ has been improved since the original unit? (Maybe this is a better question for the manufacturer?

      @@SingularSoundOfficial Beatbuddy Mini, and it was before there was a "2". So I'm hoping the new version has a lot more full range tone and "kick" to the kick drum. I don't expect miracles, but the tone should at least exceed the drum output of a Zoom pedal, where drums were just an "extra" feature.
