My Alienware 17 R2 is older than that. Perhaps you have the model wrong? 17 r2 is Intel Haswell 4th gen based. Edit: Nevermind "17 r2" is 4th gen "m17 r2" is 9th gen wonderful naming strategy
So you don't need any heatsink? And you only need to install operating system if you are using the drive for computing. Mine will be for games which the computer will initialize
My alienware m17 seems to crash on loading alienware screen? ONLY when its restarting. Or restarting from updates? Not from turning off and shutting down tho
This is not M17X R2
Iv installed the new drive into the second slot. My system see’s the drive in BIOS but it won’t show up anywhere else when the computer is on. Any suggestions? Maybe a guide for this process? Samsung magician or formatting the hard drive?
Did you go into windows and view the drive under DISK MANAGER? I'm guessing you just need to activate the disk.
