- Camping is a very good opportunity for distant radio listening (DXing), when you are relaxing on your summer holidays! On camping sites are free of radio interference and you have lots of time for listening.
Some tips:
- Place your tent near a tree or something to hang the wire antenna
- Stay away from caravan electricity outlets
- Stay away from night time lights (some camping sites have lights during the night)
- Listen with headphones. Respect the neighbours Tents are 0% sound proof! They can hear everything even at some distance! This is especially important during the night.
- Have some spare batteries. Some times they fail or they die because of the heat.
- Grab a notebook (like I do) to log your reception reports (broadcasts or amateur radio operators)
- Use a phone or a tablet and install a offline Shortwave time schedule database app

Looks like a nice setup for camping for sure
Great video, Sérgio! Enjoy your holiday camping and have good DX! 73!
Thank you!
What a fun spot that must be for camping and DXing!
I myself just returned from a camping DXpedition to Grayland, Washington USA. I was lucky to have very low background noise levels on medium wave (-130 dBm with the FDM-S2 receiver, 1536ksps sampling rate).
I also had fun tuning around with a vintage classic, the Panasonic RF-2200.
I look forward to more interesting videos like this one, of your DXing activities.
***** Thank you very much for sharing your recent camping experience. When I find a interesting thing to do for radio DXing I always make an video.
