I remember the 90s expansion heyday, the rise of roller hockey, it really felt like hockey was really on the rise and was the cool new thing. To go from that pop culture cache to what a clusterf#ck the AllStar Game was this year is really sad.

Wennberg is playing the best he has in a Kraken sweater, which makes it tough to want to see him traded as a fan. Eddie O is good on the broadcasts at pointing out how good he has been

If they can get a 1 for Wennberg … dream scenario. Wright slots in immediately. Wonder if Kakko would be a good target and risk to take for a 50% retained Wennberg? Schultz should go, too

I strongly disagree with your take that Seattle shouldn't participate in the All-Star Game(edit: or there shouldnt be an ASG). You seem to forget that the All-Star Game isn't primarily for adults; it's an event designed for kids. I fondly remember growing up and absolutely loving watching the All-Star Game, witnessing all my favorite players out there playing. It's an occasion filled with aspiration and inspiration for youngsters. Kids don't realize whether players are giving their all; they're just thrilled to see their sports heroes in action. Your comments remind me of the attitude of "I don't like it, therefore it shouldn't exist."
Now that I'm older, I still appreciate the All-Star festivities. I thought the skills competition was awesome, representing a significant return to form from previous, more "silly" years. The Kraken, being a West Coast team, already face challenges in garnering attention. Restricting cross-pollination events like the All-Star Game is definitely not the way to grow hockey mindshare in the region.
Overall, I encourage you to zoom out a little more and consider the underlying reasons for having an All-Star Game in the first place. It's about creating memorable moments and fostering a love for the sport, especially among the younger audience.
