In fluid dynamics, an eddy is the swirling of a fluid and the reverse current created when the fluid flows past an obstacle. In fishing, it's often the place you'll find dinner...
Your cool dude your not afraid of anything and you like being different your awesome I love watching you fish your number one in my book thanks for sharing
These fishing shows are really great I really enjoy them .thanks a lot for all your effort. I've learned so much from you. thank you very much I really appreciate it. have a good day and great fishing to you.
Subscribed yesterday, calm fishingvideos without some extremely excited host that screams "WOOOOOOW LOOOK AT THAT THIING!". Perfect. Thank you for bringing us with you on your adventures!
Thanks for the videos! My boat is currently under construction and your videos satisfy my taste for fishing while it's down. Plus I learn a lot from the videos
Couldn't believe you were fishing with an ice rod and reel. Really nice sheepshead by the way! Love your video Marty, been checking them out for a long time, honestly I enjoy your format, style and storytelling. Keep doing what you love and do best!
That sheepshead you caught at 6:30 is a mongo sized one. I'd love to fish Jupiter Inlet and the railroad bridge again. I miss the fishing since where I live they don't have fishing like that. Thanks for showing good fishing techniques to people who miss them. I used to fish for spots in places like where you're at. I miss the fresh fish that I'd catch all the time.
I just found your videos recently. I really dig the style of your videos, especially how zen you are about fishing. Your methods are very pragmatic, and I really like the fact that you don't tell everybody that they need to spend large sums of money to enjoy fishing, and that even if you have a bad day fishing at least your on the water. Oh, and I'm also jealous that y'all have snook on your part of the coast.
Excellent video and advice there Marty! Seeking those sweet spots out of the main flow of the water is great advice and although they may not "all" contain fish, following that advice WILL lead people to a good few hours of sport.
I fished the sea plane basin near the Peter O Knight airport near Tampa in the 90's. Most of the fish would be on the larger size, don’t known why, but they were plentiful and with lot's of small crabs in the rocks for bait. I would not eat them myself but would either release or give them to people that wanted them to eat. I like Sheephead just not from the basin, to many people living aboard in a confined area. Good times! I just found your channel and subscribed and like your video’s. Enjoyable content, thanks.
Woohoo! Great job! That was a nice Sheepshead! Lived most of my life in the Daytona Beach area and fished the pilings around the bridges and docks all up and down the Intracoastal there. Great fishing. You are spot on about those little Fiddler crabs. The Sheepshead LOVE them. I used to take an oar and rub some of the barnacles off a pilling and drop a crab right down next to it. Drives 'em crazy. Keep your rod in your hand so you can feel a bite. They are notorious bait stealers, and are a delicious fish.
Thanks for the great video Zoffinger! Love watching them. I bet since posting this video this sheepshead spot of yours has seen 10x the amount of visitors!
That’s awesome! Reminds me when I used to go black fishing in New York. Clams, fiddler crabs and green grabs is what I would use to catch them. Great video
I love the videos. Your sincerity and philosophy regarding life, fishing, gear and the environment comes across quite clearly. Kudos sir, I am "hooked". : )
Thank you so much for the non-stainless steel hook tip. I always cut the line, but I never thought about the stainless steel hooks. I'll make sure to watch out for this now!
I can often save bass that have swallowed a worm hook by going in from the gills with thin needle-nose pliers. Once the hook is out through the gills, cut it off the line and pull the line back out of his mouth. It doesn't always work, but I think it is better than leaving the hook in it's throat.
Zoff-that was so peaceful and informative. I especially enjoyed it as it is cold here N Mississippi. I always have trouble finding the fish here in fresh water lakes compared to my native Long Island Sound waters...but the tip on structure/current etc. is something I am going to pursue. KayakFreshwater
Great videos man. I was in St pete last summer stayed at a marina. Didn't catch anything but seen lots of fish. no one sold live crabs. got lucky a caught one on a piling that got sucked off instantly. . Was so stoked just being there... If I would have had a Kayak it would have been even better. Definitely going to buy one for my next trip down.
Nice video. Eddies are my favorite place to fish, whether fly fishing streams or saltwater for stripers. I think its something about the anticipation, knowing that if you present your bait right you're probably going to get bit.
I was looking for a video like yours. It explained key things that are going to help me catch my fav. fish(sheepshead). I'm one of those guys with the shrimp lol i got my first sheepshead of shrimp and little to no chance ever again. im going to try your techniques, with luck ill be getting them all of the time.
Great video. 2 things I would like to point out. We just got back from a trip where we caught Speckled Trout, Croaker, and Sheephead. We came home and had a fish fry. Everyone preferred the Sheephead over the other fried fillets. Also, Sheepshead feed on crustations. If you simply take a shovel, and use it to scrape those bridge posts under the water, you will create a Chum to attract the fish. If you watch other CZcams videos, you will see them doing this. Give it a try. It should increase the number of fish you catch.
Hi! Over here we fish a lot at night for sheepshead on the docks.. I mainly use cut bait such as dead shrimp or even little squares of Bonito. Attach 2 leaders about 3 feet long each to a tiny swivel and to main line..depending on how much wind/current there is just put a little pinch lead above the tiny swivel! I usually catch 2 sheephead at a time! You should try it over there ;)
Hey man! I just recently found your channel, boy do I love it! I've watched most of your videos by now and love them all! I love what you're doing with the house boat as well! I've always fished a lot and you have inspired me to get a kayak sometime soon to fish out of. Being 18 I can't afford a boat, so it's perfect for me. I live in the northern part of Louisiana. The part that makes it better is that I actually plan on moving to Florida here before long so I'll be stoked to bring it down there. Anyways, long ramble over, I was wondering if you could do a video outlining all of the equipment you feel is vital to having a successful time on the water and a safe time on the water, what do you keep in your kayak, what tools you will never go without, basically your load out. Not so much focused on rods or bait, more like tools, ice chest, etc. I would love to see that video!
Marty ur an amazing fisher man! And ur so lucky to live in the fishing state.. I live in CT and the weather here is crazy so cold no more kayak fishing :( but ice fishing soon
you have a pretty cool channel. I feel as if I've learned a lot watching your dyi videos, and I'm thinking of making a wheel system for both my canoe and kayak
Mr. I like what you do I'm making a kayak to myself also, out of plastic barrels(I'm a little bit poor right now) to go fishing, u should try to use sea water boiled shrimp to take tiny bites in the hook, the shrimp's smell attracts more and bigger fish Tnx for the idea of kayak, greetings and good fishing!
hey marty great video!! as usual! , hey theres a good way to remove those hooks from fish without having to loose the hook! just cut the line like you did and go behind the gill and take the hook out from there withought trying to rip his gill. and hey those were some nice snappers! there good eats aswell!!
Great video Zoff! Those sheepsheads sure are gnarly! I really think you'd find it both more fun and easier to use if you switched to a medium action 5'6" trout rod rather than that goofy little ice rod. It'll way improve your accuracy on the cast and be a much better fighting rod for the large and small sheepies! Be well and fish on! Mark from Oregon!
They're really great under the bridge, next to the pylons where there's very little room for a regular sized rod. And they're tons of fun. Like your pocket fisherman :)
I like how you break things down, has to be helpful for new anglers, always calm and humorous too. Thank you for the great videos.
Your fishing attitude is highly admired and should be encouraged.
Your cool dude your not afraid of anything and you like being different your awesome I love watching you fish your number one in my book thanks for sharing

I'm living vicariously through you Marty! Love your videos!
I love your videos I can watch them for hours helps me count down the time before I deploy
Couldn't believe you were fishing with an ice rod and reel. Really nice sheepshead by the way! Love your video Marty, been checking them out for a long time, honestly I enjoy your format, style and storytelling. Keep doing what you love and do best!

Thanks for the great video Zoffinger! Love watching them. I bet since posting this video this sheepshead spot of yours has seen 10x the amount of visitors!
Great Job, Marty. Love fishing those tight spaces where the big boats can't go!
Great Video...love those fish..That last one was a beauty.....Thanks
Nice video. That theory works almost anywhere. Even in Australia where everything is upside-down!!!
Great video. A lot like our blackfish angling up here in the North-East. Love the ice rod too!!
That’s awesome! Reminds me when I used to go black fishing in New York. Clams, fiddler crabs and green grabs is what I would use to catch them. Great video

Good fish,good video,good every thing as usual....keep em coming ! !!
your video camera work and narration are as good as any televised fishing show.

I'm definitely trying these methods next time I go back to the coast. I really liked the barnacle video. free bait and sheepshead are tasty!
Never caught a sheep's head. Looks like a feisty booger. More into fresh water large mouth bass fishing. Great vid!!!
Great videos, very informational. Good luck out there, tight lines.

The other day i went fishing and caught 2 flander and 9 trouts it was a good day for me but got lots of useless lady fish
Keep those lady fish next time man. They make great cut bait for redfish.
Zoffinger you da man!!!!! love watching you.
Great advice about bridges and other manmade structure. Also applies for freshwater too. Glad u can get out and fish been cold here in North carolina
Great video once again , can't wait for the next one
Great video. Fiddlers and those mangrove tree crabs are the only way to go for sheepies. Light leaders and small hooks. That's the real secret
Great videos man. I was in St pete last summer stayed at a marina. Love the underwater shots that you do around the bridges. Good times fishing. :)

Excellent vid Marty, you should have your own fishing show.
Nice fish at the end there. Great video, thanks.
Glad to see you using a "ice fishing" rod. My northern buddies laugh at me for that, but I've caught fish the size of the rod on it!
FANTASTICO,very good fishing.

Good fishing trip and nice catch. Nice kayak, around here ( VA ) they are always in the 000.00 dollar but looks to be a good gear for fishing.

Also a great idea to have a couple ice fishing rod/reels on the kayak. I will be picking up a couple for some quick outings or live bait.
They're really great under the bridge, next to the pylons where there's very little room for a regular sized rod. And they're tons of fun. Like your pocket fisherman :)

+zoffinger Marty whats the best fishing kayak under $500-$600 for a beginner
