Lol I just bought a Toyota Corolla a week ago
Yeah but a war can.
So no one's gonna appreciate that the mechanic literally revived the truck from dead without spares?
I do, that's real skill.
Mechanics here in America only know to replace parts, they tell you just to buy a new engine, or a new vehicle if the wear is considerable.
@@linkbond08 They do the same thing in Britain and Europe for routine jobs. Obviously they found a highly skilled mechanic who was up to the task since this was a unique challenge.
Meanwhile in backwoods, USA some dude is jerry-rigging some old beater
Honestly, that mechanic deserves as much praise as the designers of that truck.
The true unsung hero of this whole piece.
It's a Toyota not a chrysler
They should have given the mechanic who repaired that a shout-out. That guy is a miracle worker.

I was genuinely impressed by the resilience of this vehicle. But then again, perhaps it’s not so surprising that a Japanese brand such as Toyota, would make cars able to survive earthquakes and tsunamis! I was very happy that, after suffering so much, the Toyota rightfully earned a place of honor on the shows studio. 👍

Had one of these trucks. Damn thing was literally unkillable. Dad sank it in the river trying to drive across the shallow spots to a sandbar and sank it in a hole, had to leave it there overnight. Took 3 trucks and some digging to pull it out. Cranked right up and drove it away. We still laugh about it today.

Someone had a really interesting explanation recently, they said it's because after ww2 there were restrictions on Japan. Because of this, there were limited/no space engineering and rocket science careers. So what did all their brilliant minded engineers turn to since there was no further highest level like a NASA equivalent? You guessed it. Cars.
