I love how that one guy was hammering down the fact that as long as you never turn and always drive straight, you have the greatest car ever made.

Rolling a Robin into a super fancy, modded Robin--still one of the best surprises in a TG episode. Gets me every time.
This whole thing is hilarious but there was a serious side to these cars and it's amazing that they were actually legal on the road. One crashed into my dad's Cortina in the seventies and had rolled over before impact. My dad told me the reliant disintegrated into a cloud of fibreglass bits on impact and I recall him going to visit the driver later in hospital. I don't recall the Cortina needed much fixing.

This is the Mr. Bean car. Not Mr. Bean's car but the blue car that always drifts into something when Mr. Bean is around.
I think the real issue is the very small, single, and centered front wheel which controlled the steering, as well as the car having much too small of a wheelbase to make turns at speed. For a car from the 70s, it's aerodynamics are fine. The body style seems like early 90s cars, and it's pretty small

I rolled a reliant down a hill in the lake district once. It rolled three times and landed on its feet on the hairpin bend below. Almost no damage which we fixed with gaffer tape. Great cars.

I can't stop laughing. I can't believe this ever was legal to drive anywhere.
They buggered about with the diff to make it roll easily.
The team actually modified some things to make it more unstable, for the sake of the show.
In reality, you'd be hard pressed to get these things to roll.

so it would fall over no matter what. The car was actually quite stable otherwise...
To the responses - whether the show buggered with the "diff" at all (lol@ the guy who pluralized it), I can guarantee you I could roll this car almost as often if driven daily how I normally drive.

The "reaction" shots were interesting, no one seemed that surprised or disgusted. We know they messed with the car to make it roll over, but clearly there is the tiniest element of truth given by the enthusiasts reaction and discussion.
