- This was my first time having THREE horns on a video and it took everything to a whole other level! So happy to have my bestie Emily Pecoraro on saxophone to help turn this ‘60s groovy tune into a Latin dance number 💃🏼

This is what a cover should do: make you hear the lyrics in a way you never heard them before. Thank you.
I guess you got your hearing back 👀
@@stephenstiso9139 Great comment!
Maybe the term cover is not appropriate. A more appropriate term could be interpretation.
@@lasentinal Cover is technically the correct term in pop music, but I see your point. In the classical world, we don't call a quartet playing a Beethoven piece a cover. And we certainly expect the group to interpret the original. Worth thinking about. Thanks.
But ... the chanteuse should amend the lyric to "your" seeds, to keep gender sense.
What a wonderful rendition of a classic Cream song.
Jack Bruce’s jazz background really shines through
Jack would have loved this . The trumpet player sounds a bit out of tune . Never Tell Your Mother Shes Out Of Tune .
@@paulfuller8985 ; Solo section?
This "latin" way shines through, Wonderful playing from the keyboard!
Yes
I guess I am the oldest lover of this tune. I am 78, and heard it when I was 22, in 1967. Beat it, it you can! Love from Sweden.
And just to let you know that in the same year 67 ...I was in the 10th grade and saw the Cream at the Forum in LA while I was on acid.....great times..............😎
@@tomhefner6344 In difference to you I was sober when I listened to this 1967. Well, music has its ways...
Very talented musicians. And wow, such a fantastic singer !!!
By the way, the director of the video knows his job : only one camera, not moving, takes the whole band in one sight. Perfect.👍
The strength of the writing comes through when it can be reimagined and sound that good.
There used to be a saying that the test of a great song is how it sounds when played in a different style or genre. This song definitely passes muster.
Cream was my number one band when I was a student, long time ago. To recover this music as this is a pure joy! Thank you.
Jack Bruce and Ginger Rogers in the original Cream have passed away, but Eric Clapton is still with us. A legendary music trio, as I see it.
I couldn't have imagined this song plated in this style. What a wonderful interpretation. Kudos to every one of the musicians.
Gave this old rocker a big smile this morning. Thanks from Colorado.
greatest riff of all time. takes me back to 1967 and I was a 16 year old kid hearing this on the radio for the first time
You're not alone in that! 😃
Yes, greatest riff. I was a little bit older this 1967, 22. It hit me like a hammer
Another '51 here
Saw them at the Fillmore, 1967. 5 times in two weeks! 19.
I've been doing this Cha Cha version on the guitar at home for a few years for momentary amusement with Wes Montgomery style octaves.
This cover is splendid and showcases what an excellent jazz tune this piece has always been.
Yikes!! An old man just fell in love with this arrangement.
Amazing performance.
By this interpration we entered in the Latin version of:
Sunshine of you're love.
I embrace it.
And dance lost in thought.
Wonderful rendition, Robyn. Your creativity and talents are amazing! Thank you for sharing.
It's as though this song was written for you! I have a new appreciation for it now.
Cool version. Thanks, Robyn and band!!
It's always good to hear Cream songs, even like this...
Incidentally, I was listening to this song earlier, so a Latin cover version is certainly the cherry on top. 🍒😍
And a pina colada percolating cover ... .
The song that turns Mona Simpson into a rebel. 🎶 Thank you Robyn, thank you all! 💚
I love how these covers always work so well, even when we don't expect. This sounds almost exactly like how I imagine a Latin cover from that time of this sounding.
Yes, but it wouldn't have been a smash hit in the 60's Rock world, influencing the Blues-Rock scene that followed.
@@keithpittell3944 True, and that's kind of what I was thinking too. It would've been a hit but not a mega-hit, kind of like how Jose Feliciano's "Light My Fire" cover is great but can't compare to the original by The Doors
@@AltoonaYourPiano I saw the Doors in Phoenix. They incited a riot against the police line in front of the stage at the end of the show. Lol. They were playing "Unknown Soldier" as we battled the police hand-to-hand. The good old 60's.
"Sunshine of Your Love" is a 1967 song by the British rock band Cream. With elements of hard rock and psychedelia, it is one of Cream's best known and most popular songs. The song became Cream's first and highest charting American single and one of the most popular singles of 1968.
the Big band sound is so Good!!💯😎
As soon as some people hear a little bit of brass, they think it's Big Band. There are fewer people on that stage than were in the Grateful Dead. Mighty Mighty Bosstones have a bigger horn section. Hell, Slipknot is 50% bigger. Or did you mean that they're giants - an actual band of "Big" people?
@jonathanwapner6262 no you goof it's the arrangement that gives it a swing/big band era sound
As a musician who has covered it since it came out?
Stellar job and Bravo!!!
Trumpet solo was great.
I never thought I'd see brass trio and no guitar on this song.
I wanted to make a Mojito and light a cigar. But I don't smoke anymore.
I don't have to, because they're SMOKIN'! 🎶
Extra credit for the horns and stand up bass. And that dress.
Это просто бальзам и мёд!!! Прекрасно и завораживающе!!!! Красота!!!!
Oh hell ya!!! That was AWESOME!!! I remember when that was on AM radio and I had the 45.
Kudos to the band! Love your style girl. You are a cut above the rest.
Va-VOOM! What a voice, and what a DISH! 💐😘🔥
Brilliant, per usual! I've always got the cha-cha vibe from that riff... Thank you, wonderful!
Would have never thought to do this song in this genre! Great all around!!
What an inspired choice of arrangement! Robyn, you OWN this. This is stunningly good.
Wow. Wow. WOW.
you are like the pleasant morning sun. When you wake up, you definitely need to listen to two or three songs and a pleasant day is guaranteed. Thank you for another successful cover. fell in love with you and your creativity
Lady Robyn and your friends were killers in this cover... Amazing song, with a different style, very perfect! ♥👏
What an awesome reimagining of this classic Cream song‼️ ...and you do it SO well, Robyn ❣️ LUV it 💯
De lo mejor que has hecho ultimamente ROBYN.
Magnifico arreglo y felicita a los musicos.
Desde España 🇪🇸 ❤ 🌹
Damn, that solo on the trumpet! Pretty cool!
Triple brass attack! Really catches my attention
Robyn Adele Anderson had a perfect tone in the song. It made me curious if it was real or A1 processed. I haven't heard that kind of pitch since my youth. Great job Robyn
Haha it’s real!
Jack and Ginger are arguing somewhere in heaven over what the best part was!
That's simple, Ginger thinks the drummer is weak and he wants to hit on the singer! LOL
Beware of Mr. Baker!
What an excellent performance. I loved the Cream and how they performed this song. That said this is an awesome interpretation.
I swear, Emily Pecoraro needs to be featured in a PMJ video sooner or later…
_PIPES, HORNS, rhythm and SASS!_
This is fabulous. Congrats to Robyn and the band.
Well, that was just frickin' awesome! Thank you algo!
Add me to this video's list of enthusiastically-impressed musicians & viewers who remember when Cream first sang this, have played it countless times without fail ever since and still own an original copy of Disraeli Gears. I hope more of us click in. This version works perfectly... Best use of the song since Goodfellas.
Absolutely wonderful!
