- This is how you change mode and calibrate a DumboRC transmitter.
Blue light is normal mode.
Red light is mixed mode.
To change mode:
1. Turn off transmitter and ESC.
2. Hold full right and full reverse(Trigger forward).
3. While still holding, turn on the transmitter(The light starts flashing).
4. Release steering and throttle.
5. Press the throttle(The light is now solid blue or red).
6. Turn off transmitter.
To calibrate:
7. Turn off transmitter and ESC.
8. Hold full left and full throttle.
9. While still holding, turn on the transmitter.
10. Release steering and throttle.
11. Press the channel 3 button(The light starts flashing).
12. Move the steering and throttle to all there endpoints(Full left/right/throttle/brake).
13. Press the channel 3 button(The light stops flashing).

It's worth mentioning that in calibration mode (full left and full back), the vehicle does not move. This is a good thing so you don't have to prevent the vehicle from traveling.
I use the system to control a lawn mower and was concerned it would travel during calibration.
this radio has so many functions i liked it.
Nice it worked...now I move on to figuring out the esc programming to change low voltage and braking adjustments turn punch up. Thanks bro...
You will need a programming card for your esc. Once you got that, all settings in your esc can be changed

I was ready to pull my hair out.
It happens to me suddenly, without any reason... maybe for low battery in the transmitter and low temperature (2 Celsius degrees)... Inhope this can help someone.

We get red light suddenly, apparently doing nothing (maybe with low battery).
I was thinking about changing all the transmitter +receiver.. but with your video I solved the matter !
The only difference in my decice is that after switching on for changing mode I need to press CH 3 to see the led blinkink (this may help someone).
Low battery means slow flashing blue light blue

Great vid, thought i got a defective one. After doing all those steps, my vehicle has a control loss for about a second (both steering and throttle), then back to normal. Any idea what causes it? This happens on all three vehicles i have with the receiver onboard, different ESCs in all.
Anyone have to reverse steering switch but trimming is opposite direction?

On most controllers you have to press a button after setting each EPA. Do you not have to do that on this one? Just move throttle and steering accordingly then press ch3 to exit?
The transmitter doesn't have proper endpoint adjustment.
This is a potentiometer calibration.

Hey BJ & Everyone. Im trying to figure how to change the speed settings for begineers (my daughter). How do you adjust the speed to a slower speed from the settings??
If you flip up the upper cover, there's four dials, the lower right is TH(Throttle) speed.
Be aware that dial also reduce breaking/reverse speed

Swap them, servo always goes on channel 1, and ESC on 2.

I have a RC motorcycle that uses a front brake what would be the best channel to use like how old would you set it up for a front tire break?

Transmitter I have one already I don't want to have to buy another if this one could do it but I probably have to. Essentially when I'm trying to do is not only use the trigger but one of the other buttons or dials because of the front brake has its own servo..

If you just need to operate another servo you can use any of the unused channels.
My transmitter is having problems with the throttle it keeps making my rc car drive itself. And its unpredictable what the car will do and i can't drive it when its not good because it might crash and hit someone or trip. When i flick it a little it goes forward and to go reverse it doesn't im here tapping it to go reverse but does like a glitchy affect. But going forward which its becoming more overwhelming and frustrating. I think its the trigger being so touchy.

I found out that my traxxas vxl-3s brushless motor and esc doesn't bind with dumborc transmitter, and I found out a wire was worn and was making a short. And I ended up purchasing a radiolink rc6gs 7 channel transmitter for the traxxas motor and esc. It actually works now with radiolink.

great vid buddy. what happens if its blinking blue? mine just blinks blue every time red somethimes. manaul dont really help me much if you know how to get the blinking blue away and just go into normal will be great thanks
If it's blinking blue after you turn it on it's probably low battery warning.

Seems like you know a lot about the DumboRc X6! Any idea why the throttle direction reverse switch wouldn't do anything? I've tried two different transmitters and neither will switch the throttle direction.
I'm not really sure what's going on, I've seen it a coupled of times.
Try turning the transmitter and car off and on again and see if that jogs it.
@@bjsrandomrcs1352 I've tried a bunch of times. Recalibrating the transmitter and ESC. Works great with sensorless because you can just switch the motor wires. Thanks anyways! I'll keep trying!

As far as I know, it's always on.

It'll go to neutral if the signal is lost.
The interaction between receiver and ESC is very simple, as there's no real break signal.
The ESC decides what to do, if it receives a reverse signal, either breaking or straight to reverse.
The receiver won't know what the ESC will choose, so the only safe thing to do, is turn all signals to neutral.
Is this modes avaliable in all dumborc transmitters example:(x6p,x6f)

My best guess is: Any of DumboRC's transmitter mentioning that it works with tanks, will have mixed mode.
I also found mixed mode in a ZD racing transmitter(A rebranded DumboRC x4).
Mine is turning slightly after I turn it, any way at to fix? I rlly need it to go straight and this problem is not helping because I’m running it on a 125mph+ car
I'm not sure I understand what you are saying.
Does it keep turning or does it just react slowly?

Unfortunately you don't.
It doesn't have proper endpoint adjustment, just dual rate.
If you can adjust the steering links, do that, and get the steering as centered as possible.
If you do that, then dual rate can substitute endpoint adjustment.
It's one of my pet peeves, that the big RC channels don't mention, when they're gushing about it.

It doesn't have any end point adjustment at all.
Channel 1 and 2 do have dual rate.

No, they are calibrated from the factory.

How to turn on the failsafe.
As far as I know, it's on by default.
You can test it.
Just give it a little throttle and then turn off the transmitter.
If the car goes neutral and stops by itself, then failsafe is on and working.

That sounds !like a esc problem.
Some boat esc's either don't support reverse/brake or they need to be programmed to support it.
Ok so it randomly works now but still no reverse, do you know why this is?
Did you center the trim and maximize the endpoints?
If you have another remote/receiver combo, try that, as I suspect it's a ESC setting/problem.
If the problem persist(On another remote/receiver) it's the ESC, otherwise it's the Dumbo acting up.

Just recentred and maximised the endpoints (you mean on the transmitter?) and still no reverse, I have tried all the ESC's I have with the receiver and transmitter and still the same problem, I think I'll buy a different transmitter and receiver.
I forgot, the transmitter is always slowly flashing between light blue and blue
@@madman1257 If I remember correctly, the blue light is the low battery warning.
As for the lack of reverse, you could have a defective transmitter/receiver on your hands.

No reverse (on brushless) is connected to esc, you have to change the mode on the esc. If that is not the problem then its probably the transmitter.

I thought channel 3 and 4 can be used for cooling fans though?
If you only use the plus and minus pins, you can use any channel for anything, they just provide power from the ESC (Called BEC).
All the plus pins are connected together and all the minus pins are also connected.
It's only the signal pins that are channel specific.

Positive(Plus sign) and negative(Minus sign) in an electrical circuit.

The connectors on the receiver got 3 pins.
Signal, Positive/Plus and Negative/Minus.
I already tried this but still when I pull the trigger to accelerate, it runs reverse even though the botton is set to normal and not in reverse mode.
Did you ever figure this out? I’m having the same problem. One car is works as normal then second car it’s reversed
The Normalt/Reverse switch is just a name, you set it to whatever you need, to fix the problem.
Also, if breaking works, but the car accelerates in the wrong direction, you need to swap two motor wires(On sensorless brushless and brushed motors).
On the 3 plugs on your esc, swap the outer two plugs
I don't recommend this transmitter as it has no end point adjustment AT ALL.
Open the case. 4 knobs of adjustments
But none of those are end point adjustments.
