  • I like it quite a bit! I can find a few uses for it. The reggae beats threw me off track right away. The blues beats were decent. I liked the punk beats too. Some wacky metal beats for sure. This would be a good start for people needing a good metronome and a feeling of what it's like to play with a drummer. Other ideas for jamming include finding backing tracks on youtube. I record my own drums and backing tracks. Another option is using software to create drum grooves and parts.

Yes Brook, I love the BB mini 2 too. It´s verry intresting to use it with a volume pedal. So it´s possible to bring a lot of rythmic dynamic into the groove. It´s lot of fun.
    Thanks for charing 🙂

Wow that sounds pretty cool to add volume control.

Hey there, thank you so much for the review! We highly recommend plugging the BeatBuddy and BeatBuddy Mini 2 into a full-range speaker like a PA, bass amp, keyboard amp, acoustic/vocal amp etc. for the highest quality of sound. Plugging into a guitar amp can dampen the drum sounds with the guitar amp tone, and has a possibility of blowing out the amp if played too loud. Nice playing!

You're the only person I've seen to explain how you set your beatbuddy up everyone else I've seen just starts playing

Haven't bought one yet I was concerned about how to connect it but after your video it's on my Christmas list definitely now I'm wondering if it can be attached to a pedalboard and if so how 🤔

I bet that is a possibility to connect to pedal board. I had not through of that!

This review is awesome, it’s unrehearsed and raw.
Honest review by a real world player, thanks!!
Metal didn’t work for me…at all yikes 😳
I can only handle Primitive 4 on the Floor ( not a listed genre) so I’ve disabled intro for now.
I’m using Polka, Serbian, Ska and Rock, these seem to be easiest for me so far to follow.
Trying to keep it simple before I put it away for another 6 months.
I liked your reggae demo, close to what I’m floundering around with here.
I found a lot of this Beat Buddy way too busy with crashes and fills.
I might have to fire the drummer…

Simple is best for me most of the time. You should take up drum lessons too. It's really good for the brain and you'll understand timing so clearly.

Thanks for the demo. Is it my computer speakers or does it sound like a cheesy Casio keyboard? Is this gig worthy?

I honestly did not think it was very cool. I'd skip it. The beats were not really usable for anything or inspiring to me.

Do you need 2amps for this operation? One for the guitar and the drums pedal? Thanks

      @brookhoover1384  Před rokem

I don't think so. I actually forgot! The pedal is long gone. Sorry.

I run the BB straight to its own input on the amp. My guitar is through the pedal board on another input on the amp. One amp as long as it has more than one input/channel. If your amp only has one input, you can put a splitter.

    The pedal works with batteries?

Hello, this pedal was just here for a couple of days then I had to send it back so I don't remember! A power source would be my first choice. Good luck!

Hey there, you can easily use an external battery pack with the BeatBuddy, but the BeatBuddy Mini 2 does not have a place for internal batteries.
